Labor Day 2024 and our cottage washer backed up and flooded the floor. We called and left message…read moreand 30 min later, Earl called back. Unfortunately, we had called another plumber, unsure of how long a call back would be and scheduled a visit for today. Earl was very polite even though we had to tell him someone else was coming. We waited two hours for the other plumber to call when on way and then realized we should have stuck with Earl! Earl had cleared a clog for our neighbors the previous day. We called back Earl and he was considerate of the other plumber, not wanting to take the job from someone else. We assured him we would cancel the other plumber (someone part of a conglomerate and was fine with a cancellation). which we did and called back Earl. He explained that since we are on a septic, he wanted to help us know whether it was really a clogged line, which he could work on, or a failed septic or drain field which would be something he couldn't fix and we would end up having to pay him to come out and have nothing fixed. Earl took his time to explain to us how to check our septic tank and figure out if the field was working. Sure enough, the problem was a mat of roots. We cleared them out of the inlet pipe from inside the septic and clog was cleared. We offered to pay Earl for his advice and he declined. Needless to say, Mid Michigan plumbing will be our go to from now until the end of time. Highly recommend.

Our main drain backed up again this September 2026, only three months after they had serviced the same drain and installed an exterior cleanup for approximately $1000. My husband asked whether a camera had been used during the June 2026 service because we wanted to understand why the drain continues to back up. We were told a camera was not used and that there would be an additional charge to use one. When my husband spoke with the owner, Earl, he stated that the work order said I had requested that a camera not be used. The is simply not true. I was present during the June service and specifically asked the technician (his son) afterward whether he had seen anything that could explain the blockage. I was told no. I was extremely disappointed to then be told that I had requested not to have a camera used when I never made that request. ..... We have always paid our bills and have been loyal customers. We were also previously billed twice for June service and had to contact the office to have the duplicate invoice corrected. The plumbing issue itself is frustrating, but what was most disappointing was the lack of communication and being accused of saying something I did not say. After couple of years as customers, I expected much better customer service and accountability. Unfortunately, this expense has caused us to lose trust in the company.

Luckily we called Mr. Rooter and their excellent engineer Caleb Williams came the next morning. He arrived earlier than anticipated, but not so much earlier that it was inconvenient, agreed with my wife's diagnosis and fixed everything within an hour. The fee for that level of service and efficiency was entirely reasonable, Mr. Williams was polite, professional and surprisingly enthusiastic about what he found in the waste pipe, and I'd recommend this outfit thoroughly. These people are not right. I received an estimate for plumbing which came out to 9,500 which I…read morefelt was not bad. Upon bringing me the estimate for plumbing I asked did they install broilers. The plumbing and broiler estimate came to about 16,500. Which I was pleased with that price. After the install of the boiler one of the owners said the rest of the work would amount to 34,000. I told him he must be out of his mind. They give you a different price when they believe your insurance company will fork out that kind of money. I told them to take out the amount for the boiler install which was 6500 and write a check back to my insurance company. To date, I haven't received the check for my insurance company. My next step is court. They are not honest and have no moral values.

I called about a water heater quote, never mentioned a time or day or was not allowed to state what issue we have. In HER words "Call Lowes or Home Depot. We are a week out. Get someone else."
