Fox was recently called to my mother-in-law's home for a small problem with a fixture that ended up being a faulty bulb. Not only did they charge her over $200 without identifying or fixing the problem, but they used scare tactics to entice her into spending thousands of dollars on unnecessary repairs to make her home "safer." She has lived in her home for 53 years and has never had a problem, but they frightened her so much, she came to our home shaking. They inferred she could be electrocuted in her home by turning on a plastic light switch and made all sorts of statements that really unnerved her. This is the type of behavior that puts black eyes on the entire contracting business. As a contractor/builder myself, I rail against this type of activity. I contacted them and they insisted they were doing a "community service", but it appeared to be "fishing" for business. In the end, the problem wasn't fixed (a different kind of bulb was the solution, btw) and she was billed over $200 for their "informative" consultation. Their business practices concern me greatly as I have never made it my practice to scare clients into doing something unnecessary. Beware! I do not recommend you call Fox Services for your electrical needs. read more
