The Need for Accountability: Addressing Spiritual Abuse, Gaslighting, and Favoritism at The Prayer Room Missions Base (TPRDFW)
The prayer movement in America has long been a beacon of hope and spiritual renewal for many. However, there are growing concerns about the underlying practices within some of the largest prayer ministries, including The Prayer Room Missions Base (TPRDFW) in Arlington, Texas, under the leadership of the Hundalls. These concerns have only deepened in the wake of a troubling exchange regarding allegations of spiritual abuse, gaslighting, and favoritism within their ministry, practices that are not only harmful to individuals but are preventing necessary reforms in the broader prayer community.
Recently, I hosted a retreat for House of Prayer leaders, and it became painfully evident that the prayer movement, despite its powerful spiritual mission, is failing to address these significant issues. As leaders gathered to discuss the direction of their ministries, the lack of plans for accountability and the refusal to deal with spiritual abuse surfaced as one of the most pressing challenges.
A Disturbing Statement: "We Will Do Nothing"
One of the most shocking revelations regarding the lack of accountability within TPRDFW came when Luke Frendenburg, a key figure within the ministry, made a formal statement saying, "We will do nothing." This statement was made after I presented criminal evidence online, along with reasonable and required evidence by law, that demonstrates the necessity for TPRDFW to start an internal ethics investigation into their practices, especially with respect to spiritual abuse and favoritism.
This response is not only deeply troubling but also illegal. According to nonprofit laws, when criminal evidence is presented, organizations are required to conduct internal investigations to ensure compliance and protect the welfare of their members and the public. By refusing to take action, TPRDFW is not only ignoring its legal obligations but also perpetuating a harmful culture of silence and unchecked power within the ministry.
This refusal to investigate has had a direct impact on my ability to serve others, especially in life-saving efforts such as providing aid to orphans. For hundreds, even thousands of orphans, the resources and support they could have received were derailed as a direct result of this negligence. The lack of accountability and the gaslighting tactics employed by the leadership at TPRDFW have created an environment where spiritual and practical work that could have saved lives is undermined, ignored, and dismissed.
The Hundalls and the Whistleblown Allegations
A significant part of the growing concerns within The Prayer Room Missions Base and similar prayer movements are the actions of the Hundalls, whose leadership and involvement have been the subject of whistleblowing from former members and staff. These whistleblowers have come forward with serious allegations regarding the Hundalls' leadership, including financial mismanagement, manipulation, and exploitation of individuals within the prayer movement. These behaviors range from the misuse of funds to the coercion of volunteers and staff to work excessive hours without appropriate compensation.
The whistleblowers have described an environment where questions about leadership practices were met with hostility, and where dissent was not tolerated. It is reported that members were pressured into silence and loyalty, with threats of spiritual condemnation used as a tactic to enforce compliance. The failure to address these issues within the ministry has only contributed to the perpetuation of spiritual abuse, where leaders are not held accountable for their actions.
Confirmed Allegations Backed by Evidence
What is most concerning is that, despite these serious allegations and the significant harm caused, there has been no effort by the Hundalls or The Prayer Room Missions Base to publicly acknowledge these concerns or implement necessary reforms. This lack of accountability is not only harmful to those who have been directly affected but also undermines the integrity of the broader prayer movement.
The allegations are confirmed by online evidence posted nearly a year ago, which includes criminal activity and statements from three property managers who have spoken out about their experiences. These individuals have provided firsthand accounts of mismanagement, coercion, and unethical practices that point to a deeply ingrained culture of abuse within the organization. Despite this overwhelming evidence, TPRDFW continues to refuse any meaningful investigation or reform.
Brad Stroup's Connection to Mike Bickle and the Broader Context
To further complicate the situation, it's important to note that Brad Stroup, a key leader within TPRDFW, has long been close friends with Mike Bickle, the founder of the International House of Prayer (IHOPKC). This relations read more
