My daughter has high anxiety and was diagnosed with selective mutism - which means she will not…read moretalk or even gesture to anyone that she is not comfortable with. We have been trying for years to get her to go to our regular family dentist and the most she would do is sit in the chair. I did a google search for a pediatric dentist that specializes in children with special needs and anxiety and Playtime Pediatrics came up as highly rated. Well they deserve that rating and higher! My daughter was able to go through an entire checkup, cleaning and even x-rays in her first visit. From the moment we entered the clinic, everything was relaxed and easy. Our hygienist Katelyn was so patient, positive and encouraging. She explained everything to my daughter and made her (and me) feel so at ease. Dr. Raylin was just as great and explained all our options for treating some cavities. We are beyond happy to have found Playtime Pediatrics!

Playtime pediatrics is located next to Morgan crossing. There is ample parking although the spots…read morecan be a bit tight. Inside is a beautiful bright waiting area with a TV and toys. Staff at front desk seem very friendly. This was a first time visit for my child and he can be shy and not great in medical settings. The assistant greeted us at the front and we were able to bring toys to the back. They like to take pics and weigh patients but my son wasn't into it so they weren't pushy. They spend time talking about dental habits and had lots of toys and stuffed animals to pretend to clean teeth. There's a TV and lots of books and toys. Definitely very patient staff! Dr. Ella Choi comes in at the end and is super friendly. We as parents assisted with the check up for assessing the mouth. It was quick enough that it didn't seem traumatic for my son. At the end, kids get to go to the toy chest for a treasure. It seemed like a positive enough experience that we booked for a follow up check up in 6 months time for my toddler.

I have been using this dentist for my children for over six years and every time they do not…read moredisappoint. They're very caring. I don't understand these other yelp reviews because it's totally off from what is the truth. If you have healthy kids, they ( primary care ) usually eats up the cost of whatever's left. They are great business and Jennifer is one of the most informative dentist that I have ever met. She's very caring and professional and all of my children see her and we are low income and they never make us feel like it's about the money in fact, they make us feel like it's more about the kids oral health than anything. I can definitely assure you that this is one of the most incredible places that you can take your children to ensure that they have healthy teeth.

Do not take your child here! They are just about getting your $$. They totally pressure you and…read moremake you feel Iike a horrible parent if you don't opt for dental x-rays for your toddler. When there are no issues and x-rays are known to cause cancer, and you're not comfortable exposing your toddler to them at such a young age when they're not yet necessary, the response to the parent shouldn't be "it's just like being out in the sun for 2 hours". If that's the case then the technician should have a great tan at end of her day in the office. And charging patients a PPE fee? For every visit? Increased costs due to upgraded PPE is not the responsibility of the patients to pay. Other dental offices don't charge this, and the college of Denturists of B.C. said it's an optional charge....but the office manager here will tell you it's needed so they can remain open. WTF? It's an OPTIONAL charge, other dentists aren't charging it and they remained open during Covid but this business wouldn't survive without charging every patient an extra $10 per visit? Ridiculous. It's a tax write off for the business, and nothing but a cash grab. Take your child somewhere where they actually care about their patients and aren't just trying to take your $$.

Monarch is great for kids, I've taken my son since he was 5 and there's something to be said for…read morehaving a good experience. Staff at Port Moody are polite and professional, due to the clinic's smaller size however you really need to book months ahead for prime hours (I.e after school). The prices are also higher, but still competitive when compared to other Pediatric dentistry offices. Overall - we come back every 6 months because it's a positive experience for our son and that's what matters most.

A spacious, super friendly, and entertaining place. I can't imagine anything extra to make this place better (may be bumper cars will make it a full fledge fun fair, but hey it's a dentistry). I swear in our days a pizza shop won't have that much of activities and fun! They have little toys dispensers, 5 computer games, a big fish tank etc, small library etc. I know it might sounds ridiculous but it's an ultimate day out for the kids ha ha! (I'm not that horrible, little bit less). The staff were well trained to deal with kids, very educational and have a very well structured bribing system lol. Every few minutes they give your child a sticker, toothbrush etc. So awesome! And here come the dentist (the scary guy) actually not anymore. He was absolutely nice, gentle and positive (not a bully, like most dentists). He communicated with us (the parent) and my daughter with the same information but in a very intelligent manner! I don't remember his name, but this dentist deserve an award of bring useful, funny and cool :) The only reason I would give this centre a 4.5 stars and not 5 is that when the place is busy (after school hours) you can wait for a long while until your turn comes. But still I'm a super fan! I'm coming here again (as far there is sugar and candy in this world)!
