I was referred to Fox Valley Nephrology by my primary care physician. I went to my appointment and was asked to make an appointment for a renal scan. I assumed this procedure would be covered by Network health insurance since they are partners. Fox Valley Nephrology assigned to procedure to a Dr. Stevens who is not a partner with Network Health. I was charged $573.80 to pay personally. I appealed this to Network and was denied twice. Fox Valley Nephrology never notified me that they would be having some other provider do the procedure. I called FVN they told me it was my responsibility to look into billing and provider and not to assume that it would be covered by Network. They are not an honest, forthcoming facility! Off to a poor start! I had my first appointment with them scheduled for next week. Unfortunately I was going to be out of town. They said they could fit me in this Wednesday at 11 am. I reconfirmed date and time since I had to fly out Thursday and they confirmed. This worked great so I moved my busy Q4 schedule around. Checked in on Wednesday for my appointment and they looked at me like I had 3 heads. Apparently, the doctors aren't even in the office on Wednesday. I did reschedule but may look for another option.
