We all hear horror stories about shifty mechanics and their dirty business practices, and I feel like I can't over value the guys at Ray's for their honest work. My whole family has been taking our vehicles to Ray's for about 15 years, and we've had nothing but positive experiences. When they haven't been able to help us, they have referred us to other shops that they trust and I would never hesitate to trust their recommendations.

The trucks tore up the yard with 8" ruts because of course, they just drive where-ever to get close to the house, Jim again saying he'd be back to repair but NOPE! This was the most regrettable choice I've made and i hope that this may save you some remorse. And he uses the cheapest materials available, cutting all corners and complained bitterly anytime I challenged him. Ultimately, you have choices - and you have every reason to expect to get what you've paid for. This ISN'T that. If this is your only option, modify the contract to partial payment and total upon SATISFACTORY COMPLETION. Otherwise Jim Muir will leave the promises in the past and you won't see him again... I had to hire another outfit to get the place presentable; Jim couldn't have cared less... Now read my first line again and consider how much extra you want to pay for the GIMIC of a one-day roof.​​​

I had issues with my insurance com- USAA- stating I only needed partial repairs, etc- not a whole roof replacement. Jim and another roofing con tractor both said I needed a new roof. Jim agreed to talk with USAA with me as USAA informed me the homeowner has to be involved in the call. , said he would have the roofer take pictures. When it came time ( after the new roof, soffets , etc were installed) to call USAA- Jim did not answer my texts, phone calls. He finally sent a text stating he tried to call the insurance company, and I have a substandard policy. That was the end of it. I had a male friend go up and look at my roof- "not the best roof job I've seen"..

They took some numbers from my fireplace and the remote system so they could order new parts. I never heard back from them. I finally called in March and they said they had all the parts and set up a time to service. I waited 2 hours that day because they forgot to come. They finally came after I called and got numbers again from my fireplace but didn't bring any parts to repair. Never heard from them for over 3 weeks so I called again. They said they now couldn't repair my fireplace. I was so fed up I asked them just to return the remote system they removed so I could have someone else come over to service it. It has been a month and I have called six times and they still have yet to return what they took. It is now almost May! They are the worst company I have ever dealt with and have no customer service!

Was sold special-order storm doors without my knowledge, so I couldn't get a refund! Months after final payment I discovered outlets wired to the wrong circuit breaker box and had to call them back for re-work. On the good side, they rightly stood up to building inspector to widen doorway. Overall, most work was well done, even if it was deeply frustrating with little accounting given for expenses. FYI: Don't let them talk their way out of providing references of work on comparable properties first..

Karl was very quick to respond to our concerns and made sure the project stayed on track and the work was completed to our standards. He took the time to recommend places to visit to help us pick out the finishes (flooring, tile, etc.) and worked with us to get exactly what we wanted. He was also able to fix a closet door, a sliding pocket-door and install some cabinets in the laundry that we had purchased (in addition to the bathroom project). Highly recommend Beckman Builders!
