No notes. One of the best places to play golf on the west side of Denver. Each of the three 9s is unique, fun and has great views. The driving range is huge, putting and chipping areas are pretty big and feels like a great local municipal course. The Den also is a great spot for food and drink before or after your round. read more

Fox Hollow Golf Course - Golf Near Me - Lakewood, Colorado

The City of Lakewood arrogant employees at Fox Hollow act like the clubhouse and course(s) are a country club. Additionally, the place is extremely overstaffed with employees standing around doing absolutely nothing for hours. The City of Lakewood is not overseeing the absolutely unacceptable waste of taxpayer dollars going toward paying for staff that are not needed. I've even seen starters secretly taking swigs of alcohol from their not as well hidden flasks. The place is a joke. read more

Course is ok, but the marshall was crazy rude. Telling us to play faster multiple times when the group behind us was an entire hole behind, and we were perfectly on pace with the group in front of us. I've never experienced this anywhere else, and he absolutely ruined our time for no reason. Not gonna play here again any time soon. read more

Fox Hollow: where my golf game went to die... but at least it died somewhere beautiful. Showed up thinking I was Tiger Woods. Left realizing I'm more like a guy named Greg who owns one club and uses it for everything. But credit where it's due--this course is a stunner. Rolling fairways, sneaky water hazards, and greens that politely reminded me I'm not on the PGA Tour. Staff? Legends. Friendly, chill, didn't judge my bunker residency. Pace of play was smooth--nobody breathing down your neck unless it's your own swing thoughts. 10/10 would return for another round of "why do I do this to myself?" Highly recommend if you love nature, self-reflection, and chasing balls into the woods. read more

Fox Hollow Golf Course - Golf Near Me - Lakewood, Colorado

The starter on Meadows 9 today, Ed, just gave our tee time away today to a random golfer with the single that was supposed to play with our group. When confronted about why he gave our tee time away, he started yelling at my girlfriend and I about how one of us is going to have to play with the group behind, and how we have to "respect" him. Just own up to your mistake and make the single play behind with the other group. Simple. But no, Ed is not a logical person. He insisted that we were the issue, and proceeded to talk to group behind us about it. I was comped a free 9 which is cool, but this is my 3rd time having issues with Ed, as well as others from past groups having issues. Should maybe look into new help? Also, his breath smelled bad really bad. So at least toss him a pocket of mint before he starts "greeting" the golfer before the round read more

Nice course but they suck at maintaining the course so you can't take carts on it. Other courses dont have this issue and have less water availability. read more

For people to beat on Fox Hollow Golf Course - well, I just don't understand it, was your round that terrible? We were visiting Colorado for a concert at Red Rocks, but the bonus was clearly finding this gem of a public course. In August, when the grass at most courses in the east is more baked than the audience at a Dead concert, I found Fox Hollow was in really good shape from tee to green. 3 9-hole courses accommodated alot of golfers early on a beautiful Saturday morning. The restaurant and pro shop were bustling, but not too crowded to feel like we'd miss our tee time. Practice facilities are more than adequate and the range, while not tour level is certainly adequate. Changes in elevation and right-left, left-right routing of holes kept it interesting. No pushy marshals of which others post here. Just a very relaxed round. Can you lose golf balls on a wide open course - of course. But don't let that interfere with a chance to experience a 5764 ft. above sea level course. Rental clubs are available and as I recall we had a decent set of Cobra sticks. After the round - enjoy a cold one in a cozy restaurant. Easy to get to and park. Only reason this course gets 4 stars is the line of people who want to get onto the course as walk ups. Make a reservation! read more

Interesting and well maintained course/s. It's 3-9hole courses which pair in different combinations to make your 18. Fun.

GTFOH! Less than 3 stars???? Ridiculous people. This place is wonderful. You've got 3 different style 9's to choose from and the staff is fantastic. The food isn't half bad. What do people expect for the love? I swear some people complain just to complain. read more

*review is for driving range and restaurant Overall, $10 for a large bucket of range balls to hit off grass late October is a steal. While the grass wasn't amazing, it sure beats hitting off mats. The putting green was nice, and the chipping green had a lot of area to work around. Just one pin, so one person at a time really, but good practice. For the restaurant, the staff couldn't have been any friendlier. Disappointing how expensive a chicken sandwich was, but it was decent. Heard poor things about course marshals, but can't speak to that as I didn't get a round in. Also no cell service here, but wifi in the clubhouse. read more

Really rude marshal staff. They need to chill out. They act like they're a 5-star country club. We were right behind the group in front of us all day, and the marshal kept making really snide comments about how there was an "entire whole open in front of us." In addition to that, he was sitting in the middle of the path on 17, so I pulled my cart around him because he wasn't moving. He said "stay out of the native." The only reason I pulled around him was because his cart was parked in the middle of the path. I won't be supporting this club with my money again any time soon due to how rude the staff is. read more

Take this with a grain of salt because I'm like a 100-107 golfer, depends on how I hit my driver, but today was the worst experience I've ever had at a golf course. Granted I've golfed here 4 weekends in a row; today was exceptionally horrid. Started off on hole 1.. waiting to tee off. Hole 3- Our group (my 2sum- paired with a random 2sum) was rudely and condescendingly harassed by a female marshal for driving into the rough to get access to a ball; not the native, but the rough. Was told to search for our balls in the rough on foot- without the cart & that the cart could not leave the fairway once inside the fairway. Did I forget to mention the dead mowed grass left all over the rough everywhere with no attempt by the course to clean the dead grass "because it's easier for maintenance people" - direct quote from female marshall. Nowhere does fox hollow state rules or guidelines stating "no driving into the rough"; we're NOT talking the long native grass; which would be understandable, yet I'm talking the rough (the 2nd cut). Fox hollow has guidelines posted on every cart on a laminated card stating to "keep in carts in fairways, as much as possible," but nowhere does it say "can't drive into rough." Two completely different things. Hole 4- I called and complained to the clubhouse in the fairway for being disrespected by the elderly female marshall. We're adults; don't condescend me and treat me like I've never golfed before. Now get to hole 5, I politely spoke to a different older male Marshall with a grey beard about the previous elder female Marshall to ask about the "rough" rule that I've never experienced before (& this is my 4th week in a row at this course; and the first I'm hearing of this). During our interaction he was polite; I'll give him that until I mentioned I called the clubhouse to complain about the previous female Marshall for her attitude and disrespect towards me as a customer. Then his attitude towards the group changed (making me feel like they're a married couple). Hole 7- We were harassed by the same 2nd gentlemen Marshall with the grey beard for buying drinks from the cart lady; saying get a move on; when the group ahead of us is still in the fairway on a par 4. Like you really want us to hit into them? Where is the golf etiquette? They're not even on the green yet. Move along to hole 14 and we were harassed by the starter (3rd Marshall); a Sam Elliot wannabe with the mustache; saying the group in front of us is lagging behind & our group ping should be on our 2nd stroke for the hole. We just tee'd off & we're driving up the cart path to hit our second stroke. Based on the guidelines posted on every cart and the average golf time of 2.25 hours posted by fox hollow for 9 holes; he had no reason to harass this group of paired 2sums. At the end of the day we were 10 minutes behind and most of that time was the spent in contact by 3 different Marshalls; and the assistant manager Paula meeting our group on hole 18's tee box. Would not recommend this course to anybody. Heed this warning if you do not want to be harassed as you pay to play. read more

3:00 to finish 9 on a Saturday, during twilight... harassed by a marshall for using a new cart path, who instructed that due to a group behind, that I should've instead parked at the front of the green and walked 40 yards to the back of the green to hit my overshot approach, which would've added easily another 5 or 6 minutes to our play of the hole. Instead of using the cart path the course is clearly building to accommodate exactly that mistake? And where there is walking path mowed from the wrong cart path, to the wrong green? And when I'm waiting on the tee box all day, for the group ahead? It's no wonder that play is slow. I think the Marshall mantra is: play free golf, eat free food, harass paying players, and repeat! God love the entitled, retired white man, grasping at authority in his old age! However, it's a very well maintained course, with lovely views, wonderful clubhouse facilities... and reasonable fees. read more

Fox hollow currently gets 3 stars. Typically it's a 4 star course with 3 different beautiful nine hole course layout. If you play the canyon course right now the best hole, #5 is under construction and isn't usable. They aren't even giving much of a discount to play this part of the course so that sucks. It would actually make more sense to say the canyon course is closed, but that would obviously loose them a bunch of money. So if you're going to play here the links to meadows is your best option for 18 or just the links for 9. read more

Played the Meadows and Links courses. Once again, extremely slow play. At least a 5 minute wait at every tee box plus many fairway waits. If you want a reasonably fast round, DO NOT play this course. read more

Bummer- second time we've attempted a tee time shortly after 5pm. Late getting out every time to the point you can't finish 9 holes due to darkness. Asked Marshall to get us out sooner because there was an opening..NOPE- ended up cancelling our round. Would've tee'd off 16 minutes after tee time. Went home read more

They've priced themselves just too high for the avid golfer. The people that supported them from the beginning like myself just can't afford to play golf there on any sort of regular basis. I always loved that golf course but after the recent fire they remove so many trees and made changes to the signature hole it just isn't what it used to be. Over $90 to play 18 and ride in a golf cart just doesn't make sense for me. Sorry FH read more

Such an immaculate course! Service was A+ and I can't wait to play there again! Conditions were A++. Greens were fast but not too fast. Fairways and area around look like a brand new course read more

Top Notch golf course, with lots of friendly pros and staff. Best Course on West side of Denver

Staff is rude, Marshalls are insane, cart girl Junior is awful and only showed up once in 18 holes. The marshalls kept telling us we were not going fast enough but we couldn't play because we couldn't hit into the team in front of us. The cart girl showed up once, at hole 2, confiscated our cooler (a small backpack cooler with waters, juices and 3 beers) and never showed up again. The only drinks we had were the drinks we bought at the clubhouse before we started playing. Expect to be sober, thirsty, and get yelled at on this golf course. It's a pretty course but don't expect to have fun. Not to mention when we asked for our cooler back after we were done playing, they had gone through the cooler and thrown everything away. read more

This course is awful! Absolutely miss managed and under construction. Plus the old rude marshal is constantly justifying his existence telling you to play faster even though you have to wait on every hole because it is so backed up. Save your money and go somewhere else. read more

This is the most backed up, mis managed golf course on the front range. Not to mention there is a marshall on every hole yelling at you that your playing too slow even tho your waiting for the group ahead of you. Over priced under construction and RUDEST employees of all time. The last time we played here we stopped playing after hole 16 because it was taking so long, we were 6+ hrs into our round. read more

High quality public golf course. Can't speak to the restaurant because it serves its purpose: drinks and quick breakfast/lunch/dinner for golfers. Fox Hollow has long been a spot for challenging golf at a fair price. I actually wouldn't mind seeing them increase their prices to get a higher quality of patron, but they are public so understandable. Canyon to Meadows is my favorite loop with some solid variety but Links is a great 9 holes as well. read more

It started to rain so we quit playing and headed to the restaurant for lunch. First time we tried this place. Food and service was very good. read more

The BEST course in the Denver area for a Links style, 27 Holes. Great Service and the Grounds crew do Amazing work. It was in decent shape for early October. There were a number of spots where the ground is very soggy even though it hasn't rained in a month. A lot of complaints on Yelp are in regards to the rangers, but my beef was with seemed like a lead grounds crew guy. I won't go too into the details but I'll summarize by saying he was super pretentious. Was over the top upset that I drove the cart into the rough in the middle of a par 5 (normal rough, that literally everyone, on every course, drives through all the time, and no signs saying not to). Was scalded like a child to never do that again... mind you this was a grounds crew guy, rangers were perfectly okay with it. read more

Played this course twice this month and really enjoyed myself. The course is challenging and is definitely not flat. Both times I walked on as a single and was paired with a good group. The pace of play is a bit slow, though my group was not bothered by the Marshall. I had the opportunity to chat with the Marshall, John, he's 97, sharp as a tack and still out there swinging. Color me inspired! The beverage cart is intermittent, so if you see one I'd wave them down. They do have a good variety goodies and drinks to pick from. The course was in great shape considering it's November! read more

Save your money and go somewhere else. Took us almost 6 hours to play 18 on a Saturday. Marshalls were rude about pace of place but didn't do anything about it. Mismanaged to say the least read more

It saddens me to say I'll never come back to this coarse. The pro shop guys were awesome! They helped us out so much the coarse is well kept and amazing.. the only issue was the coarse marshal. Old man river trailed us the whole time telling us to hurry up. I don't wait all week to golf and pay money to get harassed. Foothills never done that to me which is why I will be going there as my home coarse. read more

I'm not sure if it was the fact I was golfing in December...in shorts that got me a little giddy, the great breakfast burrito before the round or the wonderful views lining each fairway...or all three! The course looks and plays great in the "middle of winter." Mind you though, winter rules here dictate Cart Path only, which means you'll be walking more than riding to get to your ball in the fairway. I'll be back next year to see how gorgeous the trees and shrubs look when in full bloom! read more

5 hour round and everyone except for Jim the starter was so rude and unwelcoming. Marshalls just drive around in circles and don't speed up play. FoSaul trace for 40$ more is where you want to be. read more

Hands-down one of the top public courses in the Denver area. Each 9 (there are 3) has a different feel and it's own set of challenges. My favorite combo is the Canyon / Meadow, though the links course is quite nice as well. Definitely a challenging course, but a varied and interesting layout that will keep any level golfer on their toes. Greens and fairways are kept pristine, and the staff have always been great. Its a little on the higher side for a public course (still way cheaper than Arrowhead or Fossil Trace in Peak Season), but the money you spend is well worth it. If you are a golfer living around or coming to Denver, this course is definitely in the Top 5 for the metro area. read more

I have been playing here for many many years and always say it's one of the best in town. That changed today. So sad that they have let the course basically die. The fairway were toasted beyond recognition. No water. Greens were just a bit better. Plus the canyon course is under construction so two holes have been switch to a lousy short and odd par three(was a 4) and a super short par 4 with a green(I use that term loosely) in the middle of a fairway on the par 5. Just close down the canyon course, you still have 2 other nines. Very sad. And they are still charging full price. Ridiculous. Save yourself the frustration and don't play there this year. Let them get it back in shape. read more

The security staff is rude AF. Don't spend your money here, until they learn what customer service means.

Played in July of 2013. Played the Links and Canyon nines. I found both nines to be of the links variety and challenging. Pros: Good and challenging layout. Course was in good condition and well maintained. Price was $45 (price varies based on time, walking/riding, resident or non resident) which I thought was a good deal. I walked and was non-resident. Cons: While we were able to play a much quicker back nine it was apparent this course gets some slow play. We were done in 4 hours and 20 minutes but at the pace we were on on the front nine it could have been 5 hours easy. read more

First time at this course today. Avid golfer who likes to take advantage of deals on golf now. First of all, they didn't have our reservation. Then we were scolded by the marshall for not having all tires on the cart path on a tee box. Asked the bev cart attendant for a sandwich at the start of hole 11 as a bird had eaten ours. She told us she was out and didn't come back around until hole 18. Poor service, even worse green conditions. read more

If you are interested in a 5+ hour round then this is the course for you! Geezus, it sucked. Last Friday we waited 7-8 mins per shot until we got to the green. This is despite the fact that the course rangers are as thick as Saturday morning mall walkers. Walkers seem to be exempt from the per hole time limit. Tip for the pro shop staff- on Weekend days walking should only be allowed after 3:00pm. All that being said- very nice municipal course with very courteous staff. Unfortunately, it's too slow to be enjoyable. read more

Beautiful course-very rude Marshall interaction. We aren't new to golfing and the Marshall was "hurrying" us along by telling us we should be using the golf cart more. No one was behind us and we we were actually ahead than the expected time for the course. read more

Last week I played golf at Fox Hollow. Paid about $75 each for a round of 18 with cart. We golfed during a record setting day and it was HOT and sunny with little wind. We grabbed our drinks and headed to the range around noon. Fox Hollow has a very well marked range so I really give their facility thumbs up in that area. Like all courses, the drinks are always overpriced. There are three 9-hole courses at Fox Hollow, the Canyon, Links, and Meadows. On this day we played the Canyon and Meadows courses. I found Fox Hollow to be hilly so I am not sure I would recommend walking - unless you wanted to get a lot of exercise in. There were lot of cyclists driving by us while we were sipping on Bloody Mary's that made me glad I had a cart 'cuz it looked like they were working pretty hard. Most of the holes at Fox Hollow can be seen from the tee box so you normally know what to expect. The exception is on hole 5 on the Canyon course where you need to heed the warnings about laying up and NOT hitting driver. This is a blind tee shot and there is a large Canyon that will eat your ball if you hit over 200 yards. Hole 8 is a long par 3 and is a serious bitch to par on even a good day. The Meadows course is pretty fun and relatively easy unless you hit the ball over the greens. If you do, you will not be pleased with your next 3 shots to get back onto the green. The par 5 8th is among the hardest to score on. In terms of value, I feel like Fossil Trace is a step up in terms of what you get for your money. Don't get me wrong - Fox Hollow is a great track but the people running it have a very high opinion of it read more
