Fort Robinson State Park in Crawford, Nebraska is one of the best camping experiences we've had in…read morethe Midwest. The RV camping facilities are excellent--the sites are spacious, well-maintained, and surrounded by beautiful scenery that provides a fantastic escape into nature. The hookups were convenient and everything was clean and easy to access, making it a very comfortable stay for RV travelers. One of the highlights of our visit was the horseback riding. Riding through the scenic bluffs and open countryside was unforgettable and a perfect way to experience the park's historic landscape. The staff were friendly and helpful, since 3 of us had never ridden a horse before. We were able to walk the stables before our ride and the horses were well cared for, which made the ride enjoyable for everyone in our group. We also loved having a restaurant right in the park. After a day of exploring, it was great to sit down to a hearty meal without having to leave the area. The food was delicious, the portions were generous, and the atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming. For rockhounds, the park is also a short drive from the Crawford Rock Shop, Agate Beds National Park, and public areas to rockhound. Between the beautiful setting, great RV amenities, memorable horseback riding, and the convenient restaurant, Fort Robinson State Park offers a truly well-rounded experience. We'll definitely be back!

Paid, told us keys were in room and leave them there on the way out. Room was NICE. Hardwood floors, tile in the bathroom. Toilet a little to close to the wall but my fat butt made it OK. Water pressure at sink was very weak. AC/heater was tremendous. It was cold when we were there but the unit warmed it quickly. Beds very comfortable (2 queens), white blankets and sheets. Was like walking into a surgical suite. Almost made me nervous I would not be clean enough. Clerk advised us on a place to eat when we asked, 2 options: One we could eat inside and one in the car. Guess which we took. Tremendous. HINT: Bring cash. No cards or checks accepted.

It was $6 for kids five and under, $7 for everybody else. The pool itself is large, there weren't a lot of people there when we were there so the kids got a lot of space to themselves. There were two diving boards, and the kids had a good time. There is also an outdoor area to eat and a baby kids pool outside. The entire place was really clean, the showers and restrooms were good, not to mention included, so definitely take your shower here if you're staying at Fort Robinson so you don't have to pay to use the shower house. Kids had a great time and we're asking to go back again. I swam and also I had a great time.

Paul called a few places and decided we should stay right down town at the Olde Main Street Inn. We were greeted with a free drink to "brush off the road dust" from Jeanne, the owner/bartender. Jeanne was very friendly and offered a pleasant stay! The room was very old with many antiques. Jeanne left the other rooms open so we can peak around and see the different styles of rooms. Have an open mind with the shower, since it wasn't a tub, more of a drain in the ground to collect water, but it does the trick! Jeanne made a very large and moist cinnamon bun and coffee! She also took us around the old diner (what used to be open) to see an original well. I recommend to stay here if you ever find yourself in Chadron, NE.

It is maybe the quirkiest place I've ever stayed, but it was really cool and I'm glad I stayed here instead of one of the chain motels in town. Jeanne, the inn keeper/bartender was very friendly (as was her mom!) and made us feel at home with a free drink to "wash away the road dust." I liked that. I'll probably never stay in Chadron again, but if I did I bet I'd stay here! The room was the cheapest one they offered at only $65 for the night and it was small, but comfortable. You can get suites up to $95 and they were much bigger and provide a kitchen and multiple rooms. The shower wasn't the greatest, but this place was built in 1890 and I don't think many updates have been made to it since then. For breakfast, Jeanne prepared these unbelievable cinnamon rolls. I ate almost two since my fiancee has been on a health kick.
