Had to remodel our bathroom in our house - and we only have a single bathroom. So, I spent a decent amount of time looking at vanities, toilets, bathtubs, fixtures, etc. across different stores and online. Wound up stumbling into Fox Home Center while checking out different places. Honestly, Fox Home Center is probably not the best place to go if you are looking for the cheapest option. But, if you want quality items and, at least from what I experienced, a near "one stop shop" with good customer service, I would recommend Fox Home Center. Mark was great to work with. He answered all my questions and was honest with me. The vanity I originally wanted, he explained, would not arrive in time for our project. So, he helped me find a great alternative. We wound up buying a "display" mirror for a significant discount and we love it. Mark made sure the display was not damaged (a real challenge as this was a big mirror) with shipping. Something that made me trust Mark- to make sure I wasn't getting ripped off, on my own, I went to manufacturer (Moen) website. Turns out Mark was offering me the Moen "sale price", the lowest price that Moen would give if you worked with them directly. That made me feel pretty good, as I had not even asked Mark to give me a discount. When I asked to ship all this stuff to my house, there was no problem or fee. He kept it all together for me at the store as each time arrived, making it easy to keep it together. All items arrived and installed as described. To really top off the good customer service - the Toliet we ordered wouldn't fit (not Mark fault, because Contractors didn't measure until end of project). But, Mark took the Toliet back without hesitation and gave me a full refund. I plan on purchasing from them again in the future, and I am happy to support a local business. read more

A confusing and intimidating bathroom remodeling project became clear, well structured and efficient due to Kim. The store team is great too, Nick was awesome, provided technical information on a product in a prompt and accurate manner! Daryl is very friendly and approachable, ready to help. Delivery team is professional and punctual. The store has a nice showroom, wide selection of products and the ability to find and order desired items if they are not in stock. It's one stop shop which is extremely convenient. The Staff communicates with manufacturers and keeps the process under control until job is done. I stopped by Fox home center in Alsip, IL. last week. I was looking for the perfect backsplash to cover my kitchen wall. This place is so overwhelming with so many choices. The light fixtures are even more stunning inside as they grab your attention from the parking lot. Some items are a bit pricey so look around before purchasing. Items can be returned except for clearance and special orders. Good store, especially when looking for ideals. read more

I went in to order railings for our front steps. They showed me an example on the floor what it would look like and that's what I wanted. I provided all the dimensions and the guy wrote up the order and drew a picture of the steps. We had Fox's install a fence and gate before and when I asked when it would be ready for them to install, he said we have to install them ourselves. We were looking at the pre assembled ones from Amazon, but felt we would get better service and fit going to Fox's for custom steps. Just know when they write on the invoice to be made/delivered they delivered random length of pvc pipes, box of miscellaneous parts and no instruction. My husband called them and was first told they actually do installed them, then he called back and was told they don't. He was giving 3 numbers to call for local guys they recommend. One guy never answered, one guy doesn't do railings and the 3rd guy is charging us $500 to "actually make" the railings from the pieces they delivered. read more

We drove 45minutes to check out the decking display in the store. The setup is nice but the displays are a bit unorganized so it was hard to figure out which boards on display corresponded to which manufacturer, line, and product. We were looking at samples for over an hour and not one person came over to help us, asked if we needed anything, or offered their support. It wasn't a busy day and there weren't many customers in the store; we saw and heard no less than 6 salespeople at the service desk, laughing, talking amongst themselves, horseplaying. A couple salespeople even walked right past us through the section and completely ignored us. While the decking display helped us explore options, we will be purchasing elsewhere. read more

Got fired from here in high school because I was accused of "rolling dice" and "gambling" but ill give 5 stars because this day and age globalism has DESTROYED main street and the American way of life. I have tremendous respect for the owners of this business and many others like it. Today was my second visit to this store. The first time was a year ago. Just the same- horrible customer service. I would not be surprised if their sales dwindle to the point of being out of business. If I could, I would give NO star. I like to support local stores and that's why I visited the store. I was looking for door knobs and possibly talk to someone about kitchen remodeling as I am ready to buy and do the project. After I walked in, I saw two young girls sitting up front which I only figure later that it was a register. It was not clear and I didn't see any sign for check out. Anyway, both girls were busy on their phone and with each other. It wasn't busy and it was obvious I just walked in. No, greetings or "did you need any help?" ,at all. I found the knob after walking around half of the store because there was no one to ask. Then, I wander near kitchen cabinets design. A lady was sitting at her desk writing something. She didn't bother to look up and ask if I need any help. There was another guy helping another customer. I wander around the kitchen model thrice and by then, the male salesmen was done with the customer and back at his desk. He didn't look at me and didn't ask if I needed any help or that he'd be with me momentarily. I guess they don't want to help anyone and/or want to sell any service. Great job in ignoring potential customer. Lastly, at check out, I purchase 5 door knobs. The young cashier asked me if I want a bag. I guess she expect me to hold all of them in my tiny hands. Unfortunately I'm going to review this place ONE STAR. Customer service was terrible. I had asked for help with some tiles and the young lady at the register up front had tried to help me, but the tile that I wanted was all scratched up and I wanted a different one, so she said to take the display tile. I looked at the display tile and it was also scratched. She got mad since I didn't want the damaged ones. Who would want the messed up ones anyways? Long story short I was going to buy a lot from them today and they lost my business. It's sad when you want to buy from a business, but the employees ruin the experience for you. read more

Almost nobody was wearing a mask. At most, a quarter of the employees were wearing masks. There were actually more customers wearing masks than employees (maybe 50%). Of the four employees I interacted with, one was masked up. Both cashiers were unmasked, and they interact with virtually everyone who comes into the store. As far as I know, the Illinois mask mandate is still in effect. And even if it weren't, showing a small amount of consideration for the health of your customers would be nice. Hardly worth mentioning, I suppose, but I always like it when people do what they say they will do. I ordered about $1200 worth of red cedar, of various sizes and shapes, and they delivered Exactly what I paid for, Exactly when they said they would. Stacked it in my garage, no problem. The bonus was when I asked the driver if he had ever seen any wood siding like my garage, because it is hard to find. He said, Oh yeah, we have that. And they do. read more

I hate writing a bad review. But I am truly frustrated with a bathroom vanity we purchased. It is over two months since I contacted my salesperson Mark K and nothing is being resolved. The counter was looked at by the manufacture reps and they said it should never have passed inspection and left the factory. It was made by BERTCH and apparently, they do not stand by their products. The counter was poured poorly and there are noticeable marks. The manufacturer rep had someone buff out the counter and it looks even worse now. The cabinet doors are not the ones I ordered which I learned was a mistake by the salesperson who sold me on the doors I didn't get. The doors are not properly finished and have rough edges and some paint is missing. I was promised a phone call back in a few days from Mark and it is over 2 weeks and I am still waiting. A few years ago we purchased a counter from Home Depot for our other bathroom and it is much nicer and was less expensive. Sad that we spent so much money at Fox Home Center on a substandard product and poor customer service. I typed this review yesterday and before I hit send I called Fox Home Center. I live a hours drive from Fox Home Center. I am doing a deck project on the house we live in and I drove the distance to Fox Home Center because they are the only place I could find that actually has the different types of decking on display. This was very helpful to me to be able to see in person the different styles of decking and all the colors in person. I was amazed that several places sell the different decking so but no one shows them in there stores. So finding Fox Home Center was quite sautéing for me and made all the thoughts in my head come together to where I felt very comfortable in my decision. But the best part of all of my dealings with Fox Home Center is my sales lady YAZMEEN. she was amazing. For me this is a 4,000.00 purchase and I was confused as to witch way to go. Yazmeen spent a lot of time with me showing me the different manufactures and there products and when we decided on Trex she took her time walking me thru everything step by step. She's amazing. Even when she sensed I wasn't keeping up with what she was explaining to me she would walk me back to the displays and show me again. Yazmeen took her time with me. I am a person that can't really afford to hire someone to put a deck in for us and she gave me a support network with herself and with A Trex rep should I run into any trouble. I didn't even know you could bounce back to them for help. I could go to several places by my house in Chicago and place a order for all the things needed to do this. But I drove for a 3rd time to Fox Home Center to buy from them because of Yazmeen. If you are a homeowner and are doing a deck yourself to save the high cost of installation you should drive the distance to Fox Home Center and ask to speak with Yazmeen. I had no clue what I was doing, but the young man named nick in the yard department gave me the whole run around and taught me what I needed for the job I needed to make my lawn look perfect in time for spring. I won't lie, I'm pretty young and it's my first project for my home, but with his assistance, I was able to make it look beautiful with the materials he helped provide. read more

My first bad review ever here. Hate to say bad things about anyone let alone on a public forum but this is why sites like this exist and I feel that people have a right to know. The customer service is bad. Disrespectful. Like you're bothering them. I'm a pretty positive guy and easy guy to get along with but I'll tell you it was bad. I ordered a fence, they missed my delivery date. It happens. No big deal. One problem was that they called me the day of the scheduled delivery (about a week after I ordered it) saying that they didn't have the lumber to make it. That would have been helpful a day or 2 earlier. I had a crew on site ready to install the panels, had the old fence ripped out and new posts in. My gamble I know. Had a big party the following week to finish it by. I said ok let's go ahead with the 3/4" panels instead of the 5/4" which is what I wanted in the first place but was told they couldn't do with this design. Never understand this but ok. It's practically the same fence. Was also told these were much cheaper (but certainly not cheap) which I expected as this similar design is priced out on the website. I'll pay for quality and for that which is made locally. 4 days later I get a call saying panels are on the way over. Eta - 20 mins. That's my advance notice. So I say I'll race home to go meet them, inspect panels and make final payment. They said hurry or we will leave. I got there and they are gone. Oh yeah and the price is the same as the thicker more expensive panel which I did NOT get. I called them back, they said it'll have to be another day and another delivery fee. Amazed at the how wrong this all is I said hey can you call them and see if they are close and if maybe they can swing back. Let's just get this done shall we. They came back 10mins later. So they come down $15 in cost per panel instead of the $60 that I expected. I needed the panels now so I paid the extra cost. Guy on the phone was over the top rude and crass. Oh and also sat on hold a lot during the previous week, was disconnected, 2calls never returned. I get it - big company, busy. But how about a simple apology once in a while. They just don't seem to care. That's the worst part about all of this. I'm done with fox. Ps - fence panels look good, had to fix a few panels. Pss- they should look good for $150 ea. Psss- I'll never get these review-writing 15mins back. Maybe that's the worst part. read more

No sanitizer available anywhere including at check out once you used their pen for signature for credit card purchase. Two customers came up to me both wearing masks as I was and were appalled at the lack of precaution. Made my purchase and immediately left. read more

Yelp Fox home center I wish I had read the yelp reviews before I went shopping at Fox Home Center. I was very disappointed in the service & would recommend that others look somewhere else for help in choosing high end custom cabinets. The people who work there are fine until you've paid for your order and then they are argumentative and rude if you have any problems. I recently spent over $1700 for a custom bathroom vanity & sink at Fox Home Center. I went to their Home Center because I thought I would get more assistance than I would at a local big box store. Unfortunately, the young salesman made a few serious mistakes on my order that ended up costing me about $600 more in installation fees. When I called to discuss the problems, Mark, the salesman refused to admit any errors or even offer any regret or apology to me for the extra costs incurred. I understand how it's uncomfortable to admit mistakes so I asked to speak to the manager, Mike. I expected the manager to listen to my concerns and at least offer an apology. However, Mike was very argumentative, dismissive, and actually spoke over me when I was trying to explain the problems with my order. I think this is unbelievably rude to treat your customer with such condescension. (I hadn't even asked for any compensation. I just wanted to be heard.) I went to Fox because I thought they would give me more guidance than a big box store would offer but I would have actually gotten more help at Menards or Home Depot.) read more

I was surprised at all of the negative reviews. I had a far different experience when I purchased my fence from them. They were very accommodating in working me into their busy spring schedule. Although there was 2 days that they didn't come when they said they would during the installation but the gentleman in charge made sure to stay in contact with me. I have a beautiful fence that they worked out every detail to make sure I got exactly what I wanted. They may not be the least expensive but I believe I got what I paid for. Years ago my mother purchased some cabinets from here which is what led my husband and I to come here. We walked in yesterday looking for kitchen cabinets, their were 3 salespeople at their desk one was helping a customer and the other two were on the phone. The female associate appeared to be having a personal conversation laughing and talking loudly and the other guy kept looking up at us but when we made eye contact looked away. We stood there for about 5 minutes and was never asked if we needed help or even acknowledged, they could have said we'll be with you shortly but nothing of the sort happened! They definitely need improvement on their customer service but I will not recommend or solicit them. read more

STAY AWAY- they ruin your walls and floors Very poor customer service. We had a linen closet delivered and when the delivery guy delivered it he ruined the corner of a wall stripping the dry wall to the metal corner as well as scratched out brand new finished floor. When we called, Mike the manager said that they are not to bring in the material but if they do, they do it as a courtesy. Never was this told to us. They claimed they can't have anyone to come out and fix their mistake. Horrible business and they just don't care about their customers. "You get what you pay for". Perhaps they should rename the store the Fox "Off Brands" Center. They have no well-known name brands that I could find. The cabinets are an off brand. They utilize high-pressure sales people like a furniture store. The tile they sell - the back has a stamp "Premium Porcelain". There's no other mention of a brand. There's "A B" near the lower left corner and "Made in China" in the lower right. It's not a quality tile - yet they sell for prices higher than Home Depot or Menards. The sales people are rude - and the service counter people are even more rude. They have no computerized system for inventory...it's a paper-based system from the Lucille Ball days of television. And the salesman C.J. lied to me about a "filler piece" for the cabinetry. They charged $70 and he told me we could return it if we didn't need it. Well - we didn't need it and they won't take it back, citing "special order" status, even though it comes from their cabinet distributor. I recommend going elsewhere - literally anywhere else. Avoid these dinosaurs. read more

Remodeling our master bathand working with ChrisDouglas. Would highly recommend the store and Chris, there employees were very knowledgable. The prices are very reasonable and the sales person looks to find products that fit in your budget. They have top quality stuff, have a lot of tile samples to choose from also. This was actually our second bath we ordered through Fox, we used them 3 years ago and remodeled another bathroom and were very satisfied with everything. read more

Dishonest scam artists! It's as simple as that. I have ordered cabinets from them on two occasions now. I should have learned my lesson the first time. They will purposely screw up the order so that you get the wrong sizes and them blame you for it so that they can get more money out of you for replacements. And it won't just be a single replacement. They will drag it on as long as they can. In both instances, several years apart, they supposedly ordered replacements, but when the replacements came, they were still wrong. They just change one little thing to make it look like they tried. And don't expect the cabinets you receive to look like the ones on display. The ones you're going to get will be in way worse condition. The finish on the ones we got looked like they let a 2 year old go at them with a can of spray paint. And yes, as a lot of the other reviews state, customer service is horrid here. I have but great lumber at fox in the past. Today I tried to return an unused uninstalled toilet seat to cost $50 that had bad hardware and they said they don't take returns on any toilet seats with an open box. I have been shopping here for 30 years I will never shop there again read more
