we frequently stop off at the forge on our way back home when we have been to Carmarthen or further to have a meal, and we have found it in the past to be a very tasty and fairly priced meal.
but on a recent visit this was not to be.
we were the only ones in having food, which in the past there has always been others eating.
the food WAS freshly cooked BUT the fish my husband ordered was grey and full of bones, the 8oz gammon I ordered had an inch of fat round it, grizzle running through it and one part of the meat did not taste all that good, I had to spit it out onto the plate.
the staff could have been a bit more polite,
the elderly woman that collected our plates was quite rude, she asked was the food ok, my husband said " well we have had better from you in the past " he said this politely.
she swiped the plates up and just walked off into the kitchen and saying to the blonde woman who was sitting in the window " what is wrong with people today, THEY have just moaned about their meal ".
I could go on and on about the rudeness of the staff and then others ( chefs ) coming out from what could have been the kitchen to have a look at us, but we know one thing for sure we will not call in there again
we could have kicked up a big fuss and refused to pay but my husband paid politely, and we then didn't even get a thank you for paying AS we did not get an apology for not having a good meal., and this was quite pricey. read more
