On hold for almost 10 minutes without anyone picking up. Ok, they had just opened and were maybe getting lots of calls. Tried calling about an hour and a half later, got a message that someone would pick up in approximately 16 minutes. Never did. When you call there are lots of options. I chose 2 which was to make an appointment or talk to the receptionist. Then I had to chose 1 if it was regarding an appointment already scheduled or 2 if it was for a new patient. No option to select make an appointment for an established patient. Selected 1, no one picked up, disconnected me after about 8 minutes. Then I tried 2, even though my aunt is not a new patient. On hold for over 10 minutes, then someone finally picked up only to tell me I called the wrong line, which I get because I was just trying to get a hold of anyone. Sounded like he was in a call center in another country, had a hard time understanding what he was telling me. Put me on hold to try and connect me to the correct line. He couldn't get a hold of anyone either, so told me he left my number for someone to call me back. No call back after waiting 3 hours, so I tried calling again. Of course I couldn't get through, so I left a message with my phone number. I've just never had this much trouble getting a hold of a doctor's office when originally trying to call first thing in the morning. It's now almost 4:30 and they'll be closing soon. There may be great doctors, but if you can't get ahold of anyone to make an appointment what's the point. I was being persistent because an ER doctor said to get my aunt in as soon as possible.

As many others who have written reviews, I too felt I was taken advantage of at this practice. After being told I paid in full I received a near $700.00 bill. Flabbergasted, I called and talked to Wendy who then took no accountability and blamed my insurance for the "miscommunication". After waiting weeks to hear back from Wendy about reducing my bill, I finally reached out again to hear the same answer back about it being my insurance's fault. Hours of phone calls and emails and I can tell you, it was indeed not my insurance's fault - the practice completely misquoted me. Sadly, I would not recommend. Paying an out of pocket cost I was not informed of tells me that this practice focuses on the dollars in their pocket rather than the care their patients receive. The lack of transparency about payments is unethical and they need to change how they quote immediately. As someone who herself has compiled quotes in a medical office, there is no excuse for this. This is the simplest form of bait and switch ploy. To back this 1 star review up even more - my whole experience was anything but smooth. I had three moles removed the same day. It felt rushed and pressured. I didn't even know I was getting them removed that day until billing came in. One mole was on my foot. They did not stitch and wrap it properly and I ended up bleeding through my shoe in Walgreens picking up my prescription. This then led me to passing out in Walgreens. Yes. So fun. I called the Dr. to say I didn't think the bleeding was normal. They had me come back and offered to add more stitches to the toe RAW! No numbing! I declined saying that sounds painful and preferred it to be wrapped instead. The healing process was anything but pleasant but the stitch removal was one of the most painful experiences of my life. The type of pain you grimace just thinking about for days and weeks later. Honestly, the pain from the suture removal comes second under kidney stones for me. I didn't expect this experience to be pleasant but I certainly didn't expect it to be this traumatic. So no, I do not recommend.

Unresolved Issues and Unprofessional Response…read more I had surgery with Dr. Bruneteau at Aesthetic Surgical Images in Omaha in 2018. Unfortunately, I have lived with the physical and emotional consequences of that surgery ever since. After years of working hard to improve the results on my own--with no success--I finally reached out to Dr. Bruneteau in 2025 to ask if he would consider helping me correct the outcome. I was told no, simply because too much time had passed. What shocked me even more was the response that followed. Rather than compassion or a willingness to discuss my concerns, I received a threatening letter from his attorney, warning me not to share my experience publicly or risk legal action. So not only was I left with disappointing surgical results, but now I'm also being intimidated for daring to speak out about it. I believe patients have the right to share their honest experiences--especially when those experiences involve feeling dismissed and threatened instead of supported. If you're considering surgery here, I encourage you to do thorough research and ask lots of questions. My only regret is not speaking up sooner.

I worked in the med field for 42 years. It is pretty clear to me that the Admin at this hospital has a real focus on Care on not just on budget. I always felt looped into my wife's care. In our two visits to the Cath Lab both were positive experiences. Dr's Parekh and Thibideau were outstanding. I know good care and this visit gave it at every level. I made an informed decision to take my wife to Methodist Omaha and was not disappointed. I highly recommend this provider institution.

The main hospital address is 8303 Dodge Street Omaha, NE 68114-4199 but they will tell you that written communications can't be sent anywhere except the Remittance PO Box. That is hard to believe and is a prime example of waste by duplicating administrative staff as well as making patients write multiple checks for the same account, which by the way they will call you about mentioning the total due for all of the different invoices making it difficult to trust if they are legitimate or just another scam. Until you have a chance to find all the related separate bills arriving days apart. Telling us to sign up on bestcare.org is also a red flag since 3 out of 4 other medical sites / apps we have been tricked into signing up for locally have sent us notifications in 2024 and 2025 that their data systems had been hacked and our personal information had been stolen. This co-dependance on third party billing and data aps is dangerous. Great Experiences with Methodist in the past are being overshadowed by wasteful and likely intentionally divisive billing practices and third party codependency. Shame on administration for buying into the distract and deceptive business models of corporate medicine!

Sally, the PA, was warm and thorough. She explained my break and the treatment options in a way that made everything feel a little less intimidating. Then Dr. Bruggeman came in with that same mix of professionalism and kindness, and together they quickly determined surgery was needed. Here's the kicker: they scheduled my surgery that same day! I had to juggle a few things at work, but honestly, I was just so grateful to get the process started and my wrist on the mend. This wasn't my first rodeo with Ortho Nebraska (shoutout to my other wrist and a few stubborn shoulders), and once again, they proved why I'll keep coming back...I just really hope I don't have to for a while. My goal was to gain clarity on my condition, as I previously felt I was not receiving clear answers--only recommendations for procedures--despite the impact this injury has on my ability to perform my job. The check-in process was efficient and professional. After being called back, I was weighed and taken to an evaluation room. Approximately ten minutes later, a nurse practitioner entered. She was friendly and took the time to ask detailed questions about the incident. She conducted an evaluation and asked whether my original provider had performed an X-ray of my hand or only a visual assessment. When I explained that only a visual evaluation had been done, she expressed concern that imaging had not been completed. She also stated that, based on her review of my chart, I did not have carpal tunnel syndrome but instead may have a rheumatoid autoimmune condition. This was new information to me and had not previously been communicated by my original specialist. I did note that my primary care provider at Methodist Hospital had once mentioned the possibility of an autoimmune issue but had not confirmed a diagnosis. The nurse practitioner indicated she would step out to conduct further research and return with additional information. Approximately fifteen minutes later, Dr. Jeffrey Tiedeman entered the room. He asked questions that I had already addressed and referenced my visit to the emergency room due to loss of feeling in my right hand. At that point, the experience shifted. He examined my hands and stated that an X-ray was needed to confirm a carpal tunnel diagnosis. I asked whether this could be performed during my visit, and he instructed me to follow up with my current provider instead. I explained that my current provider had not recommended or ordered an X-ray. I asked again for assistance, and my request was declined. It became clear to me that my concerns were not being fully addressed, and I did not feel supported in obtaining answers about my condition. Both the doctor and nurse practitioner then left the room without explanation and did not return. I waited approximately fifteen minutes before realizing the visit had concluded without closure, guidance, or next steps. This experience was disappointing, as I sought a second opinion to better understand my condition and receive appropriate direction for treatment. Unfortunately, the lack of communication and follow-through did not meet those expectations.

The office is very professionally run and my initial consultation was extremely thorough using state of the art equipment. After reviewing the test results, the surgeon came in and gave me detailed information on my surgical options. Once I made my decision, I was given cost estimates, broken down by what insurance would pay and what I would have to pay. I was then scheduled for surgery. I've never used contacts since I couldn't stand the thought of putting things on my eyes, so obviously I was nervous about getting surgery on my eyes. But the initial surgery on my left eye went extremely well and the surgical experience was actually interesting. I went back the next day for my right eye and that went well too. The entire staff was very professional and caring, and I got hot cookies both days after surgery to make sure I tolerated the anesthetic. I selected lens that would correct my astigmatism and am so glad I did. Today I went to my regular doctor for follow up, and I now have 20/20 distance vision without glasses. I've worn glasses to correct my astigmatism since 1977 so having my distance vision back is fantastic. The overall experience at Vance Thompson Vision was first class.
