We didn't try out the other amenities of those library, as we had a lot of studying to do. Color tinted windows brighten up the gloomiest and rainiest of days. Artsy geometric themes line the walls, ceilings, and furniture. Whatever your reason for visiting, the interior provides an abundant amount of space for it. More importantly than aesthetics, this library goes above and beyond in the resources it provides. It has passport services, computers, printers, study spaces, and books, similar to most libraries. What most libraries don't have though? Video recording studios, podcast rooms, and sound engineering booths. All fully equipped with instruments, all soundproof, and all FREE. OF. CHARGE. I absolutely love seeing this available. It provides people a creative outlet and a chance to feel heard. Other available gadgets include 3D printers, Cricut machines, and premium media editing software. C.J. and several other employees are at your service if you ever need a tutorial. According to the American Enterprise Institute, library visits have decreased by roughly 31% since 2000. I wouldn't have been able to tell based on my visit today. I saw plenty of parents, kids, and students lost in their own worlds. Free third spaces (locations other than work and home) have become increasingly rare; turns out that if you build a pretty library that's valuable to all, the community will come. I can't emphasize enough how cool this library is. It's a rare sight of tax dollars being utilized incredibly effectively. This isn't some privileged resource in River Oaks or Memorial Village; it's located in the unassuming suburbs of Westbury just outside of I-610. You'll leave this library impressed one way or the other. See for yourself.

The study room itself is somewhat outdated but still serviceable. However, I did encounter what felt like an undercurrent of bias from one of the librarians. While using the study room, something about my appearance - perhaps the combination of my skin color and my casual attire of shorts and an oversized sweater - seemed to trigger a prejudiced reaction. It's possible the librarian didn't realize or care that my 'starving artist' look was actually the result of my hectic life as a med student cramming for exams. A word of advice for fellow people of color considering a visit: you might find it beneficial to dress in a more conventional, 'soccer mom' style to sidestep any potential judgment.

During my most recent visit I stopped in to pick up my Summer Reading Color Our World prizes! I stopped by two information desks and eventually they informed me that I needed to go upstairs. Once I made it to that desk, the ladies were helpful. I'll be sure to take a picture of my rewards for the Grown Ups Reading Challenge. I received water bottles, sticky notes/flags/pens, drawstring bag, and pen pouches. Defintely worth stopping by and joining the reading challenge! If I'm in the area this is a library I'd return to.

There's plenty of seating inside. Computers were also available to use for up to four consecutive hours once I obtained a library card and number to sign in. If you need to charge your phones or electronic devices, there are plenty of outlets available. There's first come first serve study rooms for those that do require more concentration. For a person who loves reading books for learning and for pleasure, this place was great. I haven't combed through a physical book in a long time, since we have pdfs and Kindle apps on our iPhones. But, this library was refreshing. They even have manga books translated to English. Here, you can borrow any book from and return it to any fort bend county library in 21 days. That's awesome. In addition, they have study rooms here and computers for kids to play games on. On their website, FBC libraries also have book clubs you can attend or reserve new books that are released to borrow. Not sure how long it takes for anyone to actually get a new book, though. Plus, it's relatively quiet here, so I feel extremely productive when I'm here to do any sort of work. My regret is that I didn't find this spot sooner. They're even open on Saturdays if you need to work on some things. Logistics-wise, this library is actually located within the UH-SL campus. When you enter, the library is on your left side. Just follow the signs for library parking. Since I went during post-Hurricane Beryl, the gate lever was open to the parking lot. However, during normal business hours, you need to take a ticket before entering the lot and validate your parking ticket with the library staff before you leave the library parking lot. Overall, I will be coming back here again when I need some quiet time or work done.

Plus, the staff are friendly and helpful. There are so many books (duh,), learning games for toddlers, and computers with so much educational games. If you have a toddler and a school-aged kid, you'll like it here. Your toddler can play with the toys while you can guide your scholar with some learning games/activities. There are 6 study rooms you can use for up to 2 hours at a time. It's a first come, first serve basis and you'll need your library card or ID to get a room. I personally like this especially when we start working on his workbook. This gives us space and freedom discussing (we talk a bit loud sometimes). Definitely recommend this place.

They have a number you can call and someone brings the books out to you or you can go inside and pick them up from the hold section. I chose to go inside. I didnt know where I placed my library cards but the clerk was able to help me. She even renewed my cards and checked me out. Another branch was the only branch to have it. I've enjoyed visiting various branches and since getting my library card. This library is really nice! Spacious and clean. There's ample seating with pods, open tables, private meeting/study rooms, and a lovely balcony area with more seating. There's an elevator as well- accessible. My initial visit was during the holidays so there was lots of decor. Librarians/Library staff were friendly and helpful. When I'm in the area, I'll definitely return!

There the libraries are open 10 am to 9 pm 5 days a week and by the way they don't charge their citizens for driving on highways. Anyway I give 3 stars to the Eldridge branch because the fiction collection is so blah. Full sets of James Patterson, Joan Collins, Danielle Steele and not much of literary, classics, diverse, prize winning books. The great writers of classics are represented with only one novel each, of their not so popular ones.

I love a great library…read more The Robinson Westchase Neighborhood Library is truly a gem! Needed to get a book for my Newcomb Alumnae Association Book Club. It was available at the Robinson Westchase Library, so I made the trip to pick up my book. The library is a treasure. Open and airy, it just invites you in to check out books. Lots of shared parking spaces. The librarian pulled my book to the front desk. Walk across the bridge to Camden Park. This urban park is so nice. Worth it to cross the bridge and have a walk or sit on a swing.
