Recently moved to the area, and was looking for a groomer for my little pup. I had previously gone to PetSmart in Southern Pines, and frankly, hated the service and prices. Fort Wagg is leaps and bounds above the service I had been receiving at PetSmart. It is a locally owned business, with a sweet and caring staff, and the grooming skills to pay the bills! The storefront itself is quite cute, tucked away in the corner of a plaza, and boasts an hefty stock of pet products in very small space. Not overcrowded, but just the right amount. Prices on products are what you'd expect from a small shop, a little higher than at big box, but the grooming service prices are fantastic in comparison. AND... it's called "Fort Wagg," right outside Fort Bragg... so darn cute. Highly Highly recommended, and I wish I could give more stars. read more

they hardly have anything in terms of supplies or animals, the fish they do have are overpriced, all of their reptiles are mislabeled, and when you try to talk to ANYONE there you get treated subhuman. I wouldn't buy dog food if it was a penny here. read more

I prefer coming here to purchase fish and other small animals as it is evident the staff takes very good care of their animals. The animals for sale here are very reasonably priced. They contain a wide variety of reptile, amphibian, and fish food, to include live food such as crickets and mealworms. I needed to purchase fruit flies for my spider one time. They do not carry fruit flies on hand, however if you ask the staff there they can order them for you for you to pick up there. I think it is such a nice small pet store. I sometimes just go in there to look at what they have. I have never used their pet grooming services but I everyone seems happy when they are there. read more

This place is awesome. Best customer service,I went in to get nail trim for my puppy. First of all their groomer Grace (if I'm not wrong with the name) is very knowledgeable of what she's doing. Don't go by her straight out of high school looks. She was amazing with my hyper boxer puppy. They took my puppy and since there were not much trimming needed they just didn't charge me at all. They're very honest in their services and would not overcharge. They not only deliver great service but I was so happy to see they don't hire people by looking at their age but by looking at their capability. Highly recommend this business. The staff was very helpful to me when Diamond had to change her food to a natural diet. The store is close to us, clean and very cute. But they did not clean her anal glands or pull the hairs in her ear so now I have to make a vet appointment so they can pull the hairs and treat her ear infection. My husband takes her in so I'm not their to remind them of these things but they should automatically do these things. It's expected. We feel like they rush and take advantage of people who don't address such things but it hurts the pet and our wallets in the long run. So sad. read more

I've gone to fort wagg several times we had excellent service with an appointment that included a bath, nail trim, nail file, glands, and teeth brushing. When there was a perceived issue the owner of the business reached out to me personally to discuss the issue and helped me to understand the time frame of the appointment better. The people who work here are awesome! I brought my dog in for the first time the other day and they really took their time making sure she was clean, and comfortable. Her nails look great which is important to me, I asked them to file them instead of cutting them and that's definitely what they did. You can tell the difference just looking at them and I've had other groomers try to lie and say they filed them when they really just cut them. I will be coming back here next time my dog needs grooming. They have a lot of awesome toys and healthy treats for dogs here as well! I'm glad this place was built. read more
