The photographer was a sweet young girl but I didn't get the feeling that she knew what she was doing. first: her camera had this huge flash that kept startling my newborn second: she kept trying to stick a bow on my baby's head with lotion so the photos came out very unnatural third: the images were really washed out. Actually, It's sad to say but the photos that my sis-in-law took with her point and shoot came out better. So, in 2011, when I had baby number 3, I saved myself and the photography company the time and kindly told them that I hire a photographer (I should probably tell them about how I feel I know but I didn't have the heart since their employees seem so nice.). Mary is awesome. we did the shoot at my house, in the baby's nursery, while rocking in the chair by the window (so there were no startling flashes), and then took some shots on the changing table after changing her diaper (while I held the baby of course!). Prior to the night of the event Mary gathered important information from me to insure that pictures she took would be appreciated by the family. Which she taught me is very important information to give a photographer especially at an event with 200+ guests. She was easy to keep in contact with in case there were any changes on the night of the party or any added information I wanted to let her know for the sake of the pictures. It was a night full of family, and performances and Mary was able to capture beautiful and memorable moments throughout the night.
