Particular shout out to the team of Mike Houze, Tom, and Sara, who have and continue to take great care of me both on land and in the pool with Tom. As someone who has had over a dozen surgeries, and had physical therapy for over two decades in four states, this has been by far my more affirming and supportive experience. Would highly recommend in a heartbeat!

We had heard good things about Medsport so she decided to start going there. It was definitely the right call. They've been great to her! I stopped in yesterday during one of her appointments and observed the exercises they were doing with her and I was really impressed. You could tell they were really working on strengthening not just her foot but the whole leg which had been underutilized since she's been off that side since August. The physical therapists were warm and encouraging. They pushed her without being overly agressive. After some stretches and exercises they also took some time to manipulate and massage her foot to really work the muscles deeply. The facility is clean and spacious. When I was there there weren't a ton of patients so it wasn't crowded or overwhelming. The machines very from stuff you'll see at your local gym to some state of the art equipment. They also offer aquatherapy which allows the patient to do work without a lot of the pressure on the injuries that normal workouts might put on them. I've been really impressed with how fast my mom's gotten back on her feet. She's already walking without crutches around the house. A lot of it is her own determination to get back to normal by diligently working on her exercises at home but I also have to credit MedSport for their fantastic work as well. I have back problems and I'm already planning on asking my doctor for a referral to go do some PT there as well.

Apparently she had not even submmited the request yet to get them from off site (and this was a month of almost daily calls later) and it would be another week. She then had the nerve to bring up charges were necessary. Shouldn't that come up when I FIRST made the request? 5 star doctor, 0 Star Office. Would not go back unless he replaces them. It's also impossible to get a hold of the actual Doctor by phone as his receptionists just claims its not their problem, the Office Manager - whom does not have normal working hours or a phone number - will contact you, which she never does.

I personally recommend my family to him because he is truely a great doctor. He is very thorough and takes his time with patients and addresses all needs. He is also very kind and has beautiful bedside manner. I am speaking this as a patient not as an employee for doctor Sukhon is my personal family doctor. In regards to the medical record complaint, we have a lot of medical record requests and we have to address them in the order they come. Sorry that you feel yours wasn't addressed in a timely manner, but I assure you we have great patient care and never meant to make you feel otherwise. If medical records are requested around the time of transfer and not years later it is also takes much less time to send. After a certain amount of years records have to go to storage. We have to make sure all records are sent accordingly as well as maintain the office appropriately. Sorry for any inconvenience.

Overall the atmosphere of the whole clinic/center is relaxed and laid back. There's a television in the waiting room and everything feels clean and up to date. I did not receive any physician care here but I did take advantage of the walk-in lab to get blood drawn. And when I say "drawn blood" I mean TWELVE vials (my new doc is apparently extremely thorough). The woman working at the lab was awesome. She was a little snarky but in a completely accessible warm, joking way. She was meticulous with checking and double-checking all the labs that were ordered. I warned her about my veins being crap (at most places, they stab into my arm and then "dig around" continually moving the needle under my skin and stabbing every which way until they finally get a vein - I don't mind needles or pain but it's sickening). This lady, on the other hand, felt both my veins and was careful to choose a small needle. She stuck me once, precisely, right into my vein, and got a good draw. THANK YOU, LORD. Next time I need vampirical services, I won't hesitate to return.

I guess most folks do too because the only downside is that there's usually about a 3 month wait to see her! But I've been lucky that so far I haven't had any emergency issues to need to get in all that quickly so a 3-month wait hasn't been terrible. A few times I've needed prescriptions filled last minute and the staff has always been friendly and extended my refill until I was able to get into see the Dr. Most recently I was in yesterday for my yearly physical. Admittedly, despite being completely enamored with all things having to do with the medical profession, I have a bit of doctor's office phobia when it comes to my own appointments and I get really nervous whenever I visit (nothing personal, docs! I'm just a worrywart!) but the staff here puts me at ease. Everyone is great from the check in front desk staff to the nurses (there is one in particular that I've seen several times and she's the best! I'm terrible with names so I can't recall to give shout her out, sadly!) to the medical student who did my preliminary exam. Dr. Holmstrom is also so sweet and supportive and really friendly. Admittedly I've had a pretty grief-stricken year so anxiety/depression has been a bit of a struggle for me the last few months. She really took the time to talk through some of my issues and make sure that I was taking care of myself through all of it. They really do care here! UofM also has the neat health portal online where you can make appointments, view test results, request refills, etc. Everything you may need at your fingertips 24 hours a day. Just make sure you have your medical record number handy as you'll need it, if you're like me and forget your login & password all.the.time! ALSO--this office also houses the Japanese Family Health Program. This doesn't pertain to me but I think it's great they offer the services to Japanese speaking members of the population (several other clinics in the area service other languages).
