I grew up in Philippi and know that there are limited choices for everything here. Apparently Fox's is the only place that delivers. Not much has changed in over 35 years. I ordered a large steak stromboli, hold the onion, because the disclaimer on the menu says that there is a $10 minimum order. So, after adding drinks and some cinnamon sticks, I more than hit the $10 minimum. Now, on the outside of the menu it says that Fox's Pizza Den is a family tradition since 1971. I was wondering if it was a family tradition to send out potentially messy food without including napkins and including ingredients that were specifically asked to be omitted. I searched high, I searched low, and I searched in vain for napkins. So I went traipsing out to get the roll that I keep in my car. I ordered my stromboli without onion and what do you suppose was the very first thing I bit into? Onion. I realize that if you're the only game in town, you can pretty much do things your way. But this is not a good way. For a restaurant that's been in business for nearly 50 years, I'm surprised someone still has to bitch about not receiving napkins with their order, or bitching about messing up the order. I would suggest to the powers that be over at Fox's Pizza Den to do a little customer service training with their delivery drivers. I mean, for gawd's sake, no napkins?! There WAS, however, a positive in this experience. The girl who took my order over the phone told me it would be 45 to 60 minutes for delivery, and dude was knocking on my door in 20 minutes. The food tasted fairly good. The dipping sauce, which I guess is homemade, is a tad on the sweet side, so Fox's, I would suggest you revisit your sauce recipe and lay off the heavy hand. I come up here on occasion to visit family, and I am willing to give you another shot. But you only get two. Please bring my three star service up to a five, and I will gladly write you another review. read more
