Paid, told us keys were in room and leave them there on the way out. Room was NICE. Hardwood floors, tile in the bathroom. Toilet a little to close to the wall but my fat butt made it OK. Water pressure at sink was very weak. AC/heater was tremendous. It was cold when we were there but the unit warmed it quickly. Beds very comfortable (2 queens), white blankets and sheets. Was like walking into a surgical suite. Almost made me nervous I would not be clean enough. Clerk advised us on a place to eat when we asked, 2 options: One we could eat inside and one in the car. Guess which we took. Tremendous. HINT: Bring cash. No cards or checks accepted.

Going by the rules in the majority of parks we have stayed in are generally the same. They include no tent camping (some have special areas), max number of guests per site. Both of those were blatantly violated while we stayed here. The people two sites down from us had at least 10 people in one fifth wheel. It was hard to count them all. They also set up two tents and had three vehicles parked in adjoining sites. Two dogs barking constantly. My husband finally went over asked them to quiet down their dogs. They acted like nobody ever told them that before. What? Not everyone in the park wants to hear our dogs bark 24/7? They did control them somewhat after that. They say they have wifi, we specifically asked. She did say its not good for streaming. OK, we want to be able to get online, scope out the area, check email etc. She said oh yeah, you can do that! NOPE. We were there 5 days, never once when I tried to log on did it work. I didnt notice until we were on our way out, but the park is also a used car lot. Its on one side. Maybe that is why so many people are parked so haphazardly near the office. We were barley able to squeeze our class A by to get to our site. Pros? Well the site was pretty level. Sorry cant think of any other. Needless to say we wont be back.

Paul called a few places and decided we should stay right down town at the Olde Main Street Inn. We were greeted with a free drink to "brush off the road dust" from Jeanne, the owner/bartender. Jeanne was very friendly and offered a pleasant stay! The room was very old with many antiques. Jeanne left the other rooms open so we can peak around and see the different styles of rooms. Have an open mind with the shower, since it wasn't a tub, more of a drain in the ground to collect water, but it does the trick! Jeanne made a very large and moist cinnamon bun and coffee! She also took us around the old diner (what used to be open) to see an original well. I recommend to stay here if you ever find yourself in Chadron, NE.

It is maybe the quirkiest place I've ever stayed, but it was really cool and I'm glad I stayed here instead of one of the chain motels in town. Jeanne, the inn keeper/bartender was very friendly (as was her mom!) and made us feel at home with a free drink to "wash away the road dust." I liked that. I'll probably never stay in Chadron again, but if I did I bet I'd stay here! The room was the cheapest one they offered at only $65 for the night and it was small, but comfortable. You can get suites up to $95 and they were much bigger and provide a kitchen and multiple rooms. The shower wasn't the greatest, but this place was built in 1890 and I don't think many updates have been made to it since then. For breakfast, Jeanne prepared these unbelievable cinnamon rolls. I ate almost two since my fiancee has been on a health kick.

The rooms were nice, spacious, and super clean. They do have a heavy air freshener but you no longer notice it within a few minutes and the room reflected the time they spend on upkeep. The front desk staff was friendly and reflected the same price in person as I saw on many of the booking apps. I checked in late at night but called the number and they were responsive and politeZ They also have a working ice machine and filtered water to fill up water bottles on the way out. The fire lookout tower is often closed, but if you ask, they'll usually give you the key to climb it. There's also a nice pool in summer. Docked one star for the frequent trains nearby.
