I went in as a new patient because I have had many issues with my previous gynecologist. The last doctor didn't not listen to my concerns or respect my wishes in regards to my care. I had the opposite experience with my nurse practitioner Lauren. She was amazing and so helpful answering all of my questions honestly and accurately. This is the worst place iv been to for pregnancy. The staff is rude and when scheduling appointments they forgot to enter they are abrasive and laugh and try to make it seem like it was your fault. They forget appointments and rush through ultrasounds. I have not been happy with any of my sonography appointments. Had a supposed specialist travel to give an ultrasound and surprise she didn't perform the ultrasound but instead popped in for 1 minute to tell me everything looks good. So we will get a specialist bill for nothing. The bedside manners are not there. The front desk not good at scheduling appointments and taking down insurance. Literally had to remind and explain to them that the provider number on the insurance card is there for them to call if they need assistance. Definitely don't feel like I'm getting proper care for this pregnancy and I'm already half way done. Will be changing providers as soon as possible. I do not recommend. read more

Four Corners OBGYN is amazing. They have been my gyno since 2010 when I became pregnant with my first daugter. You do have rotating docs during your prenatal appts, because the doc who is on call is who delivers you, but they were all wonderful. Dr. Priebe delivered both my daughters, and I could not have asked for a better doc. My delivery was not quick and she stayed in there and cheered me on the entire time. I still go to her 13 years later and she has been SO HELPFUL as I enter to super "fun" world of earl menopause...ugh. I HIGHLY recommend this office!! read more

WARNING GRAPHIC It's so grotesque I don't want to even post about it. I will share my story for the sake of others not to go thru the same. One day I come in find out I'm pregnant with twins, possibly. We don't know yet because it's so early. Then we find out it's vanishing twin syndrome w/a hematoma. Go in again couple times everything's to be progressing weekly And by week seven my subchorionic hematoma was allegedly gone according to their equipment that they have in the office. For those of you who don't know what a subchorionic hematoma is, it's when you have basically a blood blister underneath where the babies growing: so; Sex, working out and lifting too much too much activity causes bleeding. I had blood heavily twice before the seventh week. (Right after sex) On the first of the 10th week we finally had sex again, I was very afraid to touch him because I didn't want to lose the child. Even though nurse practitioner, she told me having sex isn't gonna cause a miscarriage even with an sch. Although, allegedly, it had subsided? Right np Aimee? The very next day (after sex) I start to spot then the day after that spotting goes to bleeding. I called the office to get in they get me in immediately for an ultrasound. they say that there is so much liquid in my uterus that they can't really see anything all they can see is that the gestational sack, didn't look like it was attached anymore and they could not see the yolk sac anymore and could no longer hear a heartbeat . I have a tilted uterus (which can make it hard to see baby) But if the hcg resolved itself how much there was how come there was so much liquid? They assumed miscarriage. They basically tell me my baby is dead and it must've died Weeks ago looking like around week seven or six. Fast forward this depressing appointment and them to telling me the fetus is dead they prescribe me these pills that will basically make the miscarriage happen faster. I asked her a lot of questions I asked her when we could start trying again (2 months) I asked her when she thought that the baby passed she said around six weeks. I asked her if I was going to see (a baby or not she said all I would see is tissue clots nothing out of the norm or if everything was going to be OK if I took the pills.) She said everything would be fine. Just like a period. Now here's where we get to the worst part, I had a bad feeling about taking those pills. It just didn't feel right. Me and my s/o we're fighting I was emotional about everything that I just found out and I just said, "f it" And took the pills. And let me tell you they did not warn me the pain I was going to be in. I had to have my bf call for me because I was in extreme pain to call something in. (Which to my understanding after talking to other doctors this should be something they send out as well any way.) Besides the point. THE WORST PART, the worst part of the whole thing????!!!!!! How was I supposed to know I was just about to pee and right after catch in the toilet/ birth a dead baby all safe in its little gestational sac. So here's the interesting part and I have attached pictures and also a warning label as those who cannot take anything like this. The baby came out hole the size of a ten week fetus And I will never forgive myself for listening to another doctor. Because if there was even the slightest chance that the baby could've had a chance I'd re do it. *It was the gestational sac the size of the palm of my hand. And you're going to think it's gross you're gonna think it's sick but I cut that thing open and I saw the baby inside I saw it's little arms, it's face and it's size. My baby didn't die the date she told me it did. So if she was wrong about that How much more was she wrong about? I spoke Durango news and several news companies about the story added pictures and everything , details. But I decided not to go through with it... If I did, it would be hindering my pain and my growth. If they're going to do malpractice or make mistakes like everyone in the medical field does because they're literally practicing medicine, they can go for it I just don't wanna be a part of it and I hope you don't risk it either. And for anyone looking for a gyno in the area THIS IS THE ONLY ONE. apparently there is only one Midwife. Or you can get a referral to the perinatal doctors office OB/GYN in Farmington who are pretty good. We buried our baby, cried our tears and are finally moving on. I'd add the other picture of the baby- but it's pretty traumatic. I think I got my point across. read more

I am really impressed with the care I have received from this office. After reading some of the reviews from 2015, 2018, etc., I wonder if they are still valid. I have always felt cared for, and attended to. Dr. Palister and Dr. Christian Garcia (gynecologic surgeon) have both given me as much time as I needed or wanted. I am especially impressed with Dr. Garcia. I am at the other end of OBGYN care...no pregnancies or births. Instead I am a post cancer patient. Dr. Garcia is extremely patient, kind, empathetic, and asks me multiple times if I have any more questions. He, not his nurses or assistant, call me with lab or surgery results. He answers his phone if I need to call him; if he is unavailabe, he calls me back. I never wait very long in the waiting room before I see a doctor. I highly recommend both of these doctors and this practice. read more

I have used 4 Corners OBGYN for the past 5+ years. They have guided me through the birth of my son and a miscarriage loss. I have had appointments with every single provider and while they each have their own style, all of the providers have been professional and kind. This is a great group of women who truly care about their patients. I would recommend this practice 100%. read more

The gynecologists at Four Corners lack compassion and concern for their patients. I have visited with multiple gynecologists only to have my painful medical problems dismissed or invalidated. Very little to no monitoring, rushed visits, egotism, and arrogance. They don't listen, and they don't care. They've made rude assumptions before a single word even came out of my mouth. It's as if they wrote "lost cause" in my medical chart. If you have complex gynecological issues, I would recommend seeking treatment elsewhere. read more

So, if you live in Durango, and you are stuck with crappy Obamacare insurance, like Medicaid, just know that Four Corners OBGYN is the only OBGYN in the area that will see you. And they know it. Staff does the bare minimum, and is unprofessional. Worst of all, they form opinions based on no actual data or facts. There are several doctors here, and they rotate. So you see a different doctor each time you visit. Or, at least, you are supposed to. This has pros and cons to it. As a newly pregnant lady, I didn't know anything about pregnancy, OBGYN procedures, or anything - really. So I have been reading a lot. Four Corners does nothing that books and magazines say OBGYNs are supposed to do. I was surprised. When you ask them about it, they say "don't worry, you're healthy". I was frustrated with them from the onset because they will not see you to confirm your pregnancy until you are 10 weeks pregnant. I offered to pay them cash, and they still told me no. Next, they wanted to do a glucose test right away, even though I have zero family history of diabetes, same as my husband. This is unusual. This test is normally preformed at 28 weeks. After flunking the test, I had to do a 3 hour test at the hospital lab. I passed that one with flying colors. I had to re-do the test at 28 weeks at Four Corners, and I failed that one too. I heard the nurse and the doctor talking about my results outside the door, and it was pretty unprofessional. By the way, these tests suck. Numerous members of staff at Four Corners told me that diet has nothing to do with the test results, that results were all based off the placenta. So when the doctors told me I need to "stop eating junk food", I was shocked. I also don't understand why I failed this test at Four Corners - twice, but passed at the the hospital lab - twice. I felt like Four Corners was trying to give me diabetes. Every time I have questions, doctors brush them aside, and assure me that I am "healthy". They don't give you numbers or facts. When I try to discuss labor drugs and C-Sections, I was told "don't worry, we don't do a C-Section on you." But I actually kinda want one, and wanted to discuss that as an option. They don't listen. It's like a cattle call for pregnant women. They also bad mouth other OBGYNs in the area, which is so unprofessional. I am at the point where my skin crawls at every appointment, and I cry after each one. I am at a total loss of what to do, since no one else takes Medicaid in this town. My husband and I are considering driving to Denver or another city a few weeks before the due date and staying there until our girl is born just so we don't have to have someone from Four Corners deliver the baby. I don't trust them. Especially if things start to go bad. read more

I don't even know where to begin when discussing the dissatisfaction I have for this office... Firstly, the way this office works is that you see a different doctor each visit. The theory being that when you deliver your baby you will have at least met the delivery doctor at least once. I have read that at each OBGYN visit, a urine test is performed. Four Corners does not do this. When I enquired as to why, they said they don't do a urine test unless they are looking for something specific. 36 hours after my last appointment, I had to go to the emergency room because I thought I was in labor. Turns out it was a UTI. This would have been caught had a urine test been performed at that last doctor visit. Needless to say I was not happy about that. They also forced a gestational diabetes test on me early on (before the mandatory one at week 25). I asked why, and they said because of my family history of diabetes. I told them I didn't have any family members with diabetes, and made the doctor read my history. She read it and said, "Oh", and proceeded to give me the test. I asked several members of staff why this was being done, and no one had an answer for me. This test is not easy, and can't be healthy for an unborn baby. I was not happy. I tried to switch to different OBGYN, and even had a nurse from Four Corners write a rec for another office, but when that office called Four Corners to confirm, Four Corners told them they would not refer me. On my next visit to Four Corners, the doctor spent the entire visit bad-mouthing the OBGYN I attempted to move to. Every time I tried to change the subject back to my baby's care, she went back to slamming the other office. She said things like how their care was sub-par, they were a rip-off, and that they weren't as good as her office. I was very uncomfortable. I felt like they didn't really have time for me at Four Corners. All of my questions and concerns were brushed off with "you're healthy". I kept bringing up a serious past medical condition, that my old doctor told me to monitor in the event that I did become pregnant. Everyone at Four Corners dismissed it. After my child's birth, five minutes before I was supposed to check out, the doctors tried to set me up with a take home series of medication that has to be injected - by me. I know for a fact there is oral medication for this malady, as I had it previously, but they refused to give me anything other than a box of needles. I used to have needle-phobia, and while I can handle shots and having blood drawn now, I can't do self-injection. I asked for the oral medication by name, and they still wouldn't offer me an alternative to needles. Despite that my condition could be life-threatening, I left the hospital in fear that this old condition could resurface and kill me in front of my newborn. I was beyond furious at this point, and I feel like this was extremely poor doctoring. The doctors also refused to give me pain medication while in the hospital. I was given Tylenol and Ibuprofen after my child's birth. I have no history of drug abuse, but the nurse told me they couldn't give me anything because they didn't want me to become addicted. I was furious. I was in so much pain I couldn't sleep. Finally at 4am, a nurse gave me one pill. One. That is all I got after an hour of pushing and stitches. This was absolutely barbaric. I was in pain for the four days I was hospitalized, and the doctors couldn't have cared less. I can't go into much more of my issues with this office, as I'm not comfortable discussing my medical history and experience on the web. When I first got pregnant (and being new to the area), I asked every mother I knew, where they delivered and how their experience was. Every single person said I should go to Four Corners in Durango. I went online to look up the address and came across these negative reviews and although a bit apprehensive, went in for my first appointment. I am now due in two days and just want to say that I've had the best experience at this office! I love all the doctors and the girls at the front desk are so sweet! Unlike my first pregnancy (in San Francisco), none of the doctors have pressured me to take any tests that aren't necessary. I don't usually write reviews on Yelp, but want other mothers to know my experience has been nothing like the other reviews. read more

I was always extemely happy with the prenatal and delivery care I received, however, this office continues to PUSH Essure coil implants on their patients. They've been doing it for many years and continue to do so, even with FDA ongoing investigations and thousands of serious adverse events reported. Essure is not safe. The side effects, health risks and high possibility of pregnancy (even years after implant) are great and not worth risking your life for, or that of an unborn child. Don't let any doctor force, pressure or coerce you into getting Essure. Do your own research and find a healthier birth control solution. If Essure is the only permanent birth control your doctor offers, find another doctor and go elsewhere for safer options. read more

I am currently pregnant with my third child. My first two children were delivered by my personal doctor, the same doctor that delivered me and my siblings. Due to Centura being the corporation they are, my primary doctor is unable to do prenatal work anymore, after 35 years of deliveries. I was referred to Four Corners OBGYN, I went in with high hopes that because this is what they "specialize" in that it would be a good experience. From the very first appointment it has been a nightmare. The ladies at the front desk have never been anything but rude. I'm always waiting until well after my apt time to be seen by one of the nurse practitioners. I am 30 weeks pregnant and have not meet one of the doctors that may or may not be delivering my child. My ultra sounds have been preformed by women that obviously hate their jobs because they push so hard on my stomach, even after I inform them it hurts. It is like being a cow in the shoot with these people. They also have a real problem with the mother of the child telling them no. I have had two children and have been through the "blood tests" I know what tests I will take and what I will not. There are tests that I do not want to take and I will not take. Standing up for yourself and your child is not rated highly with this group. This could be the reason I am treated the way I am. I wont pay for 20 blood tests when the out come doesn't matter to me or my child. My first child was a premature baby, my second was full term, which puts me in the "high risk": category. I was told I needed to take progesterone shots starting at 16 weeks to help protect me and the baby from a possible pre term labor. I am now 30 weeks and have not received any help from anyone at four corners OBGYN to help get the prescription. I agree with the lady that indicated that she felt sick about having to go to her appointments. I have actually cancelled my appointments because I dread going. I love being pregnant and find this ability to be a huge blessing and wonderful time for my family. Four Corners makes me angry and upset. I do not look forward to any of my visits because I know I will not be treated well and my opinion is wanted. If you can I recommend finding another OBGYN in the Durango area, or maybe a midwife. This wonderful time for you, your baby, your family should be wonderful and special please look else ware for prenatal care. It will save you the emotional stress that isn't needed on you or you baby. read more
