However, from the start Ali made me feel at ease with his kindness, transparency, and professionalism. He made sure that I was informed about the process, certified he understood exactly my desired outcome, showed me a catalogue of color options, and broke down the cost for the treatment, all of which made me feel very comfortable and gave me a sense of trust. One knows an expert when they encounter one, and Ali struck me as exactly that before I even knew he has been doing this for 20 years! My hair is dark brown, thick, and long, so we knew the process would be long and laborious. I asked him for blonde highlights and ombre look, so we did a strand test before to make sure my hair would lift well, which it did. He proceeded to spend more than two hours patiently applying foils on very fine strands of hair, which was to ensure the result would be well blended and natural-looking. I greatly appreciated the fact that he not once rushed through it. You could tell he's a perfectionist, which is exactly what one wants from a colorist. Between bleaching, washes, toner, cut and styling he spent a total of 6 hours on my hair, and the result was perfection. In addition to his sensational work, his personality and temperament were things that stood out to me. He was very patient, attentive, and fun to talk to. Plus the prices are extremely reasonable for high quality work. And they did not have an easy task at hand. I needed hair and makeup for myself + 9 BM + MOB makeup + MOG makeup, with a start time of 6 AM and a finish time of 9:30 AM. And they delivered! First, for the trial - I wanted to time this at the same time as my engagement shoot. Risky, I know - in case it didn't turn out how I imagined but luckily, it did. I had to move it a couple times due to Covid or other scheduling reasons but they were very accommodating/flexible. It was just one less thing to be stressed out about. By the time I had my trial, I had already booked my date in them way in advance, so this wasn't an issue for me. On the day of the wedding, I was a little late to the venue because of car issues (of course that would happen to me the day of my wedding), so I probably got there at around 6:15, and the team was already finishing setting everything up. Linda did my hair, and Norma did my makeup. Denise and Gloria were the other two hair/MUA for the BMs. Both my hair and makeup held up, well after the wedding was over. For my hair, I wanted Hollywood-esque waves, and Linda pretty much nailed it. It looked exactly like the picture I showed her. My makeup was great too, though I wasn't as picky with the makeup as I was with the hair - I just wanted something wedding natural but not too muted, and with a hint of a fall look (if you are a bride, you will understand exactly what I'm talking about lol).
