So, I gave the dentist brand the benefit of the doubt and went to get a second opinion over at the sun prairie clinic. Imagine my surprise when the dentist there figures out my problem in two minutes by looking at my x-ray and saying my filling is off which is causing my pain. My other dentist did not even tell me the tooth that was causing me had a filling. One would think that it would be extremely relevant to know that the tooth causing me pain had had work done on it before!

I had more surgery and replaced them, but again there was no interconnection of the implants. and 1 by 1 they failed again. Now I have a shard of metal from a failed implant starting to protrude through my gum. Dental Health Associates wants me to pay all over again, but I am now retired and cannot pay thousands of dollars. I have no legal recourse because the statute of limitations (3 years) has passed since the first surgery. Medicare doesn't cover dental, and I cant even afford to pay the 175 dollars for a consultation for a repair. I am in pain constantly, and my only option is to wait for the metal to work its way out of my jaw and hope I don't get an infection. I cannot eat or speak properly, and I have no idea what is going to happen.

Once the dental assistant brought me back I asked if my boyfriend can come with me and she said no. I went in, X-rays were fine but when the dentist came I told him my concern if there was something wrong with my tooth in the inside because I see something and unsure if it was a cavity on my gum line area. He didn't even check that area at all and cared about the other cavities. It's fine but if u ignore my concern then I don't really know if u are paying attention to your patients concerns first. Once I finished, I was not even consulted for how much it would cost, they just gave me a piece of paper and scheduled me and that was it. I scheduled my appointment on the 26th of this month in Feb. I needed to cancel my appointment or reschedule due to family, I called them and the person said no you cannot cancel you HAVE TO COME FOR YOUR APPOINTMENT. I was like so I cannot even cancel or reschedule it at all? He said no because the doctor takes the limited exams and has other patients. I was confused and angry so I hung up without even saying that I was confirming my appointment. 2 MINUTES LATER THEY CONFIRMED MY APPOINTMENT AFTER THE CALL. I was confused why they confirmed my appointment if I wanted to cancel and reschedule my appointment and if I didn't even confirm it with them over the phone. They even said through next if I cannot make it I can let them know in advance my calling them. Even though it was a day before my appointment I could've at least have the option to reschedule on my end? Just felt like they want money.

TERRIBLE! Zero stars. I write this review out of compassion for you, so that you will not encounter…read morethe things I have at Familia Dental in Madison, WI. I have not been to a dentist in many years but had an emergency when a crown I've had for over 30 years broke. I called and they would not give me an appointment but told me to come sit in the waiting room from 9-12 and if there was an opening they would get me in. I arrived a little after 9am to a giant waiting room with one person waiting for an appointment. They said they had a cancellation and gave me a 10 am appointment. I get in the back and it's all open. There are connected bays where you can stand up, look around and see everyone who's there and what's happening. I took the broken 30+ year crown along and showed it to the dentist who said he couldn't use it. Since my tooth is still alive I wanted to get a replacement crown and be done with it. The dentist, a younger male, said that no, a replacement crown would not work on the tooth post that had just lost the crown. He told me no, it's too heavy, and it won't work. Even though it had for over 30 years "somehow" it won't work now. He marked me for stupid, and he really thinks he's outsmarted me... So he wants to kill the tooth, fill it with cement and a metal post and build it up. I told him the crown came off because of what I was doing, and it will be fine as it has been for 30+ years. He continued telling me that NO, the crown won't stay on and he needed to do this drastic, invasive, painful, and expensive treatment instead. Then his assistant came in and boisterously announced in front of the other patient (from the waiting room) that my insurance does not pay for tooth colored crowns, only metal coverings. So they then told me they need $1400 from me to do the service if I want it tooth colored and $700 cash is due at each of the next two appointments. I asked if they could cover the exposed dentin layer today and they said no. I left with a dentin exposed "broken" (technically exposed) front tooth. They showed zero mercy and would not even coat the tooth for me and sent me out into the world exactly as I came in.---------- After that I went to a DIFFERENT CLINIC NOT FAMILIA and the dentist promptly glued my crown back together, positioned it in place and his very kind assistant began impressions; I left the appointment with a temporary crown cemented into place protecting the exposed dentin and giving me back my dignity as it was one of my front teeth. The crown from another dentist (not Familia) looks like my actual teeth, without pain, lies, embarrassment, shame, shadiness of not allowing an appointment and PS-- the clerk was wrong, I called my insurance provider and my insurance DOES pay for tooth colored treatments. Familia dental is absolutely awful!!! Don't ever go there!!! Familia Dental in Madison, WI was very, very shady at every stage of the process, and my care and dignity was not even on their list as they want to make an UNNECESSARY, EXPENSIVE, and PAINFUL project and process out of me. Dr Andersen and crew have always been friendly and professional. They provide wonderful care. At 68 years old, I've been to a number of dentists over the years. Dr Andersen and staff are the best! I'd like to add that yesterday an old crown that had been placed by a prior dentist fractured and chipped off. I called Artisan Dental last evening to see if I could get in today. I got a return call at 7:15 this morning, was in their chair at 9 AM, and was done with a new crown at 11:15 AM. Thank you so much Rochelle, Dr Rehermann, and Cassie for such speedy, kind, and professional service. I have no idea how people could have had negative experiences. After going at least twice a year for 8 years, I've always been treated exceptionally well. It's true the office is like a very hip spa, and the equipment is state of the art, but the most important part is the people that work there. They're incredible.

However, if they late cancel your appointment they aren't accommodating for a re-schedule. Unless you can re-arrange your life expect to be several months out--as in at the time of your next cleaning. As a professional myself if I have to late cancel someone due to unforeseen circumstances I make sure to go above and beyond to accommodate a re-schedule that is convenient for the person because I value the time they set aside. I guess I should always remember that not everyone has that same level of professionalism.
