The bartender was friendly and chatty, and was from another country so he was eager to talk. They have a two part building, with a nice large downstairs too. The brewery has been going for over thirty years, which is a lifetime for this industry. The beer selection was fairly limited compared to the dozens you get at some breweries. They had basically one offering of each type (stout, ipa, lager, ect). There's recipes seem to have been going for years and they have all sorts of old labels from decades ago. Lots of video poker machines if that's your thing, and a cool swag shop. The rest 2/3 of the building is more your typical independent casino. I opted for the Chocolate Stout, and it was fantastic! Never know what you'll get with a new brewery but this was a nice dark beer with lots of malt and sweet Carmel flavor. One of the top stouts I've tried, and I've had a lot! Definitely would be back for that same beer, and to try more!

I first visited Dostal Alley when they opened, during the early years of gaming in Central City. My…read morefamily has deep roots in the area from long before gaming arrived, and we've always made an effort to support local businesses and owners. In those early days, Dostal was a place where people came for a good pizza or sub and enjoyed a little gaming on the side. It was part of the community. Unfortunately, the place today feels like a shell of what it once was. The food has always been average, which is something many customers can accept, but poor and disrespectful service is never acceptable. I brought my concerns to the owner, Lisa, hoping they would be taken seriously, but the response was disappointing and dismissive. It's unfortunate to see a longtime local establishment lose the character it once had. Good food and good ownership go hand in hand, and when both are lacking, customers notice. After many years of supporting Dostal Alley, I won't be returning. Farewell, Dostal Alley.

Ambience = The church side has awesome ambience, although it feels a tad cramped. But it's a pretty cool setting for an italian restaurant. What a unique restaurant... inside a restored 1888 stone church. They kept the original stained glass windows, the choir loft & the confessional booth making this one of the most interesting restaurants. The dining area was cozy - not many tables & chairs. Our table was too small for four adults with bread, apps & dinner plates. However, our server was great, very attentive. Always near to clear plates, friendly & fast service. We started with bread & Italian salsa. The bread was good but the salsa was even better. It was fantastic & full of flavor. Next, for apps we had the Meatballs & Fried Calamari. The meatballs needed more seasoning & the sauce was bland. The calamari was rubbery & chewy. The Lemon Aioli that came with it was tasty. Our entrees were the Chicken Parm & the Crab Stuffed Shrimp with Linguine & Sauce. The portion sizes were big. The chicken was prepared nicely & was tender. The sauce unfortunately was bland. Same with the shrimp dish, it needed more seasoning, I didn't taste the crab & the lemon butter sauce had too much garlic for me. Perhaps our meal was a one off. Their menu is extensive & I will give them another try...the Lobster Ravioli sounds good. Note, on the other side of the restaurant is a pizzeria, called Slice Works, with a dining room & outdoor patio. I will try this as well.

I have had Slice 420 before and have always loved their mission and culinary passion. Their pizza offerings are incredible-white sauce, ricotta, chicken, marinara, hot honey, if you can imagine it on a pizza, they have it. But if you venture off the pizza path, that is where magic lies. Tonight I got the rigatoni and meatballs and my husband got the colossal chicken parm. Both came with fresh rolls. The portions were massive, but we both got full portions because leftover pasta is the best part. The rigatoni was cooked perfectly al dente. The marinara was perfect-Nona would be proud! Absolute beautiful marriage of flavors-slight spice, oregano, basil, each bite was perfection. The meatballs were tender, flavorful and despite the sauce having a huge punch of flavor, neither overpowered the other, you could taste the intended balance in each bite. My husband's chicken parm came with the rigatoni but the chicken parm was a whole other level of flavor-delicate breading that didn't weigh down the flavor of the chicken or overpower the dish itself. This place is delicious, if you are looking to support local and an incredible mission, this is a can't miss!
