I completed Lindsay's 6 week program and wow! I can truly say that it was a life changing…read moreexperience!! In the past 4 years, I had gained 40+ lbs due to some special medicine I was taking (and probably some overeating of hamburgers too haha). I tried EVERYTHING to get rid of it. Juice cleanses, special diets, pills, multiple private trainers, you name it and I had done it. Unfortunately, nothing stuck. Knowing my wedding was just around the corner, I had to do something to get the weight off for good. I wanted to feel confident on my wedding day! I found Lindsay through a quick yelp search and was intrigued. Let's get this straight. This is not a special fad diet or some strict eating plan, its a way of life! Lindsay gives you the tools, skills, and mindset to make a long lasting change in your lifestyle. During the course of the 6 weeks, I lost 8+ lbs and now (more than 3 months later) I'm still continuing to lose weight by following what she taught me. I plan to be at my goal weight in the next 3 months (in time for my wedding!) And most importantly, I feel fantastic!!!!! I feel like a whole new person. Yes, it's a monetary investment but it was worth every penny :) do it!!!

I was always looking for that quick/easy way to lose weight and while I have been successful in the past, it always comes back. With Lindsay's program, I feel confident that this is something I can keep up with long term and I have already seen amazing results. Not only do I notice a physical change, but mentally I feel so much better as well. I am sleeping better and have more energy. As other reviewers have said, this is not a strict or fad diet but a different way of life. I eat out a lot and starting this program I was worried I wasn't going to be able to do that. However, Lindsay taught me some tips and tricks so that I can still eat out, drink and socialize but still eat healthy and it can still taste good. I can't wait to see what happens in the next few months!

Since September, I've been struggling with significant mobility issues with no clear cause. After…read moremultiple visits to specialists, my primary care provider, and even two trips to the ER in one week, I remembered a treatment that had greatly improved my quality of life in the past - acupuncture. To my surprise, I found a wonderful clinic just eight minutes from home that also accepted my insurance! After reviewing the website, I realized their program offered everything I was looking for, and more. I had the option of a 30-minute in-person consultation or a 15-minute virtual one both on the same day. I chose to go in person because I wanted to not only learn about the services but also see the space for myself (plus, it was so close!). Shortly after booking, Cara-Michele, the practice owner, called to confirm my appointment and suggested I double-check my insurance coverage. That evening , I arrived a few minutes early, and I'm glad I did. The GPS directions were a little off. The building houses several other businesses, and is secure, requiring visitors to be buzzed in. As soon as I walked into the suite, Cara-Michele greeted me warmly, and I immediately felt comfortable and confident that I was in the right place. Her calm, compassionate demeanor and thoughtful questions helped her understand my needs, and she gave me the space to express my frustrations after so many prior appointments that left me without answers. Cara-Michele walked me through all the services offered, including nutrition and physical training, as well as showed me the equipment and products she uses. While she made no promises, I left that consultation feeling truly hopeful. I scheduled my first acupuncture treatment for the very next day, and the second the day after. After the first session, I felt about 50% better; by the second, I was nearly 90% improved. The name speaks for itself, STRENGTH & VITALITY WELLNESS CENTER! Although I've only had two treatments so far, I'm beginning to feel like myself again. I have no plans to stop anytime soon, and I'm hopeful that continuing this work will help me avoid a major surgery that was scheduled before the end of the year. P.S. the address for this location is 106 Old Court Rd. Ste#200 Pikesville, MD not 6302 Falls Rd.

I took advantage of a Groupon for a 60 infrared sauna use based on the good reviews and was glad I…read moredid. I'd had one before at Vita Revive but wasn't as impressed because their door had an opening near the hinge that let cool air in so I didn't feel like I was getting the complete effect. The sauna at Holistic Solutions was state of the art, from the lighting, areas of concentration for the infrared treatment, the lighting, even down to the music (either your own or choose from a selection similar to what you'd expect to hear during a massage session). Cara-Michele was great and seems knowledgeable about her craft (which seems to be overall holistic wellness). She took the time to explain how the sauna works to me and after my session she walked me through all the different programs she offers. I liked that she had a lot of holistic supplements for purchase but I only discovered them from looking around on my own, she didn't try to push them on me like a used cars salesmen. Outside of supplements she also has nutrient powders and shakes but be advised they're not vegan. I have a primary place I already visit for acupuncture but I do plan to visit this place again to try out some of the other services offered.

Our experience with Renfrew was traumatizing for our daughter and our family. Our college-aged…read moredaughter struggled with orthorexia and the adjustment to college and dining hall meals was difficult for her. She is an athlete and after her weight loss, the university's athletic program required her to go to Renfrew if she wanted to continue to participate in her sport. She agreed to go so that she could continue to play the sport she loves. She hated the program, felt belittled by the therapists, but gained weight because she realized how important it was to work hard to get to a healthy weight so she could feel and play her best. After she gained weight she was repeatedly brought in to surprise meetings at Renfrew where they would tell her they needed to step up her care to in-patient care - despite the improvement and weight gain of over 10 pounds. How scary for my daughter! She must have thought, "I've done so well, I'm gaining weight, and it's not enough. I thought I was getting better." In-patient care would have meant taking her out of class, away from the friends she was just starting to make and putting her into a facility in a different city where she had NO friends and NO family. Her personal therapist (not at Renfrew) was concerned about removing her from her support system. Upon his recommendation, we decided to go against the direction of Renfrew and withdrew her from the program at the beginning of the second semester of school. Instead, we set her up with a therapist in Baltimore that specializes in eating disorders and a dietician that the therapist chose. Because the therapist and dietician were not part of a "center," the university would not allow her to participate in her sport - even after restoring her weight to what it had been when she had entered school that fall. The university claims that they don't understand eating disorders so they have to go by the recommendation of the "program" (like Renfrew) and could not abide by her personal therapist's recommendation. So, she was not allowed to practice or play. We put her on a waiting list at another eating disorder center but they didn't anticipate openings till summer and she would be home for summer break by then (not in Maryland). It's my opinion that Renfrew knew the power position they were in and took advantage of that by continually requiring step-ups in care that were not necessary AND would have been detrimental to our daughter's mental health. Renfrew could not see the whole person and look at the whole person's mental health to determine the best approach. Instead, they went by their playbook to stepping up care at every opportunity - regardless of the impact it would have on the person. Our daughter did so well second semester. She made friends, she no longer had to eat alone in the dining halls and gaining weight became easier and easier. Eating alone for the first time in college is scary. I wish they would have dealt with that, rather than thinking they needed to put her into a hospital. Our daughter came home for the summer and looked healthy! However, the university required that she had to complete an eating disorder program at a "center" before she could play the next year. We entered her into the Melrose program in MN. She was evaluated and it was determined that she would complete the outpatient program as she did not qualify for their in-patient care. She was at her goal weight by the end of summer and released from the program. The university wanted her to continue in a program when she returned this fall, but her doctor at Melrose recommended that she be able to choose a therapist and dietician of her choice rather than having to go to a program. Thank goodness! We've continued with the wonderful and supportive therapist we had found in Baltimore and the dietician that we had chosen the previous year. They have been a great support to our daughter. Our daughter has been playing her sport and enjoying college life. It's unfortunate that universities do not know how to handle eating disorders and handcuff parents and students by requiring them to participate in certain "approved" programs like Renfrew. I am frustrated with both Renfrew and the university's handling of my daughter's situation and would suggest careful investigation and monitoring of your family member's care if they participate in the program at Renfrew.
