I was looking to buy a couple of trees, so I thought I'd give Fort Wayne Trees a shot since I've seen their billboards a few times. They had a great selection of big, big trees, and the guys working there were very happy to show me all the options while I went back and forth trying to figure out the right choice. I ended up buying one tree off the lot, and another was ordered for me. They were able to schedule delivery and planting within a few weeks. The guys who planted the trees were very friendly, efficient, and made sure to provide instructions on how to care for the trees. We picked our trees in the late Summer for planting in the Fall. The trees were packed in together and still all had leaves on them so we picked three. When they came to plant it was late Fall and the leaves had dropped off. It was obvious that one of the trees had a damaged trunk. It appeared that the tree had been topped several times and a limb had grown up to replace the trunk. This was a junk tree that never should have been sold. Unfortunately when it had leaves on and was placed in a group you could not tell. We paid $600 for a tree Lowes would not sell. DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE!! read more

We purchased 2 trees 2 years ago. They were planned in the fall. It the Spring the folliage looked week. Called "FWT", they had me contact Tree Master... Who felt the trees were PLANTED TOO DEEP, like 6 inches or more and at least one tree needed to be replaced. Contacted FWT, they sent a CREW out late last fall. As they went to lift the better tree, the trunk broke at a spot that FWT said was not a problem when they were planted. So the replacement tree was planted there by the FWT CREW. It did not look alive (did not show any growth from the year),Called about it and they said to give it to spring to see if it would come out of it. So then they went to the tree that was supposed to be replaced and tried to lift it. This passed spring neither tree looked healthy, the dead one did nothing and the raised tree showed signs of root sprout and pale tiny leaves. Called FWT and they said call Tree Master again. Tree Master said the Lifted tree was still too deep and was beginning to show rot at the trunk/ ground level. The replaced tree still did not show and signs of life. So in July we contacted FWT and they said that the trees had "succumbed to stress and that they would replace on under the warranty but the second tree would cost half price ($125.)". We contacted them about being PLANTED BY THEIR CREW too deep, and they said that it would still cost $125. to cover the cost of them sending their crew out 3 times. So much for "Satisfaction Guarantee". They said it would be fall before they had the replacement trees, Contacted them in September, October, finally they called late November they had the trees. It was November 27 before they could plant the trees. these replacement trees are a lot smaller than the ones we purchased, and they still demanded the $125. Not a good place to purchase as the WARRANTY means nothing, and as for Satisfaction Guarantee.... WHAT IS THAT? read more

Nice trees not saying they are not. Messed up our yard while delivering and planting trees in our neighbors yard. Never came to our door to let us know what happened and tried to hide it. I looked out window and saw them dumping dirt and sod in our yard. They removed it when I told them to but never should have happened. read more

Here another opinion of doing business with Fort Wayne Trees. I purchased 10 Arborvitae 7foot trees almost a year ago. I've watered them when it was hot with no rain. They developed yellowed areas, gradually increasing in size and to all the trees shortly after planting. I thought it might be a watering problem. I took photos of them on Sept 17, 2019 and sent them to Fort Wayne trees. They said they would contact an Arborist to exam the trees on Sept 18, 2019 and it might take 2 weeks. I waited a week with no contact from an Arborist from them. So I contact ed An Arborist myself who came out and informed me the trees had Spider mites and gave me quotes on spraying for the mites and fertilizing the trees. Per Phil at Fort Wayne Trees their "Satisfaction Guarantee" only refers to sales, and installation ! After that they will do nothing about any problems you might have, such as spider mites. You are on your own after the trees are installed, which in my opinion doesn't meet their stated advertisement of "Satisfaction Guaranteed or your money back" and is a dishonest advertisement. They could have at least offered to treat the trees for spider mites at a cost to me but did not. I am disappointed in their response to my tree issue and certainly didn't love doing business with them Carol O. read more
