They have extended opening hours which is fantastic so you don't have to take time off work to get an appointment all the time. I've always been given referrals for any family member to really good places as well. Usually they will bulk bill which heaps of places don't do anymore so if someone gets sick the day before pay day it's not a problem. They have a nurse on duty most of the time if you need. They have other more specialised services they offer such as some sports stuff, psychologists, weight management and laser hair removal. they also have a pharmacy in the same complex so you can get your prescriptions filled before you leave. Best features are the definitely the bulk billing, the extended opening hours and their after hours locum service (BEST thing ever is you have really sick kids - the doc comes to you and all the details are still kept on their same files). Usually you do need an appointment nowadays but if it is urgent and you just drop in they can usually work something out.

All the joyous memories of sitting in waiting rooms for the whole night, being treated by amatuer doctors and palmed off to other people/areas and just the whole public health system in general. He came here with a severe knee knock from a collision with a goal post, and he unexpectedly got seen straight away before he had barely sat down, treated by an experienced knowledgeable understandable doctor and fixed up properly and sent on his merry way. Too easy huh? Why can't all hospital experiences be like this? Oh wait I pay a fortune for it, that's why.

Now in my adult life, on the rare occasion that I choose to visit a clinic this is the one I still stand by. It's convenient, its local and it is covered by Medicare. The staff are friendly and the Doctors for the most part (but not whole part) are great. Additionally I find Kingswood Clinic to be fairly efficient and unlike many other clinics, I have never found myself waiting long to see a Doctor. Having said that, it definitely helps to make an appointment prior to attending.

I chose Marden Medical Clinic because it's very local to my home and also has a large number of female doctors on their staff (which is my preference). I had my entire medical history sent to them from my previous GP and since then I have had prescriptions, check-ups and medical certificates from this surgery. I am very happy with the service and would recommend Dr. Lillian Rossi as a practitioner. She is professional and caring, with a great 'bedside manner'. If you're a tertiary student you will also receive a very large discount which makes your gap payment around the $5 mark. Bargain. In a nutshell-here's to good health!

My father in law is 90 and has chronic degenerative back pain and has been prescribed varying grades of opioid based pain relief over the last few months that has been prescribed treatment to find the lifestyle balance between drossiness (decreased cognitive) vs. pain relief vs. elderly trip and falls. A month ago, when first prescribed opioid based pain relief, he was incoherent, hallucinating, non cognitive, depressed, until we intervened and suspended treatment after calling his treating medical practitioner. Next week the dosage was reduced. Last Friday he tripped again and fell and was first family driven to Regency Park Medical Centre (RPMC) where it was explained that he opioid based pain relief is causing him to be too drossy hence his recent incident. At the diagnoses appointment he was dropping off to sleep! After some RPMC diagnoses treatment, he was driven by family to the Wakefield Hospital for a CT scan. Next week he'll spend a few days in another hospital for observation. In summary, when an elderly person has a history of trip and falls, one would hope that any medical practitioner quantifiably assesses the risk of prescribing of: * Nonsteroidal Anti-inflammatory Drugs (NSAIDs); vs. * Opioid based pain relief vs. * balancing between elderly person quality of pain free life whilst accepting adverse consequences of medication e.g. kidney disease. The acceptance upon the elderly patients quality of pain free life whilst accepting consequences of NSAID medication e.g. kidney disease, is because, under a controlled assessment where patients are prepared tolerate the risk of e.g. kidney disease forming in the long term, because the pain relief will be provided in the immediate short term. If you've never left Adelaide you might complain about the quality of medical care here, but you…read moreshould know that by international standards, this is as good as it gets. The standard of care is world class, all medical and non-medical staff are expert and professional, training and procedures are very obviously rigorous, and the level of communication between departments is fantastic (though not perfect). We never felt like we were being pushed out, not even for a minute - in fact, at the slightest indication that there might be something further that needed checking out, we were told to stay for further testing and monitoring. Parking is a bit of a hassle - the two official car parks are nearly always full (but the one under the hospital is a baffling $12 for 48hrs!). There is plenty of street parking if at least one person is willing to walk a bit, but most of it is 2P on weekdays, so beware (I saw them giving fines, although I didn't get one myself). If you don't mind a 10-minute walk up to Barton Terrace, there is unlimited free parking up near the horse paddock up there. The hospital cafe is good, cheap, and has a decent selection of packaged and fresh food, as well as free tea and free instant coffee. There's a lot of space and it's never crowded. $10.50 for a full meal during meal times. Like all hospitals, there are people smoking outside the entrance where it's highly irritating to everyone, even though there is a perfectly good smoking area just across the road with benches and ashtrays. This doesn't have anything to do with the hospital administration, it's more of a general gripe against annoying people, but I needed to get that out there, so thanks for listening. And lastly, we got a free baby with our visit, so thanks, AW&CH!
