Earlier this month I received my June 2015 LSAT score of 176 and I couldn't be more thrilled. Though hard work and sacrifice underpin the effort as a whole, I credit reaching my dream score of 175+ to my work with Nathan. I worked with him across two Skype consultations and numerous emails in preparation for the June 2015 LSAT. Throughout the process, Nathan was timely, honest, direct, insightful, and considerate. In other words, exactly what you want from someone helping you score your best on the LSAT. This was going to be my second time taking the LSAT after receiving a 162 in September of 2014. While I was receiving significantly higher practice test scores than the last time I studied for the LSAT, my scores would jump up and down from test to test. Needless to say, as the test day moved closer this was cause for concern. Though I felt I had a strong understanding of the test, I thought that I could benefit from an outside perspective and an expert opinion. Nathan was just that. Together we identified types of questions and reasoning issues that I hadn't realized I was weak in and that were holding me back. By focusing on those areas, I was able to find consistency in my practice tests (175+) and better understand and incorporate the few mistakes that were left. Even outside of the consultations, Nathan was accessible by email for any follow-up questions and advice. In a few words, I strongly recommend Nathan Fox for anyone who has committed to taking the LSAT. He is an invaluable resource and is sincerely happy to share his wisdom and experience. I believe this to be true whether you are at the start of your studies or the end, whether you are taking an LSAT course or are studying on your own. As someone who is now moving their stack of LSAT books into the recycling bin, I hope that those reading this review take a moment and give Nathan a call or send him an email. I am glad that I did. As a side note, for those of you like me who were concerned about the cost I'll be frank. Law school is expensive and a significant determinant of your financial aid can be your LSAT score. I reviewed different options before trying Nathan out and there are other lower-cost options out there. However, given the unique nature of the LSAT (that it is a skill exam and a performance on test day) the quality of the person you work with and the ease you can work with them is essential. read more

The most challenging aspect of studying for the LSAT is that, for most all people, it's not a process that yields instant gratification. With the LSAT behind me, I can say for sure: you will not survive if you don't have at least a little bit of fun. Nathan Fox will make that possible while pushing you to your max LSAT potential. Nathan is capable of both conveying the technical skill that will streamline your study hours and infusing sarcasm and realness into the process. It is a superior combination--one that stood out among the various sample classes I took last year before deciding on Fox Test Prep. Utilizing Nathan's books (Logical Reasoning Encyclopedia and Logic Games Playbook) and his online course (which includes both lessons on critical skills and complete review of practice tests), I was able to make steady progress. There was a moment along the way where all of the LSAT stuff that had seemed so intricate, intimidating, and mysterious suddenly became simple, straightforward, and manageable. From this point forward, it was noticeably easier to identify my mistakes, which ultimately led to me making less of those mistakes. Additionally, I spent some time with Nathan's private tutoring over Skype and was amazed at how much I was able to learn in just a couple of hours. It was the most efficient studying and learning I've encountered in my lifetime and worth the investment without a doubt. Nathan will provide you with the skills you need to improve and will remind you constantly that this test is totally do-able until you actually come to believe him. With the law school admissions process behind me, I am so glad that I chose Fox Test Prep--it has been absolutely critical to my survival and success this past year. Beyond the LSAT, I am certain that the re-wiring that occurred as I prepped with Nathan's course significantly strengthened my arguments in general. This was an unexpected but welcome side effect. I know that I was looking for hard evidence in my search for an LSAT Prep company, that is, where students were accepted to law school. It has not been long since my applications were submitted, so I don't yet have that information. I can say that I was recently accepted to a T1 school with full scholarship--almost 100 times the amount of money I spent on LSAT prep. I hope that statistic is comforting as you start your LSAT journey : ). read more

I am always skeptical of sweeping five star reviews. I am here to tell you that the glowing reviews for Fox Test Prep, implausible though it may seem, are absolutely accurate. I swear, this guy was born to teach the LSAT. The LSAT material is some extremely DRY stuff. It is at its core truly, indisputably uninteresting. I would never have believed it had I not seen it go down before my eyes, but Nathan has an uncanny ability to make four hour logic game seminars interesting--entertaining even. He has a deep understanding of the material, and employs his wickedly wry sense of humor and sharp wit to dissect, translate, and break it down for ordinary non-brainiacs such as myself. Regardless of your phase in the LSAT preparation process, you will emerge from his class with a much more firm grasp of the LSAT. Nathan Fox is a gifted and generous teacher. He approaches each class with that verve reserved for those folks in this world who have found an occupation about which they are passionate. He expertly and patiently answers questions until there are no more questions to ask, checks in with his students often via email, and even offers himself up as an admissions counselor of sorts. He is genuinely interested in the success of his students, and encourages folks to stay in touch and let him know what programs they end up being admitted to and how they progress through law school and beyond. Nathan is absolutely committed to helping his students obtain some clarity amidst the dense fog of confusion enshrouding the LSAT. And his teaching works. Every person I spoke to in my class improved their scores significantly by the end of the four week session, myself included. I continue to study for the June LSAT, utilizing the tools and tricks I learned in Nathan Fox's class last January. Since completing the class, I have not hesitated to email him seeking his sage advice, which he has without exception graciously provided. I highly recommend any prospective Bay Area JD student do him/herself a favor and enroll in a Fox Test Prep class. read more

I am so glad I chose Fox Text Prep! I really can't say enough positive things about Nathan. While I definitely made a significant jump in my LSAT score- I think the most helpful thing about taking his class was the anxiety around the whole process that was lifted. It started on the first day with his law school application checklist in the front of the book and his inclusion of a great guide to admissions in the course materials. I knew I wanted to go to law school but before taking his class I really didn't know much about the process of applying and how to decide what school to go to. Between professors, family and friends I was getting a lot of pressure to go to a "top school." But my score really wasn't enough to get me there, and with my interest being in public interest and non-profits I was really concerned about costs. Nathan was happy to give me his opinion on schools and even hooked me up with a previous student of his who is attending one of the schools I was considering so I could pick her brain. After all this I feel much better about the prospect of attending a regional school- and thanks to his advice on applications I have a really good chance at getting a scholarship there. For those who are less concerned about advice and more concerned about just kicking the LSAT's ass I would say Nathan is still the way to go. He knows the LSAT inside and out and teaches in a style that makes you actually pay attention. I can't count how many times I laughed out loud in class. I particularly appreciate the nerdy star wars references. He also knows how to keep you from freaking the hell out by giving advice about how to tackle the week before the exam and he took us all out for much needed drinks (that he paid for! wow..). If you're looking to avoid the big name prep companies that just feel like a scam and want a real person who really cares about your success Fox Test Prep is really the way to go. read more

I took Nathan's 3-month course in preparation for the June 2011 LSAT. Simply put, his course is excellent. Nathan's course directly targets the most challenging LSAT subjects for nearly all test-takers - logical reasoning and the vaunted logic games - and his class is 100% centered around taking practice tests, which is by far the best method for LSAT preparation. You are assigned practice tests to do on your own time, and review the test in their entirety during each class session. As Nate aced the LSAT and served as an instructor for the other big names in LSAT prep, he's able to combine the best strategies taught by other instructors and some of his own individual expertise to teach you the best methods to attack each question. Watching him logically deconstruct each question/game to find the correct answer is a valuable teaching tool in itself. Best of all, I believe Nathan's course is valuable for any test-taker, regardless of where your score currently sits. His course took my average score from the high 160's to low/mid 170's, which makes a huge difference from an admissions standpoint. Students who had lower average scores to start the course saw much higher increases in their average score. Finally, Nathan is a great resource on all things law school. He is very candid about his experiences at UC Hastings and current job prospects for recent JD recipients, and even took the time to personally speak to a friend of mine (who did NOT take his course, mind you) to discuss her own law school prosects, his experience at Hastings, etc. which greatly helped her sort out her approach about going to law school. The text I got the next morning read as follows "Nathan changed my life. I can't thank you enough." In conclusion: 5 stars, no question about it. The course is excellent, and the extra feedback on top is icing on the cake. If you're in the Bay Area, I can't recommend Nathan highly enough. read more

I found Nathan using yelp and like every other review that you've read about Nathan, you know the yelp reviews hold true to everything they say. It's not very often that you can find a witty teacher that actually cares about his students' well being. If you've read any of his books, you know that he is more than willing to help you get through the terrors of the LSAT, so long as you are willing to reach out. Nathan takes an argumentative approach to the logical reasoning and reading comprehension that is consistent throughout the course. I can still hear Nathan's voice, arguing with the question/speaker, every time I take a practice test. His approach is abrasive and effective, but you have to be willing to put in the work. If you're struggling with logic games, TAKE FOX LSAT. Nathan's a master at the logic games, and his methods will stick over the course of your practice testing. As you practice, each game will be easier to answer with accuracy. Whether you're going into this course as an empty slate or as refugee from another LSAT prep course, your decision to take Fox LSAT is indispensable. On the first day of class, you'll receive a number of Nathan's books: read them and don't ever shy away from them. His books will keep you engaged even after you've left his class. If you've already purchased any of his books, I can assure you that the wittiness that you've read is exactly what you'll get in the class itself. Take the class, work hard at it, and you'll see your score increase. read more

Fox Test Prep was the best decision I made in my journey towards law school. I took the class in the Spring of 2012 while I was attending UC Davis with a full load of classes. Every Tuesday and Thursday I drove an hour and a half each way just so that I could take Nathan's class. It was definitely worth the time and I would do it again. I started out with a 149 on my LSAT and got up to a 165. I have been getting my acceptance letters and currently have a couple of full tuition scholarships in addition to plenty of scholarships offering half tuition, which was my goal because I really don't want to be $200,000 in debt when I graduate law school. The great thing about Fox Test prep is that it is straight forward. Nathan doesn't waste your time like a lot of other test prep companies; he just teaches you how to be good at the LSAT. After a few weeks of his class the test doesn't seem scary or difficult at all! One of the other things about taking Fox Test Prep is that Nathan has a lot of great advice! He doesn't give biased information like a lot of law school experts who are just trying to sway you in the direction of a certain school. He knows about what is important in choosing a law school, how to get the most money out of them, and what being in law school is actually like. He really wants to help you make the best decision for your future because he genuinely cares about his students! read more

Simple. No Nonsense. Intuitive. Nathan Fox's online course is the best bang for your buck because of its superior content and the high level of support that Nathan provides along the way. Nathan's methodology is very straightforward. You first complete a test at your own pace (whether as 35 minute timed sections or in one sitting) and then watch the accompanying video explanations in which he unpacks the test in full detail. Nathan does not use unnecessarily complicated, puzzling terms that many other prep companies use; instead, he explains the test in a way that is extremely clear and intuitive, that is, commonsensical. Plus, you can always re-watch the videos if you still have questions about a particularly difficult concept. The course also comes with all of Nathan's books, including a logical reasoning book that contains over 500 questions with full explanations for extra practice. The best thing about the course has to be direct access to Nathan. Whenever I have a pressing question about a concept, he always answers my emails or calls promptly and in a helpful manner. Nathan genuinely cares about your progress as a teacher and is not afraid to take time to help you succeed. I have recently received my September 2016 LSAT score and am pleased to see a 10 point increase from my initial practice test score. Thank you Nathan! read more

I simply cannot say enough good things about Nathan and his classes that prepared me for the LSAT. I took his 4 week course leading up to the June 2012 LSAT, having never taken a practice test or seen an LSAT question before starting. Nathan is a fantastic teacher whose emphasis on the Logic Games and Logical Reasoning helps students learn quickly and thoroughly. I improved by leaps and bounds, and was ready to dominate the test by the time I took it. The only regret I have is that I wasn't able to take a longer course with him! The best part about Fox Test Prep, in my opinion, is that Nathan is so much more than an LSAT teacher. He takes time out of his lessons to make sure you approach the law school admissions process the right way - by applying as early as possible, and taking advantage of rolling admissions and scholarship money. The proof is in the pudding - by following Nathan's advice, I've already been accepted to Cornell Law School and UCLA School of Law, with a generous scholarship offer to the latter. I absolutely believe this would not have been possible without Nathan's guidance. I recommendation Nathan's courses to anyone who plans to take the LSAT and attend law school. I promise that there is no better resource you can have when it comes to doing well on the test and even better in the admissions process. read more

I found Fox Test Prep on yelp and enrolled in eight weeks of classes before the December 2013 LSAT. I have to say that Nathan Fox is as good at it gets and I could not have imagined a better LSAT teacher. Nathan owns his company and the treatment that you get his unrivaled by any of his competitors. I improved 16 points on my LSAT and ended up scoring in the 90th percentile. The classes with Nathan are two days a week for four hours. Although that is a long time, Nathan made it seem as quick as possible. He is a funny no bullshit kind of guy who believes that the only way to improve your LSAT score is to practice the test. The homework consisted of doing about two tests every week and going over them in class. Nathan makes everything super clear and is always willing to answer questions. He gives out his cell phone and is pretty much always available. He emails you back promptly and will answer inquires about any aspect of the law school process. Nathan has helped me out with my personal statement and and figure out where I have applied to school. When I hear back, I will definitely want his input about deciding where I should go. If you are interested in LSAT help, look no further. Nathan Fox is the best in the business. read more

I decided to take Nathan's class after sitting in on a free seminar he provided at my school earlier in the year. His no BS attitude and straightforward advice caught my attention and I knew that he would honestly tell me what I needed to work on and how to do so. So far, I have taken one class with Nathan and my score jumped 6 points in only 4 weeks. He is so knowledgeable about the LSAT and law school in general and never shies away from giving his real opinion on a topic. Nathan is extremely funny, casual, and really makes the LSAT seem surmountable. The biggest thing I have gained from him so far (other than an extra 6 points!) is confidence that I can do this and that the LSAT will not over power me, rather I will be able to attack it and beat it once and for all. I am very happy with Nathan so far and have already signed up for another class with him. Everyone who I have spoken to who have taken a class with him have loved him as much as I do and had only good things to say about him, his class, and his teaching methods. Yes, he swears quite a bit, but that's just part of his no-nonsense approach that really, truly works. I highly recommend Nathan and his class, you will not regret sitting in on this class!!! read more

I studied for the LSAT by myself because I couldn't afford those courses that cost thousands of dollars. After finding out about Nathan's crash course, I decided to give it a try, because I knew my mid 150's practice scores wouldn't cut it for the schools I wanted. The course was amazing, it never even felt like I was in there for 8 hours either day. Nathan is both engaging and keeps everything 100% real. There's just something in his explanations that make your brain go "Oh yeah that makes sense." He doesn't use those mumbo jumbo test prep words that the books I was studying from used, everything was plain English. Not only does he help you with the test, but he answers questions about the entire law school process and remains a resource for you even giving you his cell phone number to call and talk if you have questions. I received my score the other day, and I scored in the 90th percentile!! Nathan was the first person I told after my mother, because I knew I couldn't have done it without him. If you want to not just improve your score, but get an overall better understanding of the entire process of law school there really is no one better than Nathan and you definitely won't find anyone more affordable. read more

You can expect to see improved test results by taking FOX LSAT with Nathan Fox!! FOX LSAT is I think the most affordable and effective LSAT class yet. Truly a great course with a passionate instructor and it's for a great price! Cheaper than the big name companies who are also not as effective in ensuring their students are fully prepared when coming against the LSAT. Plus all materials are included! You don't have to bring a thing! Nathan Fox provides all books, practice scan-trons (to simulate actual test taking protocols) and pencils. He's a 1-man show, so he does all the customer service, and even that is great because he's prompt in returning any messages, e-mails, calls and answering any questions about the class. He's also courteous and highly flexible in arranging payments. It doesn't stop there either ... when it comes to law school in general, Nathan has much experience with this as well so you can ask him questions about law school, applications, whether going to law school is something you should really pursue, reasons for why you want to do law school, what you should really expect and more! If you're considering taking a prep LSAT course and want to do well on the LSAT - TAKE FOX LSAT!!!!!! read more

I just finished my 8 week course with Nathan and could not be happier with my choice of going with Fox Test Prep! I knew that I was going to take a prep course before taking the test because I am one of those kinds of people who needs hands on learning in order to grasp the complex concepts you need to get a great score on this test. I chose Fox because of his ridiculously good reviews on here and other sites and like I said Nathan for sure lives up to his reputation. The guy has a gift for teaching, many of the concepts that you need to learn in order to kill this test are quite dry but he does an awesome job of keeping things interesting. This one was area that I really benefited from because I was one of the slower learners in the class so his no BS style did a great job of keeping me from getting frustrated. Another area he excels in is that he is always available to offer help, whether it is before the class starts, during the weekend, or after the completion of the course. Beyond just being a great way to learn how to beat the lsat his prices are a lot cheaper than all of the other prep courses out there. Do yourself a favor and sign up with Fox Test Prep! read more

I took the online course for Fox LSAT Test Prep. Very glad I picked this one. Since I live out of the city, I didn't have too many options for LSAT courses. I needed online. There are a plethora of online LSAT courses. Nathan's gave me the class feel and support I needed. The videos for the online courses are past LSAT test prep classes Nathan taught. You get the feeling of being in a classroom in the comforts of your own home. Being able to pause the class and rewind over parts was incredibly helpful. Something that can't be done in an actual class. The web interface for the class was easy to use. I was also sent a binder of LSAT practice tests, conceptual quizzes, and his test prep book with a lot of useful information. This was a very organized and helpful tool. The best part about Fox LSAT Test Prep was the individual support from Nathan. Nathan routinely checked up on me via email and was available to take any questions that came up. I never had to wait long for a response either. I am very impressed with how responsive Nathan is and how dedicated he is to helping. I highly recommend Fox LSAT Test Prep for anyone thinking about law school. read more

After 2-3 months of self studying, I hit a wall. I could not seem to reach the 170 mark I was aiming for. My average PT score was around 167/168 and I knew (because of the Thinking LSAT podcast and Nathan's LR Encyclopedia) that if I was going to pay for a class or a tutor, I was going to hire Nathan. I enrolled in his online class 2-3 months before my scheduled June LSAT and the amount I learned was well worth the price! My average went up to approximately 174 with my highest PT being a 177. The material is great and Nathan is great to answer any questions along the way. I took the June LSAT two days ago and feel I would not have been able to do as well as I feel I did if it had not been for Fox LSAT. I work 50-70 hours a week and his class and material are great for those of us with a busy schedule. It helped give some more structure to my study plan as well as give me options to learn from in the moments throughout the day that I only had 10 minutes to invest into studying. I am so glad that I decided to invest the money and time into this class which ultimately invested in me what I needed to reach the 170 mark I was aiming for and more! read more

One of the think I really appreciated of the course is that after only 3 weeks it gave me a solid foundation that allowed me to work by myself on the practice for the test, and my score had improved considerably. Nathan explained clearly the underling structure of logic games, and told us the best ways to approach the reading and the analytical reasoning sections. There are no special tricks, it is a matter of practice and diligence, and Nathan pushes you to work hard during his course. It is a 360 degrees preparation course. Nathan not only revealed with clarity the logic beyond the test questions, but he is also honestly concerned that people make the right decision applying to law schools. He gave extremely useful information about the application process, from the number of Law School to which apply to the personal statement and professor references. It seemed to me that Nathan was genuine in his care for students, and his care and help goes far beyond the course duration. The course is well worth the price and I definitely recommend it to anybody who is considering taking the LSAT. read more

I had a really wonderful experience working with Nathan. I emailed Nathan to ask some questions before signing up for the course and within 20 minutes I received a phone call from him! I was able to speak honestly and openly with him and he was incredibly informative. That night I signed up for his online LSAT review course. From the start of my work in the review book and watching the lessons posted to his site, I emailed Nathan with questions in which he provided feedback almost instantaneously. He provided positive reinforcement and recommended specific tactics/approaches on completing the next practice exam. Due to personal reasons, I decided to put the LSAT on hold for now and Nathan was very understanding. He even provided a partial refund. He is really great to work with and if I choose to return to this, I will definitely sign back up for his review course. If you are looking for a LSAT review course that is not a waste of time and money, sign up for Nathan's course!! Thanks a lot Nathan! read more

I decided to take an LSAT course from Nathan waaay in advance (5 to 6 months) of my actual exam. The first practice exam I took, I scored in the upper 140s (pretty depressing). Now, I'm scoring in the upper 160s. After months and months of digesting/practicing the various techniques Nathan taught me, things are starting to click and figuring out the right answers are becoming intuitive. The great thing about Nathan is that he makes the LSAT seem really approachable and thoroughly beatable, which is essential since your view of the exam can hugely determine your final score. I think one of the reasons for my 20 point jump is because I literally see the LSAT as one big game/puzzle I can eventually win w/patience and a lot of practice (kind of like the stupid games I play on my Bberry for hours). Now, I just look at the questions and scoff at them. I mean, really, can't the testmakers come up w/more creative, difficult questions to throw at me? :0) Thanks, Nathan! read more
