I believe, and have believed for years, Roosevelt provides one of the best educational experiences…read morein the district. It gives the kid a place to belong. The reason for the low score of Three stars is the professionalism of a few teaches. They don't appear to be welcoming to all parents. When greeted with a smile and a cheerful, "good morning" the teacher's response is a sneer and a grunt without even looking up. I'm fairly confident it is not with all parents, because I have heard great things about Mrs. Wimer and Mrs. May and they do put on a good show but not real. They preach "Be kind" but they are anything but kind and in my experience they just grunt. Just a bit cliquish for my taste.

I used to go here. It was terrible. They have a slogan of kindness and being kind when in reality…read moreall the teachers are rude and the staff is cold and in favor of teachers all the time. For example, ms Tina. She is a duty that is around kids all the time. She is not a role model and I'm pretty sure she hates kids. She has screamed at kids for no reason at all. 1 time a kindergartener threw snow ( they had a ridiculous rule that forbid throwing snow) she got mad and he tried to explain himself. She told him to shut up and go sit in the corner. HORRIBLE ROLEMODEL. Another story is when I was in 5th grade I had ms mills as a teacher. She is retired now. But when she was my teacher the class was being loud as 5th graders do and instead of telling is to be quite or clapping or something. She started screaming, "SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP, YOUR BEING A BUNCH OF LITTLE IDIOTS!!!". And to make matters worse. There was no punishment to her. Not even a slap on the wrist. And I know a lot of other teachers like that but I don't want to make this story an hour long. Long story short don't send your kids here. Just don't. Horrible teachers, horrible staff, horrible school. Don't even get me started on the principal. Ms severson. She is a very Mormon women who dress codes everyone. For anything. DONT PUT YOUR KIDS IN THIS SCHOOL EVER!!!!!!

Additionally, the new Principal has done a fantastic job of fostering school spirit and a sense of community. We are excited about the years to come and feel confident we've made the right choice for our child's education.

They work cooperatively to provide the best education to each student in every grade. The parish is incredibly supportive of the school. You can sense a true partnership between the school and the parish. Parents are welcomed to be engaged in their child's education and the school. Parents are encouraged to attend daily prayer and Mass each week with the children. The students are challenged differently as they progress from Pre-K to 8th grade. St. Mary's students primarily head to Bishop Kelly, where they have a strong reputation of being academically prepared as well as being some of the most welcoming and kind students around. I strongly encourage you to check out St. Mary's incredible community.

We were so excited that my daughter was able to get her little 5K boy into Sage. It works so well…read morefor their schedules and even offers extended-day for working parents. This keeps them from having to send in the am to a daycare, have him transported to school, picked up by the daycare at school and transported back. E-Sage has been fun for him and he has learned so much from their programs. We have liked both his 5k and his 1st grade teachers and he is happy and learning. Couldn't ask for more. I also like the top stop of the classroom sizes.

Sage High School is an authorized IB (International Baccalaureate Program) World School and offers…read morethe IB Diploma Program (DP). I originally became interested in Sage because my daughter left 6th grade at Christine Donnell School of the Arts (a charter school in Meridian Joint District 2) and entered Lake Hazel Middle School as a 7th grader. Lake Hazel is so overcrowded that I felt that the curriculum wasn't being taught very efficiently - my daughter wasn't being challenged. In addition to that issue, the overcrowding was obnoxious to the point of severe frustration and anger. (But that's a whole different review). So, Sage attracted my attention because of the small class sizes and challenging curriculum. It has been wonderful! Sage is a school where a student can really push his or herself. My daughter is in 8th grade, but most of her classes are combined with 9th graders, and she's in 10th grade advance math. Not to brag, but it's nice to have the option of moving ahead if you're smart enough. By staying challenged and pushing herself, I know that she's not getting into trouble. In addition, Sage doesn't have a gym. instead they go out into the community for Urban PE. The also don't have a library, but instead take walking field trips as often as needed to the city library (conveniently located in their neighborhood). This has helped my somewhat shy daughter become more comfortable in an urban (yes, I know it's not Seattle or LA) environment. I did take off one star because they don't offer traditional sports programs. My daughter plays soccer and runs cross country, but Sage doesn't get out until after 4pm (they have longer hours, but then no school on Friday's). Because of their longer hours, my daughter can't even participate in sports at another school - she can't get there early enough for practices or games/meets. There are work arounds of course. She has been able to play soccer in a community league and Sage has implemented a lunch time running club. I also took off a star because Sage only offers French. I feel like the reality is that we live in a country where a huge percentage of the population speaks Spanish and it should at least be an option. The work around has been to take Spanish during school hours with the IDLA system. It's not ideal. She is an advanced Spanish student and was forced to take beginning Spanish this year, as you have to start IDLA at the beginning, but at least its something. Sage also has an Elementary/Middle school. It's at a different location, on Parkcenter Blvd. They just opened the new campus this years, having taken over the old Parkcenter Mall location.

The students are constantly disrespectful and the teachers rarely do anything more than hand out a worksheet and do nothing to help the rest of the class, resulting in immature and unintelligent students. The one thing I regret about the place is not going there sooner. It was definitely intimidating at first, but it didn't take long for me to fall in love with the place. Growing up it was talked up as the mega-druggy school- and of course there were some kids there that had done/ were doing drugs, but compared to the school I had attended before South, South is squeaky clean. In my opinion, the staff was great. I only ever had problems with two adults there. But above that, and much more importantly, I met some teachers that will probably forever be in my book of the greatest and most influential people I have ever met. My friends and I are constantly reminiscing on the great times we had there.
