They have very lovely jewelry in their cases including some sea glass work. There's a second floor that has a great Mickey collection and other works of art upstairs. It's one of the first galleries on the street as you head down Bay St. from the Coast Guard station. And if this all seems a little fishy to you don't take my word for it. Go check it out for yourself.

I really enjoyed the large crystals and fossils, this place is just fun to check out even if you are not buying.

Newport is over-filled with art galleries, but after seeing the rest, I thought Ozone was the best. Rather than follow the local trend of having a little bit of everything (glass, paintings, wood carvings, metal sculpture and jewelry), Ozone is a contemporary gallery that features only a few local artists at a time. So depending on whether you like the artists du jour, will affect your enjoyment of the gallery. But, they also offer free wine tasting. So even if you don't decide to purchase, you can browse through the gallery and enjoy the view of Newport Bay. I absolutely hit it off with Karen and ended up purchasing three different pieces of art. It was for a space in my home I've been trying to fill for over three years. If you purchase more than one piece, there is a 'collector's discount' and we had a funny discussion about how it is sad for a gallery owner, and the artist, to see some pieces sold. I assured her that it was going to someone who would love the art and she requested that I send her a photo of my purchases in their new environment. So feel free to wander through the other galleries for your beach tchotchkes, but if you want to experience some innovative artists and sip a little wine, then don't forget to visit Ozone.

First he has us look through the shop and select the patterns and colors we each liked. Then he works either each person individually, getting an understanding of our vision and explaining the overall process. He explains each step and talks you through it, constantly reassuring, complimenting, even celebrating how you do. He keeps checking our understanding or gently "correcting" by saying things like "great job with that, now this time, try to..." And as you move through the process, he is there every minute, every moment, every step of the way, and making sure he is helping us make our vision in glass! With each of our visions different, the pieces we made were unique. I wanted the bits of color to remain a bit of texture (like a piece I'd found in the shop), with an open hole in the ball for filling with agates, and a clear "window" for seeing the rocks inside. Jeff was amenable to leaving the open hole (which I plan to plug with a large cork) and the "clear window" worked! It was a special family activity and an experience we're sure to remember. Of course we've got the glass bowls and balls in case we need a reminder! Sure the glass molding and blowing was fun, but honestly, I can't imagine a better instructor and coach than what we experienced with Jeff!!!! Highly recommend it!!!

My partner and I were walking around the store with about 8 other patrons and we noticed that three different customers tried to interact with the owner (?), a man who was searching on his phone the whole time. Two ladies were trying to talk to him about the store pup, while another guy was trying to make chit-chat and both either received a few grumbles or an inaudible response. He didn't ever look up from his phone. This type of service bums us out and we decided to return our handfuls of specimens that we carefully picked out while walking through their well-stocked store.
