Black Moshannon State Park and its 250 acre lake is an often overlooked Pennsylvania State Park…read more In addition to all of the trails and wetlands it also offers a campground and rental cabins. For those that hold family gatherings or other large grope picnics it also has numerous picnic areas that can be rented. We, until recently, lived only a short distance from the Park. Today we went for a ride and came to the Park to relax and decided to have a dish on Ice Cream. I choose Mint Chip and my wife had Black Raspberry. We sat on the porch and enjoyed our food as well as the beauty of the park. If you have not visited Black Moshannon Park you should give if a try. You will enjoy the beauty and tranquility.

Black Moshannon State Park is the place for people like me, and I reckon I'll return if I ever get the chance to meet Phillips Burg and decide to live in his town one day. The campsites, while basic, did the job with ease. I've never had a better s'more in my life in those fire pits. The falling acorns, however, made me have several Sir Isaac Newton moments and even gave my camping tent a concussion. It was nuts, but I slept like a dead dog every night. The 20 miles of hiking trails are excellent, and the bathhouse was suprisingly clean. I'll be back once I figure out what I'm doing with my life. The end.

There's a million KoAs out there, but this is definitely one of the better ones! There's a pool and…read moresplash pad making this a family friendly spot. The bicycle course (sign your waiver please) is huge, and there's a fishing pond. This rural spot is a great layover or a great destination. The camp store has cold drinks, frozen treats, and some groceries, but no beer/wine, so bring your own. The landscaping is lovely with huge sunflowers around the pool. On the weekends it looks like this campground has a snack shack. The bathrooms and picnic tables aren't exactly new, but the bathrooms were clean, and the staff were friendly. Yes you hear the highway at night, but yes, that means close proximity to getting on your way. Also at night, in the summer, was a gorgeous concert of fireflies. All around, this campground was a great escape.

We had a great fire pit area. The front porch had Adirondack chairs and a table. There was also a small grill on the porch. The cabin was clean and cozy. It had a bunk room and a queen size bed for sleeping. There was a small kitchen and a full bathroom. The fridge was bigger than a micro fridge and there was a microwave. There was plenty of restaurants to eat at in Bellefonte and the people in town were so nice as we spent the day exploring it. Bald Eagle State park is a few minutes away and definitely worth a visit. I'd definitely recommend this to anyone as the tent sites and Rv sites were amazing as well from what I saw.
