Warning: Fossa Hair Salon is awful. Do not waste your money here- you will be flushing it down the toilette - along with your time- only to be left with bad, ruined hair that you'll have to pay to fix!
Fossa totally ripped me off, and I want to warn others. I would hate for what happened to me to happen to anyone else who goes there.
I have never had such a bad experience or been so upset over such bad services! I have experienced this place to be compltetely an unprofessional, two bit salon with a terrible attitude, stylists who are totally untrained in treatments they offer, and a 'treat customer in the worst way possible' policy. Also, I found them to be entirely unethical and conduct themselves without integrity.
I highly advise others: DO NO TRUST YOUR HAIR WITH THEM OR WASTE YOUR MONEY OR TIME WITH THEM.
I found them online, booked an appointment, paid full price for a keratin treatment, which was done improperly by the stylist, Lauren, who didn't bother to even clip my hair into sections while applying the treatment like any professional stylist - even a hair school stylist - would. I pointed out that she missed doing the entire back of my head. She was very rude and dismissive and did a half-assed job of semi-straightening that area (which she hadn't applied the treatment to). She actually hadn't done a proper job of straightening any of the rest of my hair either). I then pointed to other areas she missed and she huffed 'I'm not doing any more, you're getting a first timer discount' with a huge chip on her shoulder and turned on her heel disrespectfully. (They offer $15 off to first time customers. apparently this makes them feel that they are entitled to do a half assed job on the service itself because of this - I mean, to actually have the audacity to throw that in my face as justification for doing a bad job and not correcting it is beyond me. Abhorrent business practice.
I complained to the manager immediately after. I explained I was super upset by her treatment of me, and the improper job she did on my hair.
She told me I would have to call the owner, who could not speak with me then.
I called the owner who told me she could only speak one week later at 7.00 pm (I used to have a business of my own and the idea of telling an upset customer you can only speak with them a week later when you are at the business every day ranks extremely low on the customer service scale)
Low and behold, 3 days later when I washed out the keratin treatment (good thing I knew to do this 3 days later from having had the treatment in the past, because Lauren the untrained, unprofessional stylist didn't mention anything! If you get a keratin treatment wet before the 3 days it will be ruined)
I simply wanted them to fix it or refund my money. It pains me to throw a hard-earned $100 down the drain on ruined hair - on top of having to waste my time when I have to get the treatment all over again again. I can't afford to!
On the following Thursday (today) I went in to the salon and asked if I could speak with the owner sometime when she was free in the day, as I would be going out of town on Friday and could not come in to show her my ruined hair.
The manager told me to come back at 3 pm. I left my work to go back, as instructed, at 3pm and the manager said the owner couldn't speak with me until tomorrow, but regardless she was not going to do anything.
I explained I either simply want my hair fixed or a refund if they are unwilling to fix it. She said I would have to speak with the owner but she knew the owner would tell me she still wasn't going to do anything (which she had apparently decided without even speaking with me or seeing my hair. Really bad way of doing business!)
I said I would wait for the owner as I wanted to show her my hair, which I couldn't do over the phone. The owner - Allison- cane over and said that regardless of the fact that the job was done improperly she was not going to give me a refund, plain and simple - without letting me so much as explain the situation.
I said this sounded absurd to me and asked again if they would please fix it or give me a refund - and reminded her that I had complained and called her the very day I got it done.
They refused to give me a refund or fix it, so I wasted $100 and my time. Now I need to spend the time and money getting it done properly.
This is the worst, most unprofessional, unskilled and unknowledgeable and rudest 2-bit salon I've ever been to!!!
The.worst.
