This record shop is also a spirituality shop and sells crystals, natural remedies, teas, and tinctures. The owner of the shop, Mike, opened Buddha Belly Records in January 2024. The records, both new and used, are carefully curated, organized, and fairly priced. Great selection of jazz, soul, rock, and everything in between - there's something for everyone here. I could easily spend hours digging here, but with my wife waiting in the car - I had 30 minutes to dig. Dig through the "New Arrivals" section and you will find a ton of gems - I saw a few Japanese pressings in there. The inventory here is priced to move - if you see something you like, I would jump on it before someone else does. There's a lounge in the back where the shop also hosts tarot card reading classes. Suffolk County residents are truly blessed to have a record store of this caliber in Sayville. (hey - this is my 100th Yelp review! )

Consistently they mark things on sale and then they ring up on the register at a higher price... and they'll fight with you whether to honor the price on their own sign! He was busy, but he's still supposed to be watching the counter since he's alone. I stood at the counter for 5 minutes, I said excuse me, I said hello. Still ignored. I dropped $40 worth of DVDs (used) in a bin. It was pretty loud. And still this employee didn't turn around or bat an eye. Well, you lost a sale today and I will not be shopping in this store again as long as this employee is working. Just rude!

There is something really cool about meandering around and discovering new books through their colorful, interesting covers. Some just call out "read me"... While B&N is nowhere near as cool as The Strand, and never quite as cozy as once was Borders (rest in peace), it certainly is organized well, clean, bright and inviting. There weren't a lot of other customers around when we were there this evening, so it was pretty quiet and relaxed. My husband and I enjoyed strolling the store, checking out the books we randomly came across. We also enjoyed the cafe where we sat and had coffee and split a dessert. It was a nice place to spend a chilly evening after dinner for a bit. We reminisced about how we used to take our daughter to the bookstore all the time when she was small... remember those days? If you need to go to a local bookstore and pick up something to read, you really don't have much choice anymore... so it's good to know Barnes and Nobles is well kept and pleasant.
