We attended a funeral here for a family member with a cemetery plot nearby. Several employees were…read morewaiting by the parking lot entrance when we arrived, asked if we were going to the cemetery and then put a funeral flag on our car and assigned us a parking spot. This location has two parking lots, right and left of the building, with a drive between the two lots around back. The front entrance is up a few steps. The rear entrance is at ground level and wheelchair accessible. The guest book for our funeral was located near the back door. Two large rooms are available for viewing, one on either side of the central hallway. These can each be divided into smaller rooms as needed. The interior is older and shows some wear. Tha facility is clean and the expected items like tissues, comfortable seats, pedestals for flowers and a lecturn for the pastor were all available. Everything was managed beautifully and the staff took care of details. The immediate family are very happy with their experience.

The funds were held in escrow with my name and Mr. Breslin's. I was pleasantly surprised when Mr. Breslin emailed me and said I would be receiving a refund of $260.00! He explained that the pandemic type services were far less costly than traditional wake/funeral mass etc. He also explained how the cost of everything in his industry has escalated! But $260.00 will help with the cost of engraving my moms name on her tombstone. That was last May. I have called once a week since, and emailed more often. Mr. Breslin refuses to acknowledge my communications and has yet to send the check! I am filing in small claims court tomorrow. He will loose, I have his email acknowledging the refund due. And he will cover all court fees. In his business I expect compassion, integrity, and adult communication skills.

From our very first meeting, it was clear that Leo is deeply dedicated to his work. He told us that he only has one opportunity to do things right, and he truly lived up to that promise. Leo was compassionate, honest, and transparent throughout the entire process. He never attempted to upsell us or pressure us into unnecessary purchases. Instead, he asked about our budget and helped us find ways to stay within it. He even mentioned that we could purchase certain items elsewhere, though he often offered better prices himself. His integrity and empathy were evident in every interaction. Leo provided his personal cell phone number and responded promptly to every question or concern we had. Because my father's passing was unexpected, he first had to go through the medical examiner. During that time, Leo kept us updated regularly and contacted me immediately once my father arrived at the funeral home. We felt confident that my father was being cared for with the utmost respect and dignity. The wake and funeral services were beautifully arranged. Since my father was a Navy veteran, Leo ensured that he received full military honors. When the two representatives performing the flag ceremony did not fold the flag correctly, Leo personally offered to have it redone properly and delivered it to my mother's home a few days later -- a gesture that meant a great deal to our family. At the cemetery, a miscommunication caused confusion regarding the burial plot. While the issue was ultimately with the cemetery, Leo went above and beyond once again, offering to bring my father back to the funeral home until everything was resolved. His concern and advocacy stood in stark contrast to the cemetery's suggestion to "leave the vault out overnight." Ultimately, the cemetery resolved the issue by removing a tree that was in the way -- something we thought would take months -- but thanks to Leo's persistence, it was completed within a week. I cannot thank Leo and the staff at Gately Funeral Home enough for their compassion, professionalism, and attention to detail. They treated our family with kindness and my father with the respect he deserved. I wholeheartedly recommend Gately Funeral Home to anyone in need of funeral services. You were not supposed to have certain things out, but we have noticed within the past six months that the people with the ground headstones put whatever They want out including glass flags (which my grandfather who is in Pearl Harbor, his American flag gets taken every time we put it up) we went today on Mother's Day and there were people having a full blown block party with a barbecue and music. I understand this certain types of celebration of life, but there is a time in place in a cemetery is not the place.
