For 12 years I have been going to Fortune Cookie - Thursday dropped in to try the Hunan Shrimp - so good after eating at home I wanted to return for more. To me that is what separates the good restaurants - they don't need to beg you to come back, you return for the food; but also for the friendly service, the clean appearance. I ordered sesame chicken combination platter it came with sesame chicken and pork fried rice and an egg roll. I also ordered fried seafood cream cheese wontons and steamed dumplings . The only thing that resembled being tasty/ edible was the rice and the sesame chicken combination. Everything else was absolutely trash egg roll was a sponge for grease it was overcooked. The dumplings meat inside was good but the wrapping/dough so thick it was like pork buns. The fried seafood cream cheese wontons were awful usually when you order anywhere else it comes with a sweet and sour sauce which would have been very helpful to make these wontons palatable . The wontons were nothing but hot cream cheese wrapped in a wonton wrapper. I definitely won't be going back for anything but maybe fried rice as it was really the only good thing. read more

This has been our go to takeout restaurant since we moved to the area over a year ago. My family has been working our way through the menu, trying different items and have never had a bad experience until our most recent trip. We got a few new items and a few tried and true and all items were subpar. Pan fried noodles were soaked in grease, fried rice was colorless and had no flavor, spring rolls were cold in the middle (despite the outside being hot, which makes me believe they weren't cooked thoroughly from frozen). Additionally, all of the containers were thrown haphazardly into the bag and covered in sauce/grease. Overall, not a good experience. Hoping the next time is better, otherwise this will be off our meal rotation. read more

Tried this place for the first time. Pictured is King Pao Shrimp, chicken wings and fried dumplings. We also had steak on stick and crab rangoons. Everything was just ok. Just not a whole lot of flavor across the board was the main problem. Things could be better if the crab rangoons were served with sweet and sour sauce, wings served with mumbo sauce and less salt in the dumpling sauce. They did have a cool set up to get the food. Their food is very tasty and neatly prepared. They do not include utensils and sauces unless you ask for them. That's not a problem except for the fact that I forget to ask for them when I go in. This is an unjustifiable score because it has nothing to do with customer service or quality of food. It's not like they want to close and lose money. Wear a jacket if you must wait for food. My food was still being prepared, paid for it, got home in 10 minutes: 1. Wanton Soup was lukewarm, lacked taste, and wantons felt like not completely cooked. 2. Beef with Chinese vegetables was also lukewarm. Tasty and like the vegetables. 3. The House Special Fries Rice was ok, just small pieces of seafood and meat. Temperature was ok. Fortune Cookie has been around for as long as I can remember. Chinese food doesn't get any better than their house fried rice. When I lived in California my mom and I would visit relatives in Maryland once a year, and I think I was just as excited about Fortune Cookie house fried rice as seeing my family. I just can't say enough about the fried rice. The rest of their food is delicious as well, and it's consistently delicious. In all the years I've been getting food from Fortune Cookie, they've never had an off day. It's Chinese food that will make your heart smile every time you eat it. The staff is friendly and efficient, and the prices are great. The one thing to note is that Fortune Cookie is a takeout place. There are tables and hard plastic booths to sit at while you wait for your food, and you can eat it there if you choose, but I don't think it would be comfortable for an extended period of time, and you aren't going to get waited on. I recommend calling in your order ahead of time to minimize your wait, and definitely order the house fried rice. read more

Food is fair. We had general tsao chicken, moo shoo chicken, wonton soup and oh oh platter. The platter was very dried out and not that great. Soup was hot and kids liked it.
