This review is probably about 10 years overdue, but in a way I'm glad I waited, because I got to watch the whole story unfold. Long before Four Sons Brewing existed, I knew one of the actual four sons, Drew. Our parents lived on the same block in Huntington Beach, and I'd regularly see him walking home from fishing at the beach. Just a good local kid I knew from the neighborhood. Then I took off for about five years. When I came home, Huntington Beach had changed, and one of the places that immediately caught my attention was this brewery that had appeared in an industrial stretch off Gothard: Four Sons Brewing. I walked in knowing absolutely nothing about it and immediately loved the place. It had that rare daytime brewery atmosphere that you can't manufacture with an interior designer and a marketing budget. Industrial without trying too hard to look industrial, laid-back without being boring, games everywhere, locals hanging out, rotating food trucks outside, and seriously good beer. And I mean the full gamut of beer. You can drink a crisp, light lager that tastes like it was specifically invented for spending an entire Southern California summer afternoon doing absolutely nothing productive--or go completely the other direction into something dark, rich and complex enough to feel like a meal in a glass. Whatever your preference, these guys know how to make beer. Then, on one of my visits, I hear: "Hey Mike, how you doing?" I look up. It's Drew. That's when I learned that the brewery I'd stumbled into was literally Four Sons--his family. His father had started the brewery for his four boys. And suddenly the whole place made sense. I don't know Drew's brothers well enough to speak about them personally, but Drew could not be a better ambassador for what this place represents. He's talented, hardworking, funny, relentlessly likable, and one of those people who seems almost incapable of letting the people around him have a bad time. He even built and installed the games himself. Then I got to watch something pretty damn cool happen. Over the next several years, I watched Drew hustle. I saw Four Sons beer start appearing in grocery stores and liquor stores all over town. It wasn't some overnight-success fairy tale. There was actual elbow grease behind it. Drew was out there getting the product into stores, talking to people, building relationships, smiling, working, and doing it again the next day. And the product backed up the hustle. Then came more locations, including Main Street and Bella Terra, and I remember thinking that I couldn't imagine a family more deserving of the success. But here's the important part: even if I didn't know Drew, I'd still give Four Sons five stars. If Drew were some completely unlikable con artist, the beer would still be good enough to earn a permanent place in the rotation. The atmosphere would still be excellent. The food-truck lineup, games, local characters and unmistakable Huntington Beach flavor would still make the original Gothard brewery worth visiting. Knowing the people behind it just makes an already great product better. The moment that really brought the whole thing full circle happened years later when I went to Tennessee to visit my sister. I walked into a liquor store to grab some beer for my brother-in-law, looked at the shelves--and there was Four Sons beer. A little brewery I remembered appearing on Gothard in my hometown had somehow followed me halfway across the country. I genuinely couldn't have been happier if I'd found my own product sitting there. There's something very American about watching a family build something from scratch, make a genuinely good product, roll up their sleeves, work their asses off, treat people well, and then watch the world slowly start noticing. Four Sons is one of those stories. So if you like great beer, good food, games, local flavor and the kind of brewery where spending an afternoon somehow turns into spending an evening, go to Four Sons. Your hard-earned money is going to people who built something themselves, serve a quality product, make you feel welcome while you're there, and somehow deliver an experience that feels like it ought to cost more than it does. I couldn't recommend them more highly. So Drew--and the entire Four Sons family--here's a toast to you guys. Watching what you built go from a neighborhood brewery on Gothard to finding your beer sitting on a shelf thousands of miles away was pretty damn cool. Keep going. You earned it. read more

As a lover of craft beer, Four Sons Brewing was exactly what I was looking for on a Friday night. They offer a variety of craft beers ranging from light to dark, with some experimental beers on draft as well, such as the CocoNutorious (coconut red ale; highly recommend). They have a menu of bar food that was quite delicious. I enjoyed their Caesar salad, loaded tater tots, and their churro bites (all fantastic). The vibe is laid-back and casual, with a working-brewery aesthetic. And there is both indoor and outdoor seating, with plenty of TVs showing sports. And my husband and I had a great time toward the end playing pinball on two of their classic pinball machines in the front. read more

We hosted our 20-year high school reunion at four sons in the barrel room this summer. Room capacity is for 75 and we probably had 80-85 attendees. The room looked packed but luckily opens up in the back and you can go outside to the patio. Place is easy to decorate. We brought in our own flowers, light and picture strings and ordered food/catering directly through them (tacos/sliders). We were able to sync up our playlists and even put our senior dvd on the tv. We had a little photo shoot area in front of the restrooms. We paid a little extra for a bartender on our event day. Overall, this is a great, fun, casual atmosphere for an event. They were all responsive to our emails/requests and easy to work with! Everyone who attended had a great time! Please book them for your next high school reunion! read more

We recently celebrated Jeff's retirement party in the Barrel Room at Four Sons Brewery, and it exceeded every expectation! If you're looking for a private venue for a retirement party, birthday, anniversary, shower, or other special event, I can't recommend it enough. The food was outstanding. The cheese curds and cheeseburger sliders were the stars of the party--our guests couldn't stop talking about them! The wings disappeared almost immediately, the Caesar salad was fresh, and the chips and salsa tasted homemade. The drink selection was equally impressive. Whether you love blonde ales, ambers, hazy IPAs, wine, or delicious hard seltzers, there's something for everyone. They also offer one of the best non-alcoholic selections we've seen, including two NA beers, a non-alcoholic seltzer, flavored sparkling waters, and soft drinks, so every guest had plenty of choices. The Barrel Room is beautiful and has the perfect atmosphere for a private event. It looks great with minimal decorations, and the huge garage-style door opens to let in the fresh air and ocean breeze, creating a relaxed and inviting space. A special thank you to Amber, our dedicated bartender, who was friendly, attentive, and made sure everyone was taken care of. We also want to recognize Dustin, who continually checked in throughout the event to make sure everything was running smoothly. Their attention to detail and genuine hospitality made us feel like valued guests. One of the comments we heard over and over was, "How have we never been here before?" Many of our guests are locals and were amazed they hadn't discovered Four Sons sooner. We've also visited the brewery side on several occasions and highly recommend it for a casual lunch, dinner, or happy hour. The food is consistently delicious, the craft beer selection is excellent, and the atmosphere is fun and welcoming. Whether you're planning a special event in the Barrel Room or just stopping by for great food and drinks, Four Sons Brewery is a place you'll want to return to again and again. Chill brewery in HB. The staff is friendly. They have great beers and the food is excellent. Lots of TV's if you are trying to catch a game. It's not huge inside but I know they have a space you can rent out for private events as well as an outdoor area. Sometimes there is a food truck outside with great tacos. My favorite spot for a cold one I've been to a lot of breweries and this one tops the list. The atmosphere hits that perfect mix of cozy, lively and is also very welcoming. The food and beer are absolutely delicious--everything is flavorful, fresh, and perfectly crafted, making it a go-to spot for both great eats and standout brews. The staff really know their stuff -- friendly, helpful with recommendations, and clearly passionate about beer. You can tell they genuinely love being here. I recently hosted a birthday party for my brother here, and it was absolutely amazing from start to finish. The service was outstanding--everyone was so attentive, friendly, and made sure our group had everything we needed throughout the celebration. One of my favorite parts was the private room they offer for parties. It made the whole experience feel much more personal and special, allowing us to really enjoy the celebration without distractions. It created the perfect atmosphere for such an important occasion. I also have to mention how fun their seltzer fests are! They really know how to throw a great event, and it adds such a lively, exciting vibe to the brewery. All in all, this place really nails it. Great beer, great people, great vibe. I've already started bringing friends here, and it's become my go-to weekend stop. Fish tacos, great, burgers, ok, mexican food, oddly just average+ This place blew me away. I'm not a big beer man. What blew me away was the family friendliness and the FOOD quality. The food quality was out freaking standing. I love chicken picante, but chicken picante pasta? Seriously? At a beer place? My mind was blown. The pasta was so creamy, the chicken was perfectly cooked, tons of capers, tons of lemon, it was perfection. Apart from the food the restaurant is pretty nice. Been coming here for over a decade.. not sure why I have not made a review. Know the family- great spot. Family friendly, decent parking. Plenty of outdoor space.. dog friendly! This spot used to have a food truck outside but now they have a kick ass kitchen inside the brewery called alpine haus. Great food and great beer. Even better people. They have a ton of seltzers and or ciders options usually if beer isn't your thing.. even have some wine. There is parking across the street and in the back and along the side of this spot.. this is an industrial kind of business park. It's a brewery. They have booth seating and or high top bar seating. They also have a bar with bar service. You get in line, order and they will deliver the food to your table whether you are inside or outside. They have two bathrooms and a second like separate side to the brewery which you can rent out for private parties and or events. Cheers. See yall soon. read more

All of it went well. I have no idea why as a non beer drinker I wanted to go here but I had a desire for low key but mindful service and I thought this might hit the spot. And hit the spot it did. As a former service worker, I appreciate customer service that hears you and Ryan did and I appreciate it so much. Covid killed my desire to go out anymore and as a former service worker that hurts my souls but I felt the service industry lacked the part I lived for. So after Covid, it was so unfulfilling to me and I started cooking for myself. But today was an exception to my past service and restaurant experiences and I'm so grateful that Ryan heard and gave what I needed. And thats not to detract from the exceptional food from a brewery (!!!) that I just had. A pint of bacon with your beer? I think so. And it just made my heart and mouth so happy. Spicy Philly? Numnumnum. If you want to go for gold, like I did tonight, go do the basket of churros. So happy I made all the decisions I made tonight but first of all making the decision to try this place out. Watching hockey with my wife at this brewery for the first time in 4 years and thankfully the beer is just as epic as I remember! I had The Great One, an Imperial IPA that packs a 9.9 abv punch but you need to be careful with this one, it's deceptively smooth and not bitter at all, this was always my go and it did not let me down. My wife had the Campbound pale, That was a really nice one also. Great News, 4 sons has a kitchen now, this is probably not new but like I said first time back in four years! We tried the Korean barbecue wings plus they got something on the menu which really pairs well with beer...a pint glass, full of six strips of bacon, just heavenly. We tried a couple other things they were all really good, the Pickle flavored beverage we had went well with the cheese curds, but the wings were my favorite. Bartender was friendly as was the rest of the staff including the chef who talked to us about the menu and made sure we enjoyed everything. Great job 4 sons! We will be back very soon. read more

Checked out Four Sons and had a pretty good time overall. Beers were decent -- a solid lineup. Food was also decent, good enough to pair with a pint or two. Plenty of parking made it super convenient, and while the overall vibes inside were just okay, the outdoor patio really stood out -- definitely the highlight. We had a venue canceled on us a few days before the birthday surprise event but Duke, the owner, was able to accommodate us a private section of the brewery. The process was so quick and easy within a few hours of emailing back and forth. We reserved the Barrel room for around 60 people. Before the event, Duke introduced himself and gave us the room run down. We had a closed off section with two private televisions, a private speaker (bluetooth) and a private bartender. There was enough room for everyone to roam or sit. We also had access outside so the breeze kept everyone cool and a quick walk to the car. Our private bartender OH MY GOSH was amazing and super friendly. My guests were very happy with our bartender and he made sure everyone was having a good time. He was quick and swift with going around checking up on our guests. We definitely will book this spot again for mother birthday in the future!! read more

This is my walking distance watering hole so I've been coming here for 4 years. The beer is good and the grub is your classic bar food, but the service is terrible. They act as if they can't be bothered when you're just trying to order a beer. They're too busy having family meals and beers at a side table or catering to preferred guests. I'm all for the relaxed family vibe but that shouldn't come at the cost of customers being dismissed when pouring a simple beer. Not surprising the 70 year old owner drives an outrageous green Lamborghini rather than fix the many holes in their walls. read more

We showed up on Sunday about an hour and a half before closing time. It's kind of a hole in the wall as it's literally in a light industrial building. But they brew their own tasty beer and have decent food considering the location. The only downside was we felt very rushed as it was obvious that the staff was very serious about their 7 PM closing time as they started stacking tables and chairs promptly at 6 PM. This was very off-putting as we really felt rushed and there was a group of people who came in at 6 and had no where to sit and was told they could only order a single beer. Had we felt less rushed, I would have given this a higher rating. After all, it's very kid friendly and they even make their own root beer. read more

What a gem! 4 Sons Barrel Room was the perfect venue for my husband's 40th birthday. It was very easy to reserve and Duke was wonderful to work with! We had 45 people comfortably in the private room and we did the taco bar through their catering. The food was really good and we brought our own cupcakes for dessert. We had a private bartender and Tony was AMAZING. We were able to come 30-45min early to set up and decorate. I would absolutely book this venue for another event.
