Let me start off by saying that I have multiple chronic health issues that keep me from being out in the public much during this pandemic. I unfortunately recently broke a piece off of my molar and had to give in and make a dentist appointment. I have a tendency to avoid dentistry due to a dental phobia, so I went to this office in hopes of receiving sedation dentistry in a professional (and sanitary) setting. I called when I arrived (as I didn't want to take any unnecessary health risks) to ask to be alerted when my appointment began so I would not have to sit in the waiting room, and the receptionist snarkily informed me that pandemic restrictions had been eased--and that they would not come out to get me. She then tried to argue with me that cell service was spotty, so they wouldn't call me in my car either. This was despite the fact that I was on the phone with her with a GREAT signal from the actual parking lot. It was pretty empty, so I gave in and went inside a couple of minutes early. The office was filled with religious paraphernalia, which I found a little strange for a dentist office but not super unusual for the South. Then I turned the corner to see two receptionists wearing NO masks. Ironically, they took my temperature and then told me to sit in the waiting room. I mulled over the tiny list of possible scenarios where being maskless would be acceptable, and this situation qualified for none of them. I sat for a total of 3 minutes in the waiting room before deciding I wasn't going to put up with this in a medical establishment. I walked out and called to cancel. I told them why, and they had the nerve to ask if I wanted to reschedule!

So I agree to have the work completed at 180.00 out of pocket for me. After it was said and done I was leaving and at the desk where I should have paid the 180...now it was almost 500!!!! I said that is NOT WHAT THE DR TOLD ME! She said well this is what it cost to do this work. I told her what he told me and how it was explained and she said well this is the cost. I paid it without knowing what to do. Never once did she consult the Dr on his price he gave me. I called back later that day and told her to please remove me from the schedule that I was told by the Dr. one price and she charged me another price and that just was not fair or right...NO ONE ever goes in to get work done without know the price....that is just crazy! So I let it go...today I get another call for the office to informed me I owe yet another 500.......we rehashed my last visit and she said "well we gave you a service and now you have to pay for the service the Dr. did not know the prices I run the front desk" my reply was I agreed to the service based on what information my Dr. gave me....I did not think it was fair to change the price after I agreed with my Dr on a plan. I told the assistant I would rather go back. I assumed that there would be an explanation of how the procedure would be and things of that nature. They only accept two insurance carriers out of the many that are out there. However, they refuse to accept some of the biggest carriers insurance plans out there. Disappointing as we just moved to Ellijay and needed a Dental provider for the 4 of us. Between us, we have three difference carriers (Blue Cross Blue Shield, United Healthcare and Aetna) and they refused to be in network with any of those. Not exactly fly by night small carriers. I would highly encourage you to find another provider that will value your money as much as they value their own.

I got an infection in my mouth after a crown install and he refused to give me antibiotics. Without even looking at me said he was certain I did not have infection and called into the pharm some stupid shit called "magic mouthwash" and actually told me to "go get a biopsie"!! WTF!!! I was on a soft diet for a month because of pain. THEN I complained about a sore jaw another visit, I asked if xray showed anything, he said " its a bite wing, wont show that". Well dumbass, move the xray towards the area hurting and take a film, DUHHHHHHHH. that didnt happen. The office staff are great, plus my hygenist Stephanie.AWESOME!!!!! Just hope you dont have to deal with Russell himself. Also I go every 4-6 months for cleaning and he raised the price $$$$$$ saying I was now periodontal maintenance.
