I rented a gun, borrowed a mask and split a box of paint balls with a friend who is a regular. I started talking with Matt and asking him about his business, and how other business like his work. He shared easily, and explained that he has been doing this for 13 years! He used to get worried when people would start asking questions, but now knows that there is no need to worry about such things. He took care of explaining everything, and only had 3 simple rules. He builds his business on service, and did a fantastic job of making me feel special and valued. I WILL buy a paint ball gun from this business, and already totally trust his advice. A group of us went there as a birthday gift. After the first couple games it was clear the…read moreregulars/pro's/ref's friends were killing us badly every game. Our group all used the rental guns. The ref insisted it was because how much money the regulars spent on their barrels/guns/equipment but they were hitting us from far away and our rental guns would not even come close to reaching them. They swore everyone including the rental guns were all shooting at 250 to 285 fps. Turned out that was a lie, all of the rental guns in our birthday group could barely fire at 220 fps. I insisted they test a regulars gun and he was shooting 310 fps, since 285 fps was the speed limit for the field this was blatant cheating. The ref tried to cover it up with excuses but it was obvious they were just using us noobs as target practice for their own entertainment with no interest in making it fair for us.

It was my first time playing airsoft, and the…read morefrustrations I had were partially with the airsoft community of players being slow/unathletic/taking a long time to rest between games. I was used to playing paintball, which has people running more often and faster turn around between games. Blastcamp has a 15 minute rest time between games, and then they call for the next round to start. Players need to show up when called, not stand around and talk for another 15 minutes. That is not the fault of BlastCamp. The field has good rental rifles, and there was always someone on hand to assist with any issues I had, either on or off the field. I never had to wait to address a concern I had. The refs are safety-focused, professional, and omnipresent. There are a few things that, if changed, would turn my 4 star review into a 5 star review. Consistent rules. Full auto is not allowed, which is fine, but anyone who walks in with an LMG gets to ignore that rule. It really frustrated the game my kids were on. Either full auto is allowed for everyone, or no one. Just because you bring something doesn't mean the rules are ignored for you. Better use of space We had a better time with the Cobra- Black Hawk Down event, where most of the property was used. When we played the pickup game weeks earlier, there were rounds where the spawn locations for both teams were right next to each other. After you cross one bush or building, you were shooting at their spawn. Blastcamp has the space; use it, or everyone is getting spawn camped. There were players creeping up on spawns in the BHD event too, but it wasn't because of a tiny play field. Dud replacement I was frustrated when I bought grenades from the desk, but the one for me was a dud. I did this in front of a ref and he said "yeah, that happens, sorry." If I could get a free replacement when that happened, it would encourage me to buy grenades. As it stands, NO ONE SHOULD BUY GRENADES. The only grenade you should use is a "reusable compressed air grenade". The rule is anyone within a certain distance of it is counted as dead when it goes off. Smoke is illegal to use indoors, which is the only place where it is useful if there is any wind. The management is client focused and helpful. Everyone involved did make every effort to engage us and ensure everyone was having a good time.

Very cool lay out. Big enough and even enough for a 3 team scenario. Cannot say that about a lot of places. Around 90 minutes from Chicago. I played a Mission Masters game and will do it again. It was end of summer and very dry in the Midwest. I have seen a few reviews mentioning the overall attitude of the staff. I can say I saw that a bit. Not with the Ref's. Did not affect game play. Nothing overwhelmingly rude directed at me but a few after event posts mentioned players wanting paint discounts and such. We have all seen these posts. Some big teams ask for it and wont play unless they get it. This was on a weekend where 2 other big games were going on in the Midwest. Small parks tend to cater to their regulars and treat visitors in their manner. It happens. Tone out the noise. It should not be allowed to overshadow the true benefits of the park itself. Bucket list field for big games. The field details: -Field Paint only. First strike allowed game I attended -Forest. Tons of tree cover. HD or clear lens recommended -Forest. Boots only. Tree roots everywhere. -Abundant staging and camping for a 250+ player event. Staging area not too far from parking. Cannot really play from your car though. -Paint prices consistent with big parks. $70 Graffiti available. A plus. -Portable potties in parking lot for players. Paintball fields are easy to find but there seems to be a lack of places willing to let kids and adults play with Airsoft guns. This place was fantastic. They have 5 fields of play plus a huge wooded landscape area if you want to play out in a natural environment. The kids I brought loved it. The regulars were eager to help get my group acquainted with the rules and gameplay. Everyone was more than friendly. The staff was just as accommodating. We needed some supplies (green gas for one) and one of the staff went back to the shop to get it for us. I was really impressed by everyone there. Customers and staff both. If your looking for a great place for either paintball or Airsoft this is the place!

Undead Acres is known for their zombie paintball ride with several scenes and many zombies to…read moreshoot. They also have a walk thru haunt, paintball shooting gallery, food stand, photo ops, bonfire and GOATS! Yep, goats...you can feed 'em. Undead Acres was the third attraction I attended on the last Sunday of September, so when I arrived at closing time it wasn't nearly as busy as I expect it will be later in the season. I was able to look around, but had no real wait to get on the haunted trail. A guide summoned me to follow. I walked alone behind the cloaked figure through several scenes. They didn't tell an overall story as a whole, but individually they were recognizable as the staple haunt scenes including clowns, butchers, monsters and even a young person in a yellow raincoat touting, "You'll float too." The actors made very challenging physical choices for their characters from rapid crawling, falling and more. Their physical strength, flexibility and dedication impressed me. The overall creepiness of the location being outdoors in the open along a trail was effective. I like the use of the guide. Overall, it is a haunted trail with a lot of heart. I did not participate in the paintball experience. If you are in the area, definitely stop by Undead Acres and shoot some zombies.
