36 bucks for malort. 15 dollars more expensive than retail. Has it always been this expensive?

Needed a specialty liquor could not find elsewhere. Owner was able to get it in stock next day, reasonably priced.

I had no idea that Foremost was a chain until I just did a search here on Yelp to write a review. I liked the idea that this was a small independent shop. Oh well. Towards the end of our Evanston-dwelling period during and after college, my friends and I discovered Foremost, just across the Wilmette border. We kicked ourselves for missing it all that time, because the prices were slightly better than EV1 (Evanston First) and there were fewer taxes in Wilmette. I still stop here every so often because it's on my route home from work. However, their selection isn't the greatest. I can't find any good scotches here except for ones that I've already tried. I'll probably never beat Binny's for scotch selection. Beer is a similar problem. I'm often looking for a specific (but not uncommon) microbrew or import, but usually they don't have it. And how about some more Goose Island guys? It's local. The staff is friendly though, always chatting with the regulars and cracking bad jokes based on bits of small talk. read more

Be careful when you hand them your money. I gave the clerk a twenty and she immediately put it in the drawer and proceeded to give me change for a ten. I told her I gave her a twenty and she did not give me the balance of my change. The manager came over and said that if they were over at the end of the day, they would send me a ten. I told him that the clerk is supposed to put the tendered amount on the register's tender tray to avoid just this kind of problem, and that I should not be shorted because of their poor training and procedures. I will never shop at the store again and I advise caution to any who do. Of course I never got my proper change. No surprise there. read more

Charged me $32 for an 8 pack of high noon. This costs $19.99 everywhere else. Didn't tell me the price when "ringing me up". I had to ask for a receipt to see what he charged me. I went back in and asked what the price was for one (I bought 2 so was charged over $64 total with no line items). He said "$32. High noon is expensive!" I said "it's $20 everywhere else". He didn't respond so I walked out and will not be returning. read more

guy charged me $40 per bottle for goose island bramble, which is about $15 above what I've seen any other liquor store sell it for. pretty much robbed me. i just wanted a bottle of reserve and ended up spending $143 (was forced to buy 2 other goose ba bottles with it). Didn't realize how much I'd been charged until I got home. goose island should not be distributing to this business. i would strongly advise to anyone looking for goose island bottles that you look elsewhere. read more

They have liquor and they sell it, that I will admit however... I called to ask the price on a wine. I was told they had it and the employee left the phone to check the price. Five minutes went by. I thought maybe he had forgotten so I called back. A different person answered the phone - again I asked the same question. This person said they were too busy to check the price. Ok, fair enough. But I live a few blocks away so I walked over. Busy? There wasn't a single customer in the store. Apparently they don't want to give prices over the phone - so just say so! Just your usual neighborhood booze store. It's definitely got some character with it's printed signs circa 1960's and winding aisles of bric-a-brac. Decent prices for the North Shore and no attitude here. If you have a friend who's a raging alcoholic and has a birthday coming up, there's lots of cheap flasks, cocktail shakers and glassware and such to buy. Ah, Foremost. Here is the basics on this place. The beer selection is all the fridge. That's good by me. The prices are very reasonable for everything, beer (both tasty & swill), wine, and liquor, the whole thing. That's good too. The place is a bit dumpy, and it's biggest pitfall is that it always closes before everything else, it seems. And that makes it an afterthought whenever you are with people looking to buy drinks for the night. It's easily forgettable. read more

This place has recently lowered its prices on beer and now has some decent deals. I would call their beer prices slightly lower than Jewel next door but unlike Jewel you don't have to screw around trying to find parking, and you don't have to wait in line behind a lady buying enough food to feed an army. read more

I have lived in Wilmette for 30 years, and after the last 2 trips to this store, twice in 2 years, I will no longer support this business. I come in once a year, because i know they will have Goose Island Bourbon County beer. And they always do, even after release day, its just sitting on the counter. Why? Because in order to buy, say, a bottle of this years 2018 Prop, or Reserve, you have to buy a minimum of 6 other bottle of Goose Island bourbon barrel beer to be "eligible" to buy the prop. And, at the quoted price of $25 a bottle for the Midnight Orange version, that would be$150 purchase, to be "allowed" to buy reserve or prop. They did this last year too, but last year, you had to buy regular in order to buy barley-wine, and you had to buy both of those to be able to by the coffee variant, and so on... Two visits in 2 years, and you have gotten none of my money. it's going to stay that way. read more

This store has been here for years. Nestled in the North Shore it sits righ on Green Bay Rd. Now with that being said, if you are looking for a Bennys experience, you have come to the wrong entity. They have pretty much every thing you would need (not sure about Kegs). To reiterate the only bad thing about the place, other then cleanliness, is the attitude of the Asian cashier. There are actually two of them, and one of them is really nice, but the other guy is very cold. There is a another liquor store due west on Old Orchard Road and Crawford. read more

They have a good wine selection. The price is unbeatble to the Schaefer and the selection is very good. They don't have much wide selcetion like Binny, but I like the choice of the foremost 's. One time, I got a matching price of Binny. May be you can try too !!! read more
