Forrest Appliance Repair is top notch. Any time I have called them they do there best to get to me as soon as possible. The technician, Chris is superb. I have had him do two different repairs for me and he does a great job and is very kind and friendly. I will request him from now on. read more

I contacted Forrest Appliance Repair after our washer returned an error code that indicated an issue with the drain. Consequently, the door would not unlock. I have basic handyman skills and the Internet. After some research, I discovered that the design of our washer made it difficult to reach what was almost certainly the problem: a plugged filter. I would have to remove the front face. The problem now was that we have a stackable washer and dryer located in a tight space. In order to remove the front face of the washer, I would have to take down the dryer. This would require two people with some brawn. After determining the model and asking some preliminary questions regarding what was wrong with the washing machine, Forrest Appliance Repair quickly scheduled an appointment. When Brandon the tech showed up, he discovered what I already knew: the repair is a two person job. The Forrest Appliance Repair phone representative never asked if the machines were stacked and I forgot to mention that fact on the initial call. After a call to his office, Brandon informed me that we would need to reschedule--and that he would still have to charge me for the visit and that I would be charged again for the return visit. That did not seem quite right, but I couldn't deny that I should have informed the office that the washer and dryer were stacked. On the other hand, Forrest should have included that question in the preliminary assessment. I was preparing to argue that I should only pay half the original charge when a thought dawned on me: Why couldn't I be the second man on the job? Brandon was game and, with my help, the dryer was soon off to the side and the repair completed. I would use Forrest again and I would probably request Brandon who was both competent and professional. But I would also be sure to let the company know that our machines are stacked and I recommend that you do so as well if you have the same set up. read more

Chris was a pleasure to meet. He diagnosed my problem and gave me suggestions to avoid these problems in the future. He figured out that most of the problem was operator error. He explained in great detail what I needed to do to avoid these problems in the future. I am very impressed by this young man. He understood that we are senior citizens and aren't used to washing machines with so many different selections. I would highly recommend Forrest Appliance Repair. read more

I had a great experience with this company. I had a dishwasher issue and a dryer seal that needed to be replaced. They came out and quickly let me know it was my electrical outlet and not my dishwasher so that was a quick fix for me and then they ordered the dryer seal and got it in as soon as it arrived. The technician even took some time to go over washer and dryer maintenance with me since he had the same units at home. Prices were fair and they were able to take CC payment right in my home. Would highly recommend. read more

Forrest Appliance just completed a much needed (before Thanksgiving) oven repair for us. They were wonderful. They kept us updated on the part arrival and got us scheduled asap. Just be Warned: I got Scammed by Forrest Appliance Repair in Grass Valley After paying almost $700, and getting the run around for almost 7 weeks, I still have a fridge that doesn't work. I even stuck with them after a No Show appointment (because I had already waited 3 weeks for a part to be ordered). But the worst part is that today the owner yelled at me, said they don't like working on my model of my fridge, then said "I'm going to just wish you good luck" and the HUNG UP on me! Do NOT use this company. read more

We own a Bertazzoni Oven that needed recent replacement of a failed oven thermocouple and worn door hinges. Factory OEM Repair parts came from Bertazzoni in Italy. Our initial service call with Tom was paid following a thorough onsite oven inspection of the existing oven problem(s) followed by a written email estimate of fixed costs for OEM parts, installation labor and future phone call follow-up, if we wanted to proceed. We decided to proceed and confirmed the estimate in writing. We were not disappointed. We were contacted frequently by Ariel in the Office on repair status and all repairs were completed on time,as promised with no add on surprise costs. This is a good reliable appliance repair company that services multiple counties in the Motherlode area. Don't wait for repair-call them to fix your equipment. They want to help you and retain your business. read more

Requested warranty service for my Samsung oven, which was operating quite loudly. Forrest scheduled a visit (to my home in Reno), and Chris actually called a few days early. Conducted himself professionally and communicated clearly. After running sensible diagnostic/triage tests, he replaced the cooling fan - which Forrest had pre-ordered based on my description of the issue (how refreshing!). I'm quite happy with this experience, and can recommend Forrest without any reservations. read more

Paid $135 for a tech to come into my home for less than 3 minutes. Didn't try to "problem solve" or run any diagnostic test on my stove. Looked at it and said he already knew what was wrong before coming into my home. I did all the diagnostic for him. Then they turn around and take almost a week to get back to me for a quote to fix it, which is almost $650! Add to it, they said they could "give me a discount at their old rate" aka take off $20. If I would have done it, I would have ended up paying almost $800! Im buying a new stove instead. Really disappointed in my experience. read more

10/10 recommend. I was assigned Forrest TV & Appliance Repair by Samsung, for a microwave repair. The appointment was scheduled very quickly, the repairman was on time and the follow up was impeccable. I was probably being rather needy, but they replied to my emails really quickly and were very polite. I didn't pick them as my service provider, but they've definitely earned my business next time. Kudos to the entire team and thanks for being such a great company! :) read more

One of the most atrocious customer service. The service technician was phenomenal. He came and diagnosed the issue. Then tried to schedule a follow up appointment to actually get the new parts installed for my dryer, And got the run around. Spoke to Sarah, who supposedly is a supervisor, who told me that she has to go pick up her daughter and couldn't talk to me to discuss my concerns of not being able to set up an appointment in the future. She basically told me to go somewhere else. Why does square trade/Allstate use this company to begin with? read more

Unfortunately, I have had a poor experience with Forrest. They sent a technician out to evaluate my refrigerator who admitted to not having his diagnostic equipment with him because he left it at the office or some such reason. Despite this, they send me a diagnosis requiring a new control board for my refrigerator. Due to the $600 repair estimate, I sourced an original OEM board on my own and installed it (super simple) myself which saved me over $400 and made the repair economically sensible. This did not fix things. So I called Forrest again to request they send a technician out who was actually prepared to fully and properly diagnose my refrigerator with all the needed diagnostic equipment. They refused on the basis that I had sourced and replaced the board myself. Part of me understands this but the other part of me is disappointed that they would not own their responsibility to provide a comprehensive diagnosis that I paid for yet did not receive during the first visit. Too bad. I'll be sure and let the company that referred me (Hills Flat Lumber) know that this happened this way. read more

I purchased a Speed Queen washer and dryer six years ago, being single I don't do a lot of laundry and during the summer I like to hang my clothes on the line outside. About five months ago my dryer quit working. Forrest Appliance repair is the only local repair shop who works on Speed Queen. The customer service representative was extremely helpful explaining the possible problem from what I heard when trying to start the dryer. She went over the cost breakdown along with the pros and cons of a repair. There was no pressure just things to consider. I ended up having a repairman evaluate my dryer who was amazing in the since he was able to troubleshoot the problem within minutes, then took his time reviewing my options. I highly recommend Forrest Appliance Repair! read more

I normally don't leave reviews of this nature, but I am so appalled by the poor service that I believe it needs to be shared to warn others. I wish that I could even report the quality of their service, but I didn't make it that far. First off, there was such difficultly scheduling for a dryer repair at all. I tried to call to schedule initially, and didn't even get a call-back after several attempts. My landlord was finally able to make contact for me to schedule, though they never confirmed that the appointment was even happening with him - he had to call them the day of when I asked about it. I had to step out for an emergency and another tenant was going to be home shortly after. I called them as a courtesy. I received aggressive, unwarranted, and unprofessional service on the phone. I was berated on the phone by the supervisor, she interrupted me, called me by the wrong name, and she purposefully accused and accosted me for trying to make a courtesy call. She didn't even give me the option to reschedule and she hung up on me. I didn't swear or say anything to deserve such poor treatment. I'm disgusted. I hope that they can repair appliances well, but the customer service is extremely lacking. No one deserves to be abused on the phone like that over a simple phone call. read more

Update after company response: 09/09/2024 I did not say I can not make my appointment I told him I have to pick up kids and if he could come in 30 mins he was still up the hill in grass valley he said no he won't be able to wait. I did not put you guys on my calendar true but after rescheduling my appointment numerous times because one time you didn't have the part on the truck which he came all way to my house look at the fridge and tell me that, secondly when your guy called out 15 mins before my appointment time and they called and said we have to reschedule. So please ma'am be considerate the one time I had no one else to get my kids since I am a single mom and have lost money for staying here waiting for repairs. I'm not a lier I own my mistakes!.....This is a horrible company bad service can't figure out what the problem after 4 attempts to my house and does not call back when a message is left. They don't pick up the phone. Ariel who is the scheduler closed my ticket after months of going back and fourth and now I have to start all over again with an another company. Bad customer service and communication. read more

They sent out a technician to replace a compressor on a wine fridge. He did not check to see that the parts were the same/compatible until AFTER he cut the lines and let the refrigerant (Freon) out into the air and did not trap it in anything to use or dispose of later. After all that happened, he then opened the box for the replacement part and said "uh oh" - it was the wrong part - incompatible with the fridge. Now not only do we not have a semi working fridge, we have something we are having to dispose of ourselves. When I called to ask for Forrest to replace the wine fridge so we have something, they left me on hold for over 10 minutes - obviously neglecting to replace it or provide any financial amount to cover any costs for us to do so ourselves. They wouldn't even come pick it up to dispose of it and now we are left with a non working wine fridge and the cost to dispose of it ourselves. It's like taking a car in to get the transmission replaced - taking the transmission out before checking to make sure everything is compatible/correct, and then saying "oops" it's the wrong part and those parts aren't made anymore for that model car, so - sorry , you're SOL and now you can't even drive your car that WAS working. I will never pay for a home warranty again nor will I refer Forrest for any repairs after this. And in response to Forrest's reply - Yes, things were escalated yet resolved - I don't have to get into details, but there were other contractors who were there that can vouch for what happened - and the repair person and I were on the same page with how things started, and how they ended and for that I am thankful and he deserves kudos for things as well. So for that, we are good. I won't even go into how I didn't mention or request repair for the floors that were scratched from the moving of the fridge in and out...but at this point I can only go back and forth for so long. Best of luck to them as well. read more

When I called the lady who answered the phone was rude, disrespectful ,when I mentioned I need an afternoon appt. since I work late nights. She replied thats the only time available, I said could you please find another day, she barked NO!! I couldn't believe my ears. So I responded I'll call back my home warranty and let them know you aren't flexible with others that work late nights, and need sleep, am appts would not work with my schedule!! My home warranty charges your card before they arrive, and the company got paid, until I went back and forth making complaints that this technician never came by. I have an iron gate without the Gate code no-one can get through. I never scheduled an appt. It took over 4 months and my home warranty finally reimbursed my card. This company is not very trust worthy, I would never use them again, nor should anyone trust their integrity, honesty, after what they tired to pull!! I hope the owners read this review and Take it seriously to remove that scheduler since she has no mannerism, and very rude which turns customer away, which eventually ruins business. I have a huge following on instagram and I will be sure to spread the word. When you have very little time that last thing I need in my life is to have this unforeseen stressful circumstance to deal with!! Thank you, read more

Terrible service and staff. It took them weeks to finally come out and when they did the problem with my brand new just out of the box Samsung refrigerator was not fixed that same afternoon when I checked it. When I called back that day, they said it would take another 3 weeks before they could come out again. Then they called me and left a message saying that the problem with my brand new just out of the box refrigerator was that my floor is unlevel, even though he did not check to know whether or not it's level... so I did, and it's perfectly level. Bad service, lack of knowledge AND dishonest. Not a good combination. read more

When out 40" Samsung TV suddenly would not link up to our Internet wifi modem to connect us to Netflix, Prime, Hulu etc, I called Forrest TV in Grass Valley. They were nice, sent a top technician who said we needed a new TV. Our set was 11yrs old. He said " the motherboard was no good & a new one was more than a new TV. Go buy a new TV. " What that good technician - FAILED TO SUGGEST was that I could hardwire my TV set to the modem and still receive the wifi U-verse high-speed at&t internet connection. The Forrest TV tech never brought inside the house, any tools other than his Samsung hand remote. He NEVER checked voltages, signal strength, connectivity or what ever else TV tech do these days to fix broken electronics. I went to the so called experts first. I worked 40yrs as a telco tech, so I hard-wired the TV myself from the modem. Their Top Rated best TV tech should give better advise & service by suggesting alternatives, Forrest TV DID NOT ! I would not consider their customer service as trained well. Customers deserve better. Go buy a new one IS NOT BETTER SERVICE when a simple alternative could work ! ! ! When I asked for a refund, I didn't even get a sorry we couldn't help you ~ ~ ~ I would have been very happy IF, & would have given a much better review. But the owner Did Not Even offer half a refund - - because their top tech NEVER suggested a way to make this set work by simply adding some wire & 2 connectors. He was in the room less than 10minutes to diagnose & gave us the bad news. Our TV set works fine today. It links up to the high-speed U-verse even 5 months later as I finally write this sad review. If I could only give a Half Star, I would. I gave them 5 months before I wrote this . read more

Theres nothing better than conducting business with honest, competent, and friendly repair and office personnel! This is exactly what you'll receive when you have the pleasure of working with Forrest TV & Appliance Repair...hands down a five star business that cares about their customers. Three years ago we remodeled our kitchen and made the unfortunate choice of purchasing a new refrigerator that was defective (lemon) which required 4 service visits before we ultimately received credit towards a new refrigerator. Our new refrigerator would never have been possible without the help and support of this business's helpful employees, specifically Sarah (office manager) and Gene (lead service technician). Our refrigerators defective design, and subsequent repairs (4 fridge repairs and 3 other unrelated service appointments), gave me the distinct ability to accurately assess their appliance repair company. Gene, Sarah, and their office staff's willingness to go above and beyond made this frustrating time bearable and I was ultimately able to remedy my issues with the manufacturer. Forrest TV & Appliance Repair technicians are friendly and punctual, pricing is comparative to others in the area, but the biggest standout this company possesses is their knowledge and superb customer service which separates them from the rest. Gene's expertise in repairs, coupled with Sarah's wonderful disposition and phenomenal customer relations skills only adds to her willingness to do whatever it takes to help the customer. I highly recommend Forrest TV & Appliance Repair for your appliance repair needs and have added their business into my contact list for future appliance repair needs. read more
