The spa day was very relaxing. We enjoyed yoga, sound bath, mineral pool, and couples massage. January - We did the chef's tasting menu. The dishes were unique, and included a few ingredients I had not had previously. It was good, but not as good as other Nashville Michelin star restaurants we've tried. The service was slow for our preference. The server was not as attentive as we'd like, and we would have enjoyed learning about the food and the seed to table preparation. Also, most nice restaurants do something special for an anniversary, like give you a special menu or take your photo for you. They just said "Happy Anniversary" when we sat down. It was a little off putting to hear a chef yell "VIP" for someone's order as well. The meal took over 2 hours. For the price, I don't think we'll eat there again. In Room Snacks & Drinks - The dip with pita and veggies and afternoon drinks were great. Pricey but worth it for a special occasion. Joyburger - The food truck had a simple menu. We tried it all, and it was delicious! Breakfast in Bed - The breakfast food is overpriced for what you get. It tasted fine. Sojourner - Really nice dinner. Well prepared, good service, high quality food. Appropriately priced. The Inn gave us a nice note and treats for our Anniversary. The spa also gave us a gift bag for our Anniversary. All the staff was professional and attentive. They were able to accommodate early check in and late check out so we could enjoy two full days on property. Highly recommend the spa experience. We'll likely return.

Beautiful architecture, thoughtful landscaping, and premium amenities may attract people initially, but they aren't what create lasting loyalty. Modern luxury is about how a place makes you feel through thoughtful hospitality, meaningful experiences, and the sense that what you just experienced couldn't have been replicated elsewhere. That was the disconnect I felt. I booked a private sound bath for a group because Southall seemed like the perfect setting for my birthday. Visually, the property exceeds expectations. Every building, pathway, and landscape feels intentional, and it's clear an incredible amount of care and investment went into creating such a beautiful environment. Many members of the team reflected a high level of hospitality. The valet staff and front desk team were consistently warm and professional, and the gentleman overseeing the mineral pool left a lasting impression simply by remembering my name after a brief interaction. Those moments felt personal and thoughtful, and they are exactly what luxury hospitality should feel like. The setting itself is also undeniably exceptional. Southall has created an environment that feels immersive, intentional, and visually refined at every turn. Unfortunately, the central experience we came for did not reflect the same standard. Before the session even began, a staff member assumed I was pregnant and told me I couldn't use the sauna or steam room. While I'm sure no harm was intended, comments like that can be deeply personal, and luxury hospitality should never make assumptions about a guest's body or medical history. The sound bath itself also fell short of expectations. The soundbath practitioner was warm and welcoming, and I genuinely enjoyed the portion she led. My concern wasn't with her, but with how the experience was structured. A significant portion of our scheduled hour was reserved for tea and group reflection rather than the sound bath itself. The environment also worked against the experience. Conversations from the hallway were frequently audible throughout the session, making it difficult to stay fully immersed in what should have been one of the most restorative parts of the day. Even smaller operational details reflected a lack of polish. At the bar, our group ordered several cocktails together under one ticket. By the time the last drinks were served, the ice in the first cocktails had already melted noticeably. In a truly luxury environment, there is an expectation of pride in craft at every level, often including remaking a drink rather than allowing it to degrade before it reaches the guest. It's a small detail, but luxury hospitality is built on getting the small things right. What disappointed me most is that I left feeling I could have booked a sound bath with a local wellness studio, had a deeper and more meaningful experience, and spent a fraction of the cost. Southall offered the more beautiful setting, but not the more memorable experience. I share this because I genuinely believe Southall has the foundation to become exceptional. The property is extraordinary, and many members of the team clearly care deeply about their guests. My hope is that the same level of intention evident in the architecture and landscape will eventually extend into every layer of the guest experience. When that alignment happens, Southall will be a destination.

Rooms are right up next to the pool with no protection AT ALL. On one side, you have regular oldies playing, on the other side you have the DJ playing, resulting in total cacophony. But I can't tell you if that makes staying there worth it or not. I stopped by to see the infamous pool area. It's pretty cool, but fairly underwhelming. Just a small-ish pool, though surprisingly not overcrowded on a Saturday August afternoon. The area was pretty clean and uncluttered. The bar area was dimly lit, retro, and pretty empty. Very few things to choose from. Mostly well drinks/cocktails and frozen margaritas. Laid back, unproblematic service. I spent some time sitting outside, just admiring the aesthetic and taking some photos. There is a Photo Booth outside. A food truck selling tacos and hot dogs. A 38 plus dollar day pass for the pool seems expensive for what you're getting. Guests get a couple hours in the morning before the public is allowed in. For a certain demographic, young and bored, this spot would probably be fine. But I wouldn't pay another 38 bucks to visit.

Upon arriving, the room we reserved wasn't available but they accommodated us and offered us two separate rooms instead for the price of the original reservation. It turned out even better which I appreciated. The retro decor in each room varied but we were able to get two rooms next to each other facing the pool. While they were under a bit of construction, I didn't seem to mind much because the place was so cool. I originally saw them featured on an article highlighting the countries best divey hotels and I'm glad I booked it because the disco theme was a perfect way to bring in my birthday night. The bar was open reasonably late offering an option to pregame before dinner. The plumbing is sensitive here as when I showered the water didn't drain well but that's probably related to the upgrades they were making at the time so I allowed it. It's certainly a groovy spot and the rooms are not anything like your average motel. Parking is on site and it's pet friendly. Plus, tbere are ashtrays outside on each table for the smokers.

Not a lot of traffic in and out which is nice but can hear highway noise and there is a large church right beside the park that allows eighteen wheelers to park there for an extended amount of time and sometimes you can hear them pull in and out which can be annoying at the early hours of the morning. The staff can be friendly at times but other times seems as if they could care less what your concerns are. When it was in the below freezing temps like it has been for the past two weeks the water pipe that supplies water to our trailer froze and we were without water for a whole 24 hours. We had to use the bath house at the park which was clean and well kept. I probably watch to many crime shows so I was afraid someone was gonna come in and murder me; but that is on me not the park. Just an overall quiet park since I have been here and the cheapest we found to stay at.

OMG! The Cedar Grove Inn is the BEST place to stay…read more Let's just put it out there, most places that are available to rent for either the night or a week are either really seedy or are expensive cookie cutter rooms. At Cedar Grove Inn, not only are the rooms large and clean but at the Inn the love that goes into each room can be seen as you walk in. Every guest room has a large basket of snacks...cookies, chips, granola bars, etc. I stayed downstairs and I had a very spacious, comfortable room. The adjoining bathroom has a walk in shower and a huge claw foot soaking tub. Bath bombs are supplied if you want to take a long soak. There is also a mini fridge in the bath so that you can put drinks (supplied) or left overs in it. The breakfast is delicious. The food in the fridge is available at any time. If you are staying any length of time Kim or Rich will do their best to get it. Kim and Rich also supply beer and wine in the main kitchen so you can enjoy a happy hour before going out to explore Nashville for the evening. The couple are delightful to visit with. Don't be surprised if you see family stop by. Everyone is fun. I stayed a couple of weeks and received invitations to their open house at Thanksgiving and Christmas. I had fun! They raise chickens on the grounds and are certified to to sell both eggs and chickens. The chickens are delightful to watch for a city girl. They are released from their coop late morning and are allowed to free range until dark. I don't usually post reviews of places that I have stayed to but go see Kim and Rich at Cedar Grove Inn. It is an exceptional place to stay.

The breakfast was so good, bacon, eggs, toast, fresh fruit...coffee! The house is beautiful and I hope to return, having a little more time to enjoy the grounds.
