They pointed out several areas where water had been ponding for years, old patchwork repairs from previous contractors, and flashing details that were beginning to separate from the parapet walls. What made sense to me was that they weren't focused on one leak location. They were looking at the entire roofing system and explaining how all the pieces worked together. Once the project started, the old roof was removed down to the deck. A few sections of plywood around one of the drains had deteriorated more than expected and needed replacement before the new system could be installed.
