View from our room looking out over the river as the first snow (flurries) of the season fell.

We've stayed here twice and both times have had a good experience. The check in process is quick and easy, they have a parking garage on-site, extremely clean rooms, friendly staff, a nice bar, room service, and walking distance to everything downtown. The restaurant/bar that's located on the street level (Recovery) has great food and a fun atmosphere so that just adds to this hotel. This will always be our go to hotel in downtown Charleston.

Hey yall! Now this isn't my first nor second time overnight here! Here lately I've been getting this overnight! Now let me just say I overall usually have a good visit! When i come it always seems like the bar/restaurant is never open! Usually the rooms are clean but every stay it's always the heat! Last time i was here i turned up that mug to the max and it was still blowing out cold airs and now it's the SAME THING! Not sure what's going on! But i will say the staff is always so friendly here! Thank you guys!

let me start off by saying there are 1000% better hotels to go to. but this isn't a terrible budget-ish option. we had a one night stay at this hotel, it was just a pit stop kind of thing. we enjoyed our stay. but they didn't have key cards because the technology was down and the area is a little.... sketchy. just be careful. and for me and my son and his friend and his dad, the beds were small. it's a ok hotel, i've been to better though.

Good stay. Great location. Hotel is a bit on the older side, and needed of a renovation. Yet to stay at a Four Points that can feel like part of the Marriott family. Bed was comfortable. Room was spacious and clean. Staff was beyond helpful. Close to lots of Charleston local attractions.

Beautiful view!

Dirty bedskirt.

Great location along the river and walking distance to a lot of nice restaurants. The hotel feels newer, is clean and the staff is friendly. I wish there was a communal microwave to use at your leisure so you don't have to ask the bartender to go back to the kitchen to warm you food/make popcorn. For the hotel being so clean and new, I don't understand why the bed skirt was so dirty. It was really gross and made me question cleanliness.

Thought this was neat

One of the nicer hotels in Charleston, great location with views of the river. Walking distance to restaurants and bars. Clean, newly renovated lobby w/ bar. Restaurant is also located off the lobby and the hotel is connected to a sports bar (Recovery). The staff was friendly and welcoming. The gym and pool area are clean and the pool had plenty of towels. Overall a nice spot to stay if you're in the area. We are Marriott rewards members so the nightly rate was unbeatable and it included breakfast for me and my wife. Kids breakfast was perfect and was $3 for my daughter and $4 for my son.

STAY AWAY!!!! My husband and i were in town(April 23-April 24) for our daughter's graduation from college. We had been wanting to try this hotel out for the six years we had been coming up. So with this being our last time in Charleston. We thought we would try it out. BIG MISTAKE! First off, check in was confusing. No signs to direst you on how to check in. We stood in "line" for ten minutes until we realize it was not the line. It was guest waiting on people. We got checked in and went up to our room(827). I had to go to the bathroom. While I was in the bathroom. I noticed several black hairs. They looked liked beard hair. But I let that slide. As my husband and daughter was looking out the windows in the living room area. They discovered small ants crawling on and around the heating and air unit. They killed them. But in the process we discovered all the dust and dirt that had built up on the vents and on top of the unit. We left to go eat and came back later on. When we got back we just went on to bed. We had an early morning the next day. This is when things go from bad to worse. Around 2:30am, my husband and I were woken up by getting bitten by ants. They were in our bed. So there went our comfort stay. We were up the rest of the night. So we decided to go ahead get our showers taken, get ready and get the heck out of this room. Thank God we had to be at graduation before 8am. My husband was the first to get in the shower. The shower was NASTY.. Dirt and Soap Scum build up on the shower wall. Those same black hairs that was on the bathroom floor was all over the shower walls. The shower spout was crooked. Water came out towards the back wall. The shower curtain was a joke. It was a solid material. But material with small holes throughout. The bathroom floor was flooded by the time my husband finished. We were only given two towels and two wash clothes. Thank goodness I had brought some beach towels(just in case we went swimming). So to say, I didn't get to get a shower. By this time we were ready to LEAVE.. Before we left, my husband went through and checked under everything to make sure we didn't leave anything. He found all kinds of stuff under the bed and couch. When I checked out, I did inform the lady about our stay. She apologized and gave me a $20 credit(still have not recieved that $20 credit back on my card). Sorry, that doesnt come close to the hell we went through.

Good: The room itself was fine. Plenty of space and clean. People were friendly. Free breakfast…read morewith omelet bar. Bad: Lighting in bathroom was fit for a romantic evening not for knowing if your hands are clean or your makeup looks good. Any hotel room with two beds and a sofa bed - so can sleep 6 - should have two sinks! Only one here. The main problem is the elevator situation. This is an 8-floor hotel with approx 250 rooms and there are 3 elevators. And one wasn't working. So even with all three working properly, this is a huge pain. This isn't new. I was in the same hotel 6 years ago. Same elevator situation. I waited for 12 minutes to get on an elevator today and as we descended we stopped at every single floor - they were all waiting too - and of course no one from floor 3 to floor 6 could get in as it was already full from all the people on floors 7 and 8. Absolutely ridiculous to have such a situation. Should have been addressed years ago. Yes, there are steps. But not w luggage and kids.

This was by far the dirtiest hotel we stayed at during our 2-week cross-country road trip…read more The first room we were given had hair on the toilet seat, and the inside of the toilet bowl looked like it had not been cleaned at all after the previous guest. When I called the front desk, I was told there was nobody available to re-clean the room, so they moved us to another suite. The second room had a clean toilet, but there was a paper-thin connecting door to the neighborings suite and we could hear absolutely everything the neighbors were saying. It felt like they were in the same room with us. The carpet looked like it had never been properly cleaned -- it was sticky and visibly dirty, with candy wrappers, hair, food debris, stains, and even what looked like someone's cut toenails on the floor. The doors and surfaces were sticky and oily with visible fingerprints and grime everywhere. The bathroom mirror clearly had not been cleaned either, with visible toothpaste splatter and stains from previous guests. The only thing that appeared reasonably clean was the bedding, but even the bed frame/base had multiple stains, and the chair in the room was so heavily stained it looked disgusting. To make things worse, at 5 AM the upstairs neighbor turned on their bathtub, and the plumbing noise sounded like it was happening directly inside our bedroom. Very disappointing experience, especially for an Embassy Suites.

Wanderlust Creativefoods was spectacular and within walking distance of the Morris Harvey House. The room was spectacular. I stayed in the Loft and had a great time. It was eclectic, quirky, and classy at the same time. The bed was super comfy. The town was awesome and Morris Harvey House was within walking distance of almost everything. I was very impressed by Fayetteville, WV. I highly recommend this place. It was the perfect stay after a full day in New River Gorge National Park. It is very close to the Canyon Rim Visitor Center. I woke up early and drove along the Fayette Station Road to see the sun setting over the bridge. Then went back to Morris Harvey House for an amazing home-cooked breakfast. The breakfast was amazing. Fresh coffee and orange juice with bacon and a pistachio waffle. Yum!! I had a great experience and will definitely be returning.

Breakfast was perfectly light and tasty, staving off our appetites for a few hours while we went about our adventures! Its husband and wife owned and operated. If we pass through there again we would totally stay here again. Oh, and it's worth mentioning that their shower pressure will clean rust off of an old Harley! It was amazing and one of the highlights.
