Evil people who sell dump slapped together, propane leaking junk and cover it up after the information is documented but they lower the price don't fix it and allow you to put your families and pets into a literal death trap. To allow people to to drive away in something that knowingly has propane leaking for over a week after calls and calls and dropping it back and forth dang well knowing what is wrong but choosing to cover it up is evil. The threats they give you if you don't buy a 4,000 warranty is insane. These people need to in prison and company gone. The workers / mechanics even will tell you these are slapped together cheaply and fast. Nobody even takes the time to do proper checks inspections before they sell it at a ridiculous price to families. I couldn't be more pleased with the service I received at this location from Jason!! My decision was 2 years in the making and he stuck by me the whole way. Always helpful, always knowledgeable. Showed me as many trailers as I wanted to see and explained the differences between each one... in the end I landed on the trailer that is SO perfect for me! From start to finish the experience was great. The gentleman in financing was amazing.. and the service techs were all great as well. I was given a very thorough run down on the trailer... how to use it and all of its features. All of my questions were answered promptly and thoroughly. Not only do they try to charge for work you never agreed to, but then tell you they have a recording where you agreed to the work. No signed paperwork, just a phone recording which they refuse to play or produce a copy of. My husband tried calling about prices on an ice house we were interested in purchasing. They told him they were unable to give out prices over the phone and he would have to come in. Fine. When he got there he found out the reason he had to come in person was because every time they got someone in the door, the employee got $100. While he was trying to go over pricing there was a lady who kept asking if his wife (me) knew he was there. He kept telling her I was home sick and he didn't want to bother me since this is something we have been discussing for a long time. She then proceeded to tell him he needed to go to the store and get flowers and ask for forgiveness for the fact he was there without me. It was very unprofessional and made my husband very uncomfortable. It is not a sales person job to try and counsel someone else's relationship when they know nothing about a person. Forest River of Hugo should honor sales deals as written and signed for. Purchased travel trailer at end of April 2025 from the 14k+ price we negotiated. We came up with a 13k out the door price which the sales mgr and I initialed. price. A week or so later when we went to pickup went through showing of trailer by service tech . Then when we went to see financial. They closed up camper while we were seeing financial person. Financial person did not recognize the price negotiated as that total was not what the rest of agreement added up to. We still purchased at the 14k plus as we really wanted this trailer. Took trailer home and parked it. Weekend before Memorial Day we went to setup trailer at our home. When deploying slide out. We discovered that upper seal tore apart. Contacted dealer to see about repair hoping we could negotiate a price on charges. Was told trailer was sold as is and there was nothing they would do to help per service tech. Make sure that everything is working and do not trust them without seeing everything operating correctly before signing final contract and paying for purchase. BUYERS BEWARE! We had a horrible experience here and it had even gotten worse once we started making our payments after our purchase. I financed through Forest River which uses M&T Bank. I had our original interest rate which was fine, but was not told by camping world about the DAILY INTEREST RATE on top of what we are already paying. Which will end up costing us THOUSANDS more than originally planned. Definitely not worth it! This was our first camper purchase and we were excited but this overshadows everything and I just wish we never stepped foot into Forest River. Very bad experience and I would NEVER recommend anyone purchasing a camper here. Look elsewhere. This was very sneaky to do and I now hate this POS place and POS people who we worked with. Terrible service experience! I took my RV to Camping World for a repair under insurance because they are a Good Sam approved provider. The service advisor, Miranda, charged me prices higher than what Camping World had negotiated with the insurance company. After several calls by the insurance company, and two weeks later, the negotiated pricing was finally honored. Miranda stated to me via email that the delay was due to the insurance company attempting to find a cheaper item. I could go on as there are several more examples of dishonesty and delays, and without a doubt this is the worst customer experience I have had in years. I recommend you stay away and find another service provider for your RV or Camper. read more

If I could give them zero stars I would! We had now two very bad experiences with Camping World. Why we even went a second time I'll never know. We bought an RV King mattress recently assuming it would fit our king bed area in our Vengeance Rouge. Nope way too big. We're RV newbies. We had no clue how many different sized mattresses there are for RVs. None. Well, we're SOL cuz they refuse to take it back as it's now out of the box. Nowhere was it posted that mattress sales are final. Never once did the eager salesman suggest we take measurements or, are you sure it's an RV King? Nope. We are done. We purchased a fish house from Camping World last year and added the Good Sam roadside assistance package when purchasing the fish house. Last weekend we had an issue where the brakes seized up. We called Camping World for help as we realized the Good Sam roadside assistance was NO HELP, and Camping World was even less of any help. They were unwilling to send out a mechanic due to the location the fish house was, which was only an hour away from their Little Falls location. I am extremely upset with their customer service and will never buy another fish house from them again. read more

Yikes! Really run the other way. We wanted to get an estimate for some renovation for our camper van. We should have known when we were told it would take days to get an estimate and cost $159 an hour. They told us they contracted out auto body work. Well our estimate ended up costing more than $250 2 weeks later. We went and picked up our van because we could not get any one to talk with us about what could be done. They charged us $177 to tell us again they could not do auto body work, plus another approx. $80 to complete the estimate. We were going to have the interior work done but could not talk to anyone, our calls kept getting put off. Really run the other way. When we went to pick it up, they were on the phone with another dissatisfied customer. read more

I want to like this place but they have done me dirty.... the sales dept. people were great overall but then I got home and that's when things were found wrong. 1st I was told that the level/emergency lift handle would be found and put on board...that never happened. 2nd never washed or serviced, 3rd The solar was and is messed up-first the solar charger was not working, I pulled the charger from the wall and the wires were not attached to the solar charger, so I hooked them up and got an error code of no battery power, I think the fuse was blown and is blown I have to find it, also the inverter switch does not work, I told my sales person and was given a good sam tech number, the tech. said they had a photo from March showing the solar charger was working thus somebody fooled around with it. there was also work done to the water lines under the sink without disclosing that there was an issue. now I am getting no calls returned to me they were sure returning my calls when they were selling the unit to me. I feel once you have the camper you are nobody anymore to them. Also the quick connect gas line was there when I looked at the unit but was gone when I looked for it after I got home, and no griddle that was supposed to come with the camera when it was brand new, and missing the JVC flip 5 as well. The gas griddle and the flip were not such big things but the solar was, I know I brought it as is, but really WTF. No wonder it was so cheap. buyer beware of this dealership. I thought I was getting a good deal, but no I did not. They hid these issues from me, and now no contact with me, and no calls returned. It is one of the worst customer service companies I've ever been a part of. They damaged my camper while it was being serviced, then had the audacity to try to put it on me. They have had it now for almost a month with no service updates on the repairs they caused. Not one manager will contact me on the issue. Have called cooperate several times trying to get answers, and these people won't even respond to the cooperate office. If I could give advice to anyone, It would be to shop somewhere not affiliated with Camping World. It is the worst purchase I have ever made in my life. Update: took the camper out this weekend 7 days after it was in at camping world for service and diagnostic. After picking it up I parked it and never even unhitched because we were going somewhere the next weekend. I did notice the battery was getting weak when i picked it up. So yesterday i checked (i forgot to charge it) and of course it was dead. We only use it for our hitch. So i had to buy a new one. I am thinking... ok its a 3 years old. While my neighbor helped me put it in he asked is anything on in the trailer because it was sparking. No, I say because we do not have it turned on in the trailer. Well i get in to start loading my ATV and notice the Hot water heater is on. Camping World left it turned on and left the power on from the battery. I turn everything off hope for the best and off to my campground 3 hours away. Hook up and sure enough my entire hot water heater has blew up. Water pouring out of the side of the trailer, refrigerator that they said is working fine not working and I am looking at thousands in repairs. Not to mention the stress and anxiety i am now under the gas, food and camping expenses i am out and my one vacation is over. Thank you James in Service for nothing. I will be contacting cooperate over this and expecting this to be fixed. Unbelievable! read more

Over at 2 week time period. I understand people are short staff- but if I were to call to buy one I am sure they would jump all over it. I am just upset, this could be a simple fix, not even a return call to set up an appointment or walk me through the issue. We purchased our first travel trailer from Coates RV in Hugo, MN! The service was amazing, such a friendly staff. There was no pressure to purchase anything! The indoor selection was in a heated show room with coffee/hot coco! The inventory outside was outstanding and plentiful! We defiantly refer our family and friends! Thank you Coates for helping us create many great family memories to come!! read more

I was a happy customer walking out the door, but they've since squandered my goodwill by wrongly claiming that I owe them $300, even after I've paid them nearly $10,000 for various products and services. I won't be returning. I purchased a used Trail-Lite 7250 in early May 2020. My tow vehicle needed some work, including wiring and a weight distro hitch, and the service department gave me a quote and performed the work. The work was added to the total that I financed. Service also gave me a starter kit, which included hoses, wheel chocks, and other assorted items. Two months later, in mid-July, I had changed tow vehicles. I needed the weight distro hitch adjusted, but lacked the tools and knowledge to do this myself, so I took it back. They performed the work, which was fine. But at the same time, I was informed that I owed an outstanding balance for the "gold package" -- $300! This was news to me. I learned that the starter kit was $300... a kit I though I'd thought I'd already paid for. I told them I had no idea it was so much for some hoses and surge protectors. Service said "well, the price is clearly marked in our store." We walked out to the store to see no price listed anywhere. Not clearly marked at all. So, I went back to Steve, my salesperson, on July 23. He was standing in his boss's office. I explained to them both that I was being asked to pay for something that I was given in May, at which time there was no mention of a $300 price tag. Steve said he'd clear it up; he agreed I owed nothing for the "gold package," and he said not worry about this. Today, September 3, I just got a call from service asking me to pay them the $300 I owe them. For the love of god, you people can have your lousy garden hoses back. I will not pay you $300 four months after the point of sale. Be cautious. Camping World of Hugo, in my experience, communicates its service charges poorly, then may claim you owe them hundreds well after the hands are shaken and the deal is done. read more

We traded in our RV for a 2020 model. They were willing to deal a bit and the salesman Steven was very helpful with a no pressure approach. When we decided ultimately to buy it, we financed a portion through their office where we found Shelly to be helpful and informative in making the transaction smooth and done quickly. When we went to pick it up, Dan was very helpful and stayed with us for about an hour just answering questions and showing us how things operated. Even after we took it off the lot, he was helpful as I called several times for answers to questions I did not ask at our orientation. I had warranty work done for a water leak. They fixed the leak but not the water damage. After months of calling and nothing being done, I got a response saying we're sorry the shop manager is no longer with us. And my record of my trailer is in the old computer system. They had to upgrade the computer system to join gander RV to be a dealer for them. They finally found me in the old computer system to find out what happened or I should say what did not happen even know they had pictures on file of the water damage. Long story short the owner gave me $100 gift card. read more

John K. I purchased a new salem vista trailer from Coats in May, Delivery was negotiated as part of the deal. The trailer was delivered to my site in N.Wis by a third party service. The sliding 7ft screen door was hanging on three of the four rollers, I put the door back on track but then noticed two dents in the door frame. I then decided to use the automatic awning, when I heard a real bad screaching sound, I stepped out the door and looked at the far end of the awning, and the support arm is extremely bent. I contacted coats because the trailer is under warranty. It's been a month and a half and I'm still getting the run-around. I've sent them pictures of the damage twice, but they claim they need more. They said they need a picture of a missing pin. I had to explain that if the pin is MISSING I can't get a picture of it. Half of the summers is over and I still haven't been able to enjoy my $30,000.00 trailer. All I want is the parts to fix it myself, I don't need or want a service call. The warranty is a joke, good luck getting any repairs or replacement parts, or even a return phone call. read more

At the orientation I was disregarded as the person giving the orientation talked primarily to my male companion. My companion repeatedly stated that he was not the buyer. I found this whole encounter quite offensive. Now, I am trying to get some warranty work done. I have contacted the service department three times and nothing has been done to resolve my six issues. Rain water continues to come into my shower every time it rains. I would highly recommend that you not purchase from Coats RV, especially if you are an elderly widow. read more

Horrible customer service once you buy one of their campers. All they want to do is take your money and not warranty the product for any issues or repairs required. We purchased late last season and contacted both the manufacturer and Coates to repair and/or replace our issues. All we got was the run around; the season ended and still nothing. We were promised repairs, etc would be taken care of as soon as our camper was open for season. We contacted them back in April and waited for a date a tech would be on site. Now we're still in a holding pattern with no communication from them. Stay away from this company if you expect any customer service from them. I will be contacting the BBB as well. read more

Josh sold us a camper in August that was full of water damage. This was a temporary buy until we found a house. We had our camper inspected by another dealership when it came time to sell. That dealership told us the camper was full of water damage and it was very obvious that it was there when we purchased it. In order to sell our camper for close to the price we bout it for we would have to invest thousands of dollars to fix this damage. This damage was there when we bought it. There were soft spots in the floor that we were told over and over were just "the design" by Josh. He lied to us. This was water damage and it was not disclosed when we purchased the camper. When I talked to the manager & Josh about the situation I was lied to over and over and belittled. Please do not buy a camper from this dealership. They are more worried about making money than finding you your dream camper. read more

Purchased a high end Yetti (21' fully loaded) from Coates RV center, in Columbus/Hugo location, the end of March 2019. While using the kitchen sink for the first time, I discovered there was a small pin hole leak. If you don't mind having the front of your shirt sprayed while using the faucet - I guess there would not be a problem. When I told the service Dept at Coates about the problem the nightmare began! I was told that a replacement faucet could take a couple of weeks to get resolved based on the terrible service that Yetti provides. It turns out that Coates RV is where the problem actually lays! Service Dept tells me to purchase a faucet from their Parts Dept and hang onto my receipt so they can reimburse my charge card once everything has been approved by Yetti. Original faucet was not available so I purchased the only one that was available the next day. After about 1 month of playing phone tag I stopped in to speak with the Service Dept about what was going on. When I explained what I was told to do, I was told that the service Dept employee was "wrong" to have said purchase a new one and we will reimburse you. When the Service Mgr came out, based on my request, I once again explained my situation and he said "I agree with you" and will check to see what the original faucet costs and credit that amount to your card. I showed him the receipt and he said he still needed to check and that the credit would appear in about 2 days. A credit of $ 24.99 appeared on my card but; unfortunately, the price I paid for the faucet via "their" parts Dept was $ 179.95. Ouch!!!!! My opinion - horrible customer service, just want to make the big sale and you are on your own after that. The good news - I live about 2 miles from the manufacturer located in St Croix Falls, WI so I stopped by to share my experience with them in regards their wonderful dealership in Columbus/Hugo. They were horrified!! Yes, I feel better and recommend purchasing a Yetti ( they are beautiful) from a dealership who truly cares about the customer and not the all mighty dollar!! read more

When we bought the camper we were told six weeks but it was more like eleven weeks, not good if you planned a trip for six. When it got in they called to schedule an appointment to do a walk thru and to take delivery. I took off work early to make their time slot work. When I got there the walk thru went good, showing you what things are, how they work and such until they came to the point of showing me the AC. It was not there. We were told they would get it put on ASAP. Four days later we finally got our camper home. We got it home and set it up so we could pack it for the weekend trip. That's when we noticed that there was a roof leak, two of the sides were not installed properly and the battery box was not even secured. So we took it back again. We did however get it the day before our trip. Once we find another dealer to do warranty work we will not be going back to Coates. After talking with some other people and friends, we have not heard many good things about Coates. Our next camper purchase will be with someone other than Coates. read more
