I even got an earlier time, a few days before, which was great because it's only light out until about 6:15PM. My brother and I were thrilled to play another Seth Raynor design, and Francis Byrne did not disappoint. The course was in great shape, greens were running about an 11 on the stimp, and the leaves were in the midst of changing to their autumn tones. The Pro Shop staff was friendly and the starter went out of his way to explain the course to us, before we made our way to the first tee. We were teamed up with 2 guys in a cart. Luckily, one of them had played the course before, so his knowledge was much appreciated. On a whole, it was a great day. Definitely worth the $65.00 (18 Walking). My only gripe is that there needs to be a Ranger to patrol the course. After about the 12th hole, the course got severely backed up, and we were waiting on every shot. The three-some in front of us couldn't take it anymore by hole 16, and they jumped to a different hole on the front. There was a point where we did not think we'd finish before dark....but we did !

I've spent Easters, Christmases, 4th of July parties (complete with fireworks!), father-daughter dances, and many more holidays and events end events here. I attended the summer camp, where we got instructions in arts and crafts, tennis, swimming, golf, and a lovely canned female provided upstairs. The memories created by the staff -- whether in the restaurant or out in the sports areas -- created memories that I will cherish forever. The community is also wonderful, and if you join, you'll make many friendships that will last a lifetime. One advantage MGC has is two golf courses, so you can try 54 different holes among the two clubs. Dad's the second longest running member at RSGC, when he read that MGC was having a free wine tasting, we were in! The wine tasting area was set up on the outside patio, thankfully with a generous overhang-because this was the Friday night a few weeks ago when we had the unreal thunderstorm that lasted hours. Even so, we managed to try a wide variety of wines, generous pours, no limits. Terrific! Off we went inside for dinner, and my 'retro' wedge salad was somewhat modified and updated. The complimentary olive, celery stalk, radish, and sliced cucumber tray was pure 'retro'! I followed with swordfish which was tasty. Around the table were two veal chops and a petite filet. The two veal chops were both said to be the best anyone has ever had, and the petite filet was really good, according to my girlfriend. One thing-these are steakhouse prices, the 10oz filet was $47-and like a steakhouse, everything is ala carte-sides are extra. We had lyonnaise potatoes and they were tasty, hot, and salty. Our waiter was friendly and very helpful. So solid four starts-and the setting is worth five!

The food was delicious (I was a fan of the steak) and the waitstaff were so pleasant and loving. They were clearly invested in my family and our guests having a good time and I even caught one of them getting choked up during the ceremony! It was so sweet! I love a staff that isn't afraid to be present. Once again, service with a smile makes me so happy! Our time in the bridal suite was wonderful. It had everything we needed whether we knew it or not! Safety pins? Check! (those came in handy for my dress). Tums? Check! (Came in handy when a cousin felt ill). Hairspray, tic-tacs, baby powder... someone here was clearly a girl scout and learned to always come prepared! Oh and the Team Bride glasses were a big hit. Set the night off on the right foot and kept everyone laughing and smiling, especially the bride who was too distracted by the fun she was having to get nervous. Everything went according to plan. No one had to ask when the bride and groom wanted something, or how something should go. The team here had a plan, they made sure everyone knew it, and they executed it perfectly. I noticed and was very grateful that they did so because it left everyone else to enjoy the night. I'm always amazed when a wedding sorta just happens. Like, one minute there are empty chairs and an aisle and then boom there are guests in those seats and a pastor and tada music is playing and oh there's a bride walking down the aisle! When the ceremony just sorta happens as it's supposed to, without drama or fanfare, that's the sign of an extremely professional and well run staff. Not only was this a beautiful location, but they are well versed in weddings and clearly enjoy celebrating with bride and groom and their family and friends.

It is mostly covered with sands which seems like hitting balls over to the huge bunkers or desert. It is not a deal breaker though. Will be my favorite driving range.

Arrive to beautiful upstairs club dining room overlooking the magnificent rolling hills tree lined golf club. Two practice putting areas were fast and True. Staff was friendly and helpful. Downstairs grill room has seen better days as the locker room also should get a bit of a makeover with it's 1970's showers. This does not detract from a 5 star golf facility with meticulously manicured tee boxes, fairways, sand traps and greens. Outside cocktail area overlooking the course after the round was the final treat as you certainly have to go a long ways towards topping the golfing portion of this wonderful facility. Tennis courts and pool looked really nice but I didn't not get to partake. All and all a fabulous golf experience.
