I was referred to Fox Valley Nephrology by my primary care physician. I went to my appointment and…read morewas asked to make an appointment for a renal scan. I assumed this procedure would be covered by Network health insurance since they are partners. Fox Valley Nephrology assigned to procedure to a Dr. Stevens who is not a partner with Network Health. I was charged $573.80 to pay personally. I appealed this to Network and was denied twice. Fox Valley Nephrology never notified me that they would be having some other provider do the procedure. I called FVN they told me it was my responsibility to look into billing and provider and not to assume that it would be covered by Network. They are not an honest, forthcoming facility! Avoid at all costs!

Off to a poor start! I had my first appointment with them scheduled for next week. Unfortunately I…read morewas going to be out of town. They said they could fit me in this Wednesday at 11 am. I reconfirmed date and time since I had to fly out Thursday and they confirmed. This worked great so I moved my busy Q4 schedule around. Checked in on Wednesday for my appointment and they looked at me like I had 3 heads. Apparently, the doctors aren't even in the office on Wednesday. I did reschedule but may look for another option. If I do go, I'll update this review based on my next experience... If anyone is even there.

The new nurse is quite gruff and Dr. Smith has not bedside manor at all. It was almost like he enjoys saying I could "stroke out" or kidney failure was going to happen and I should get scoped for dialysis but could stoke out on the table (in front of my wife no less). No alternative ideas or suggestions. I am getting a second opinion.
