Fox Mar Studios is one of those places that just brings back those great memories of high school. Since we all grew up in South FL we all have our Senior Portraits with them. Saturday was bitter sweet. It was that moment that you realize this part of growing up is reaching its end. My son is starting his senior year and off we went for his pictures. We were greeted nicely by staff when we arrived. I was a few minutes early for my appointment and had a short wait. Everyone was very accommodating to any of my request but the reason I'm giving Fox Mar 5 stars is for our photographer Kayla. She was awesome!!! Not only did we get the traditional pics everyone gets but we also got some different poses. When I arrived I told her I wanted her to do what she thought best and that I trusted her to be artistic. She was patient and took her time with us. I can't thank her enough for such a pleasant and fun afternoon. Kayla is super sweet and friendly. She's accommodating and is very professional. Thank you! I wish I could give a zero. I do think you guys need to hire more kid friendly photographers. As a parent who has 3 kids who buys the school packages this is the first one I received and I am not at all pleased. This is the easiest child to smile and he looks like no one tried to make him. (3 years old) He look like he took a mug shot. We need previews before we spend so much money on these school packages.This makes no sense to me. They need to do the same thing they did in the pandemic my oldest son had the best picture then. Because I was present. Before I would have taken it but no way. Horrible service- I paid additional $20 dollars so I can see my photos the same day well my appointment was at 5:30 no one told me that at 5:30 sales rep leave so they took my $20 / plus I had to wait 2 hours so I left at 7:30p I spoke to Mia and they couldn't help me, mind you I paid $82 dollars just to get the pictures taken and to see them the same day / no one can help actually the kids that work there were rude and nasty / definitely need to have better options for SENIOR PICTURES BECAUSE THIS PLACE HAS HORRIBLE SERVICE/ DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE!!! read more

Very disappointed in my daughters pictures. We were rushed through the photo taking process. Because we did not choose our poses (didnt know that was an option) the photographer was very basic. Your packages are very expensive. Add to that price the cost of having hair and makeup done. All of this money being spent $700 in total for photos that do not wow me. When I asked the photographer to please not use the red background on the senior chair pose, she insisted it was pink. We now ONLY have one picture in the senior chair with a red background that does not flatter my daughters red hair. When asked to use the cheetah background, the photographer literally placed my daughter in front of it and took a boring picture. What are your suggestions? How can we remedy the fact that my daughters once in a lifetime event with pictures that look like crap. read more

They are not professionals. They shot a picture of my son who is a special needs child who was horrible, instead of waiting for the one that came out best, anyone was taken. It was humiliating for me to receive that photo because it was seen as discriminated against for being autistic. These types of people should not take pictures of children because you pay for that service and it is not fair to receive something that is not acceptable. read more

First I was like "dang look at those prices! this is the mafia of photo business" I gave in ofcourse bc senior pictures are memorable and they were the only business (smart business tactic) My experience with FOX-Mar succeeded my expectations. The photographer did an excellent job wish I remembered his name to give him a shout out. Months later after surrendering the mentality of how much these pictures are going to cost I walked in to order one of their packages. Since I didn't have an appt didn't know what to expect or how long the wait. We were seated with someone right away. She was the veteran of the place - knew exactly what to do and helped us order because all the photos were beautiful. This place is a rip-off. I was forced by my daughter's school to take her senior pictures here. Packages are super expensive and I have had way more professional pictures in the JCPenny studios. After I spent a ton of money in buying a package, I request [rice for a single picture digital, since I need it to create a banner for the sport and they are charging $99, for one digital picture. What is that????? Seriously. Very disappointed. School should definitely look into find a better studio. read more

Their service is not bad but they don't honor appointment times which drives me NUTS! Had to wait an hour after my appointed to get my pictures taken. Most of the shots were not very good. I think they hire kids to do photoshoots instead of professionals . For that I'll do make own picks. read more

Fox Mar Studios - Upstairs waiting for previews - Specialty Schools Near Me - Miami, Florida

Honestly, Fox-Mar Photography should be ashamed of themselves. This is the company majority of high schools in Broward County use for their senior pictures. There is no way in heck, any family who are not financially well off would ever be able to afford the pictures. The smallest package that they offer is $90, and it comes with just a few tiny sized photos. In order to get any decent sized photo, you have to spend close to $200. I am a photographer with my own small up and coming business, I will be doing my daughter's pictures myself, the only reason we went there is because the Senior picture for the yearbook must be done there. I don't know how this company have been in business as long as it has. Catering to the rich is all they do. News Flash Fox Mar, you're located in Broward County and you're doing photos for high schoolers. At the very least, at least offer the option to purchase individual pictures for the parents who really want memories of their child, but can't afford it. SHAME ON YOU!!!! read more

I ordered digital prints and was given a password that did not work. I emailed the customer service email address a few times requesting assistance and no one has gotten back to me in over a week. Their automated email response states 2-3 business days. I am currently on a 15 minute hold with them waiting to sort this out. This is having to be done on my work time since they did not answer my emails. We are new to South Florida and this is not a very good first impression of a photography company for the schools. read more

I used Fox-Mar for my daughters' sports photos. A saga ensued. First, I was charged twice for one of my daughters photos. Called and they refunded. Fantastic. Then, I receive the photos, and the photos for all 3 of my daughters came incorrectly. Not what was paid for. I called and explained, they apologized and told me they would send the correct ones out right away. About a week later, I receive a call from the father of one of the other players on the team. He had received the photos for ONE of my daughters. He continued to tell me that his son's photos were received by some other family a few miles away. Thankfully he wasn't too far from me and I was able to meet him and get the photos. I then find out that it is still the wrong photo. I call them again and explain that my daughter's photo was randomly sent to the wrong home. They tell me they still have the correct ones scheduled to be on the way. I finally receive the final set of photos. Daughter #1: finally received exactly what was ordered, Daughter #2: received correct photo set up but with the wrong team name, Daughter #3: correct team name, and correct child's name listed, but had the photo of another child on it whose name is not even the same as hers! How does this happen?? How do they send me photos of the completely wrong child with my daughters name on it??? I got my refund and hope to never deal with them again. read more

Fox-Mar is the approved vendor for my children's school pictures. I prepaid for the photography using their online prepay platform and they put the incorrect school on the receipt. To try and fix this, I tried calling their customer service phone line repeatedly over the course of several days. I must have called about 8 times. Every time, I got put on hold and when the call was supposedly "transferred" to a representative, the line simply got cut off. I tried emailing their customer service and never got a response. THE WORST. Customer "service" is a total misnomer because they do not provide it. read more

We had a great experience with our photographer Allison she was most excellent and extremely professional! Our wait time was minimal which we appreciated. Now let me tell you that once I got upstairs my feelings changed drastically. The room was full to capacity I was informed that I had to sign in and wait to pick my daughters yearbook pic today because it was the last day to select it. So let me include that I paid $20 for color proofs plus another $53 for I have no idea what else so we go upstairs to select photo only to have the rudest encounter with a lady that deserved a starring role in hocus pocus as winifred (looks and nasty attitude) She informs me that if I want to pick my daughters photo I have to give her the proofs I just purchased 2 minutes ago because I am no longer allowed to keep them. WTF! I didn't even get a chance to look at them and shes like "well whatever its your choice" so ai have to choose to have time to look at my proofs or select a yearbook photo. Why even sell me the proofs which I do understand have to be returned within a certain time limit. I am sooo confused and appalled at this ladies attitude I even witnessed her arguing with another gentleman that had just arrived. Never seen someone behave in this manner. I didn't know that packages will be soooo expensive and for limited poses, I saw the prices ONLY when the session was already taken, if not you can be sure I will select another place. Is very tricky the way they make the packages, I paid around $80 for two outfits change session, ended up with 23 pictures in total, they came out really pretty but now because of the CRAZY prices I won't be able to print all the ones I wanted, also if I wanted digitally they cost me more than $400, for digitally pictures??? I had to take my senior pictures here and it's not worth it at all. My senior year is already so expensive, I almost paid $130 just to get the pictures taken and luckily the employees cut off some stuff that were unnecessary and ended up being $74.45 and a $20 fee to see the pictures the same day on a crappy magazine that had the pictures blocked with huge letters for copyright reasons. As I went to go pick which photos is when I found out I was charged only to take the photos. I had spent $100 on makeup already, and they expect me to pay $200 for 2 poses and they choose which format for the picture. I took 28 photos, and I can only pick two, but I have $11 for extra poses and I'm only getting 6 sheets for $200. And if I want unlimited poses with still a set amount of sheets, it's $400. They're huge scammers, the pictures are nice but very simple and I can't afford these, I'm just a student and if I wanna pick which picture to go in the yearbook, I have to buy a package and it's not worth it at all. read more

This is a SCAM!!!! They show you multiple sessions with the more you spend the more poses/outfits you get yet in the end you pay to not even receive them all. After paying for your session you take these photos in your 4+ poses and 2+ outfits to in the end paying $300 for a few wallet sized and medium pictures of only 3 poses?! You pay extra for extra poses but in the end if you want to have all your poses and pictures it's $400+. Also you can't pick which pictures you want. They give you a list like, 1- 8x10 and 5- 2x5s, etc..... what if i want 5 8x10s or 5 different pictures/poses? They don't let you do that. You have no options, waste time and money and are left with pictures you'll never have read more

Very unprofessional; after paying hundreds for pictures, I had to wait 6 weeks and when I called they had a "lab problem". I now have to wait a vague "couple more weeks" for the pictures. Horrible! I paid nearly $100 for a sitting fee and color proofs. We were finally taken back over 30 minutes late, then they took other clients during our session! The session itself wasn't any more than Target. My son was denied a picture outside, they didn't have any sports props (my fee was "upgraded" because we wanted sports shots) and the "color proofs" were maybe 1"x 2" printed on grainy paper with PROOF @Fox-Mar 2019-20 printed right across his face! Senior year book came in today and my daughter is devastated, her left eye is smaller than the right one. One eye is hazel ( natural color) and the other one is brown. I believe they are using softwares and therefore are distorting the faces. All picures are photoshopped to the max. We will have to go further to clean this up. STAY AWAY please. read more

Fox mar in miami lakes has the worst customer service. They made a mistake with my daughter's senior's pictures appointment and didn't want to take responsibility for their mistakes. Instead they wanted to blame us for their mistakes. What was supposed to be a proud day for my daughter, was a horrible experience for her. They made her cry on that day and she couldn't take her picture because her face was so puffy and red that we left that place. Miami Lakes is the worst place ever, even if you speak to the manager. She made things more complicated, for no reason at all. But thank God that the day wasn't a total lost. We went to the Kendall portrait studio and we were treated with respect. We had a great photographer. He was super great. I did talk to somebody in corporate, the only thing he offer me was 30% off, for our horrible experience but like I told him, the bad stands out than the good. No matter how good our experience was in the Kendall portrait studio. The Miami Lakes portrait studio was so out of hand and so terrible. That that's what stands out more unfortunately. And unfortunately I have to give you a star for me to post my review. I think that's so unfair, I wouldn't give you no star at all. You don't deserve it!!!!! read more

Prices are not just high, they are exorbitant. What a scam/monopoly. Like the other reviewer, I don't understand how Broward School Board allows this (unless payola is involved of course). So $30 just to take the photo and when you arrive "oh, for another $20 you can walk out with the proofs, otherwise you need to come back in person to select photos". Really? We're busy parents so we're going to burn 1-2 hours going back? Geez, which one do you think most people do? So there's $50 just for "sitting" fee. Not great but acceptable I suppose. The real rip-off starts when ordering on-line. First, not a particularly user-friendly website and no way to enlarge thumbnails to get a better view. Then you must select at least one package ($90 cheapest) before a la carte selection begins. What do parents who don't have $400-$500 do for HS grad picture? Last complaint is the Sunrise location had no gel, hairspray, disposable comb/hair brush etc. for touch-ups. That may not be an issue for female gender but was for father and son who don't carry around handbags. The only positive was the photographer was friendly, fast and efficient and no wait time when going on a Saturday at 9 am to beat the crowd. read more
