Wow just wow They have some really nice wines here The Pinot noirs are very exceptional. Small tasting room located in town. Sue talked to us about the winery , she was very knowledgeable. They had just did the harvest and the smells were amazing, I found out about this place from a person in the wine business and she said if you like Pinots you need to go here and I am glad I did!

Lovely winery!

What a little piece of heaven! This adorable winery is nestled right in the heart of Booneville right along CA-128. I attended Foursight's open house during the Anderson Valley Pinot Festival weekend and had a splendid time tasting their delicious wines and scrumptious homemade goodies! First and foremost, I have to send a HUGE thank you to Jimmy, Al, and the other two men who helped get my car out of the mud! It was raining pretty hard and I ended up parking in a bad spot and got stuck in the mud. Luckily, they were there to help me get my car out of the mud. They spent almost an hour doing this! They got muddy, dirty, and even had equipment to hook up my car to pull it out! I was just so amazed. If that had happened in my area, I'd probably be stranded and would be forced to get it towed. I'm SO grateful! Thank you all so much! Phew, okay now back to the winery review! I have to say, out of all the wineries that I visited during my recent trip to AV, Foursight Wines was the most FUN! The environment is so casual and light hearted. This is a family owned and operated winery, so you'll have the pleasure of meeting the wonderful family behind the wine. Everyone... and I mean EVERYONE that I encountered was extremely friendly. I was able to meet Joe the winemaker in the tasting room, and he poured our wines while explaining tidbits about each one of them. It's so rare to be able to meet the actual winemaker, and I was so impressed with how passionate he is about his wines. And, he has every reason to be passionate about them because they were ALL incredibly delightful! Foursight Wines is a house of Pinot Noir. They produce some of the best Pinot Noir that I've ever tasted! They're wines come from a single vineyard and are never filtered or fined. You will definitely be able to taste the high quality with each and every sip. I'm a Pinot gal at heart, so I instantly fell in love with the wines here. My absolutely favorites were their 2017 Clone 05 Pinot Noir and their 2017 Paraboll. Also notable was their fresh ingredients Sauvignon Blanc and their enjoyably sweet Semillon. Their wines are truly state of the art. I can't forget to mention all of the delicious home cooked goods! Nancy did a FABULOUS job preparing all of the yummy food! There were homemade cookies, brownies, salsas, and SCRUMPTIOUS dips (loved that roasted red pepper and walnut dip!!!). The Oysters Girls Oysters Bar was fabulous as well! The oysters were fresh and tasty. If you ever have a chance to visit Foursight during one of their events, DO IT! You will be spoiled rotten, I tell you! The food was just amazing. Well gosh, if I haven't convinced you to come and visit this marvelous winery, then I don't know what else will. Just trust me on this one! You won't be disappointed.

Pinot and food pairing

Visited 6 wineries during Pinot Fest last weekend and Foursight was the favorite! Friendly, relaxed, family-run winery with great wines and the food pairing that we had with our tasting was delicious. We were able to chat with the winemaker, his wife and other family members who were helping out at the winery which really added to the experience. It was a beautiful outdoor setting, perfect place to enjoy a wine tasting flight or a glass!

If you've read my reviews then you know I am an avid fan of Anderson Valley and it's wineries. This is one of my favorites and I just recently joined the wine club. The have reds and whites and like most Anderson Valley wineries the specialize in Pinot Noir. They waive tasting fees with purchase and have participated in the AV wine events that we have attended and have offered small bites during these events. The winemaker Joe and his wife are very passionate about what they do and always make you feel like family when your visiting. The Zero Pinot Noir is my favorite. Cheers

Foursight Wines is one of my favorites in Anderson Valley. The wines are perfection to me. The tasting room is nice and welcoming, the people are all so wonderful and eager to answer any questions you have about their wines. They also put on a great event around harvest that I always come away from having learned something new. I Foursight!!

The most unpretentious winery with the friendliest and kindest service. We were riding through Boonville and saw this sign advertising 91 points Pinot Noir so we decided to make a pit stop. To our amazement the Pinots were quite spectacular with a hint of passion and lots of love. This is a small family owned vineyard and I'm grateful to be one of their new member; couldn't resist the sexy Pinots and the superb service. They even offered us some food to go with our never ending tasting. Please please if you're in the area this is a must visit vineyard you won't regret it and you will leave with a few bottles or more. If you're a Pinot love like I am this will blow your pockets away because you will not leave empty handed. Lots of different varieties of Pinots.

Pennyroyal Farm - Pinot Noir

Pennyroyal Farm

Farm-to-table magic on California's North Coast…read more One of our favorite stops and one we still daydream about was Pennyroyal Farm. The cheeses alone are worth the drive, especially their Laychee which happened to be studded with fresh blueberries when we visited. If you try only one thing, make it the seasonal Laychee. It's unforgettable. We also devoured their ultra creamy deviled eggs, sipped wine, and ordered a cheese board because, honestly, cheese was the only thing on our minds. Boonville sits about 115 miles north of San Francisco, tucked among vineyards, redwoods, and small-town farmland. This whole stretch feels like a little slice of heaven. Stepping onto the property, it reminded me of a European farmstead. What makes Pennyroyal so special is that everything you taste comes directly from this land: goats, sheep, gardens, vineyards, cheese, wine - all feeding into each other on the same 66-acre ecosystem. Nothing is outsourced. They're open daily, and you can grab a table overlooking the vineyards or wander over to meet the animals and the people behind your very happy stomach. If you're exploring California's North Coast, this place belongs on your list.

Great for kids, even the younger kids won't complain about the walk and the animals are exciting for them. Following the farm tour was the wine and cheese tasting, which was excellent of course. There are many great wineries in this area and the wine was good, but the specialty is on the cheese. The cheese was amazing! They offer a limited food menu (think heavy snacks or appetizers rather than a full meal) and the food was also excellent. Plenty of space for the kids to run around. At my next visit I'm bringing an ice cooler so that we can take cheese to-go for home enjoyment. Overall this is a delightful and kid-friendly wine and cheese tasting and I look forward to my next visit.

Most of the wines we tasted we liked some more than others. But their pinot noirs are definitely my personal favorites. This winery was recommended by someone who used to be or is in their wine club. So much so, that I actually preferred their white wine selection over their reds. Yes, indeed! Philo Ridge Vineyards is a cozy tasting room located in downtown Booneville right off of Highway 128. They offer a variety of different wines including Gewurztraminer, Pinot Gris, Viognier, Pinot Noir, Zinfandel, and so on. The tasting room itself is smaller than all of the other tasting rooms that I went to while wine tasting in Booneville. However, I could tell that this tasting room was extremely popular amongst the locals by how busy it was. Unfortunately, it can get a bit cramped and this is what happened when I arrived for my tasting. Nevertheless, the majority of the wines that I tasted were exceptional! Let me just say that Jill is an absolute Doll! Although she was basically swamped, she was able to assist us with a smile and poise. Her vivid descriptions and passion around the wines that she presented really shined through. I feel like it made me enjoy the wines even more. The cheese bread that they were serving didn't hurt either! I didn't get the name of the bread or even what cheese that it was made with, but it tasted yummy even while cold. Now to the best part... those wines! I tasted their 2014 Ferrington Vineyard Gewurztraminer, 2014 Nelson Vineyard Pinot Gris, 2014 Nelson Ranch Viognier, 2012 Marguerite Vineyard Pinot Noir, and their 2011 Anderson Valley Pinot Noir. I'm a love of Pinot Noir and although I liked the Pinots here, I wouldn't exactly call them my favorites. As I previously mentioned, the standouts here were their lovely whites! The Pinot Gris was light and fruity with the most fragrant pear aroma. I also really enjoyed the Viognier which had a very enjoyable floral taste with delicious notes of peaches and apricots. However, the torch goes to that Gewurztraminer! YEEESSS! Gimme some more of that goodness, mmm! The tropical fruits and crispness could be tasted from start to finish. If you love wines that are light, crisp, and full of floral and tropical notes, then this wine is definitely for you! It's the perfect wine to sip on a warm summer day. All in all, I wouldn't mind coming back to Philo Ridge to do another tasting. However, I would try to go during their off-peak hours to get a more intimate experience.

Maggy Hawk is located in Philo, in beautiful Anderson Valley, across the street from The Madrones (a small compound of guest rooms, a boutique, tasting rooms, and a restaurant). We had a delicious lunch at Wickson, at The Madrones, then crossed the street to meet friends at Maggy Hawk. They have bocce courts and some seating in the front, more seating and a small bar inside the cozy tasting room, and tables and a pizza oven on their back patio.
