Don't recommend. Trusted Jeff because he appears to be well educated and up to speed on farrier knowledge for horses with issues. I have a club footed horse he convinced me he could help correct/get the club foot in better shape. His club foot was never even worked on or balanced except for a few rasps each visit (honestly all my horses only got a few rasps each time). He left so much dead sole on my senior gelding he was blowing an abscess every month during the winter. I fired him in spring of 2024. This winter not a single abscess despite the mud and snowy/wet conditions similar to last winter. And before you come and complain about my mare who needed sedation for trims being "under your ability"-yes we know she needed sedation I was upfront with you and we had a long discussion when I hired you. I never hid that she isn't good for her trims and did everything in my power to make it safe for her to get trimmed. Despite that you still couldn't properly trim her and she was walking around on overgrown stilts. Also he has no general horsemanship. Knowing my mare who is a rescue was scared he would continue to be obnoxiously loud and boisterous around her which only worked her up more, he also always aggressively went for her worst feet first instead of starting with her easier to handle feet. She now gets her front feet worked on with no sedation and we are working on the hind feet as well with only oral sedation. He also is known for attacking past clients on Facebook and other social media platforms. See pics below of my old gelding and mare before/after when we got a new farrier who came to trim him 2 weeks after Jeff had. Also see the comments where he attacked me on Facebook for sharing my experience using him-there was no slander just facts about my experience with him that I provided. He's also no longer apart of the iapf-he was kicked from them after having multiple complaints filed against him but still uses the letters with his name to advertise. If you wanna pay too much money for an absolute hack farrier then this is your guy. read more
