I have been here a few times now and I love it! Their food is delicious, you will be safe with anything from the menu. I recommend the fish tacos! They are the perfect portion, not too big. I wouldn't say anything is shareable. Even if you are not a big beer drinker, they have such the variety of drinks to try that rotate often. They also have the Lavy Lemonade that is alcohol free and it is soooo good! They have plenty of shaded seating in the upstairs bar area. However it can get crowded. read more

I've driven by Green Cheek a few times. Since I love a local craft beer, we went in. Green Cheek is located in Sunset Beach off Highway 1 on the beach side of the highway. There's an upper level that has outside seating, and if you're lucky, you can get one of the seats with a view. Actually, many seats offer a view of the ocean. Green Cheek serves beer, hard seltzers, and food. The food is great. Smashburgers, fries, tots, salads, fish tacos, etc. are all on the menu. I visited the Green Cheek in Orange, CA and had the wings, and they were OUTSTANDING. The best part was that they served a LOT of wings, which I love. After visiting Green Cheek a few times, I got a Paloma. Their Paloma is a sweet-ish grapefruit seltzer that is not short on taste. The moment I sipped it, I knew I couldn't order anything else. We drove a case of Palomas to our daughter in Arizona because there's just nothing like it! We try to keep a few cans at home, but since they often sell out, sometimes we run out. Green Cheek is dog-friendly. Although our dogs don't yet have brewery manners needed for a lazy afternoon at a beer pub, I love seeing people enjoy the time with their doggos. read more

Cool spot with great food and an even better atmosphere. Parking can be a bit challenging, even though there's a small lot, it fills up quickly. The upstairs patio is definitely the highlight: yellow umbrellas, a relaxed vibe, and views over the residential side, with little glimpses of the ocean between the houses. It's a unique setup, especially considering one side of the restaurant faces a busy street while the patio feels calm and tucked away. The menu is small and well curated, which makes ordering easy. Met up with a good friend of mine, who recommend Green Cheek in Sunset Beach. It's rare to see their beers on tap in NoCal, so I was excited to partake while visiting SoCal. I arrived earlier than expected and parking was a nightmare. Always is in the beach communities, but parked about 4 blocks away with an easy walk to the establishment. There was no parking available in their small lot but the drive through window to pick up beer was a neat idea. I was fortunate to find a table downstairs at the back the tap room near the stairs and decided to start with Flying South, a 5% Mexican-Style lager. Really enjoyable, simple on the nose and palate. Followed this up with Good For Morale, which was my favorite beer of the day. Still on a Czech Pils kick after returning from Prague and this offering quite rich and full with a mild sweetness. I finished the day with an order with Lots of Fries and a Classic Double Smashburger and 8 year Vol. 1, a Wesdt Coast Pils. Layered with a plethora of hops, this was a very fruity pils with very good aromatics. All in all this was a great family friend establishment to visit. It was crowded on the Sunday we were there, but there was always a place to sit, either downstairs inside, or upstairs, outside. The staff was friendly and helping and the taproom very inviting. The porter that was recommended to me was the best glass of beer that I have ever had. I wish I knew the name. The vibe was festive and relaxing, and there were plenty of laid-back dogs lounging next to their buzzed humans. I had higher hopes for their food, after reading the hyped reviews of many fellow yelpers. But when I tried my smash burger, I was overwhelmed. The bun was relatively small, and there was just two patties and American cheese in the sandwich. I thought lettuce and tomato ought to be the standard ingredients for a $15 burger, but it was not to be. My wife enjoyed her chicken sandwich and salad, and we both feasted on their tater tots. I've been here twice now, and I have to say, Green Cheek Beer Co. is quickly becoming one of my favorite spots! The first time I came, a friend introduced me to their Lavender Lemonade Hard Seltzer, and I've been craving it ever since. It's the perfect balance of refreshing and subtly sweet - just an absolute delight. On my second visit, I was so excited to grab my Lavender Lemonade seltzer again, but the cashier also recommended I try the Pierre's Palmona Hard Seltzer. He gave me a sample, and wow! It was just as delicious! I'm definitely coming back for more of that one too! I love that they offer their seltzers and beers in 4-packs, so you can take your favorites home with you. And the food--let me just say, my friend ordered the lemon pepper wings, and he couldn't stop raving about them. They were crispy, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned. Definitely worth trying! The location is amazing too - right between the harbour and the beach, so it's the perfect spot to enjoy a drink after a day by the water. If you're in the area, this place is an absolute must-visit. A neighbor of mine told me about this place and the good food that comes out of their kitchen. They dont have a big parking lot, so sometimes you have to park out on PCH. They do have a decent patio on the second floor, and either inside or outside, its very dog friendly. The burger was awesome and the fries were good too. My girlfriend had the chicken sandwich and told me it was bomb. The beer choices are great and the pilsner i had was smooth and crisp. I told a friend of mine that they had a Tetris arcade there and hes excited to come put his name all over it. They have a drive thru for food and beer so i found that to be a cool feature if you live in surfside or close to it. read more

This place was perfect after kayaking. The view from their second floor roof top seating was so perfect. We were abe to get seating quickly, and enjoyed our beer with the view of the ocean. Visited this location, as it was recommended by a friend as being known for a great burger. The location was dirty. Bugs, dirt throughout the seating area. They don't sell water. They have a water tank that can be touched by anyone, with glasses sitting next to it. Sorry, not my vibe. Burgers. What a disappointment. A chewy, greasy mess with no flavor. I suspect freezer burn? Old meat? Something was off. Both my daughter and I took one bite and stopped. Threw it all away. Seems like a great place to grab a beer, but I would not recommend the food. read more

Was looking for a nice lunch place after SUP nearby and decided here due to their patio seating for the beach views. It's two stories with plenty of seating both indoors and outdoors. We sat upstairs and music was not too loud. Excellent service: when (didn't get a chance to get her name, but she has black wavy hair and super nice) overheard it was my husband's birthday, they gave him a beer on the house- we were so touched by that gesture, you rock! I didn't know that Green Cheek was in reference to a type of parrot, Green Cheek Conure, so I immediately loved this place for it and had to buy their merchandise: variety of Tshirts with their logo and stickers. Tshirts are $20 and good quality/soft to the touch. They also had chew toys, frisbees and beer too! Don't forget to take a photo op outside their building! I love the smash burgers which really help soak up the suds. The vibe here is unbeatable. It's got a beachy casual nothing-can-bother-me vibe, especially when you're sitting on that rooftop. A must-try smash burger spot. My boyfriend and I ordered two smash burgers - one with fries and the other with a salad, and both were absolutely delicious. The burger comes with two patties, which I found a bit too much for myself, but my boyfriend loved it. Surprisingly, it didn't feel too heavy after we finished eating. The burger really impressed me, especially since I'm not usually a huge burger fanatic. The fries were perfect - crispy and a great complement to the meal. The salad was also fantastic - a Mediterranean salad that paired much better with the burger than a classic Caesar would have. The only downside is that parking can be limited and hard to find, and the wait time can be long due to the line.
