This is an interesting pub as it is Community owned & run. You can still buy shares in the pub if you have a spare £500.
The landlord & landlady had only moved in 2 days prior to my visit. I have only eaten here so am unable to comment on the quality of the rooms.
After being told I could have a table at 7.30pm but then they back tracked after an hour or so, saying they were very busy and short staffed. V frustrating. However, they did eventually squeeze us in.
The landlady was very attentive, ensuring we had everything we needed. I had whitebait to start and thoroughly enjoyed it. To follow I had scampi, chips and a portion of sweet corn & peas. I didn't really enjoy the meal...too dry and too fried.
There was plenty of selection at the bar: a couple of decent real ales to try. read more
