I am currently on month 4/7 of Accutane with Forefront Dermatology (Vienna) and have had a positive experience so far. The staff are helpful and responsive. I also appreciate how quickly they get me in and out the office every time. They work efficiently and respect their patients' time. The only downside to doing Accutane through this office is that they don't have a phlebotomist on site, so you have to go to Labcorp once a month (who are not efficient or respectful of patients' time). My previous dermatologist did bloodwork in house. If you are considering starting Accutane, you should take this into consideration as two different office visits makes the process even more of a pain than it already is. But that inconvenience is worth it for me considering how great the Forefront team is. Overall, I am very satisfied. read more

I had been a patient at this practice for years and had always planned to continue receiving my care here. Unfortunately, my experience since my previous provider, Dr. Issa, left the practice has been frustrating and disappointing. After Dr. Issa's departure, I went online and scheduled an appointment with nurse practitioner Abigail Shaw. A few days later, my appointment was canceled, and I was text a note that Dr. Issa's former patients were being transferred to another office. I found this strange considering I have been an established patient at this location for years and there are other providers at this location with availability. I tried contacting the office multiple times to understand why I could no longer be seen there, but it seems nearly impossible to actually speak with someone at the Vienna/Tysons office. Calls are routed through a third-party scheduling service that can schedule appointments but is of no help when you have an issue that actually requires speaking with someone at the office. I eventually tried scheduling another appointment with Abigail Shaw, hoping the first cancellation had simply been an administrative issue. This time, my appointment was canceled again 40 minuets before I was supposed to be seen, with essentially the exact same explanation that Dr. Issa's former patients were being transferred elsewhere. What makes this frustrating is that when I look online, Abigail Shaw appears to have abundant appointment availability every day of the week. I cannot understand why an established patient who has received care at this office for years is being turned away and sent to another location simply because their previous provider left, especially when providers at the existing office appear to have plenty of availability. I'm giving two stars because I had been a patient here for years and previously continued coming back for a reason. Unfortunately, the way my care has been handled following my provider's departure, combined with how difficult it is to reach anyone at the actual office, has been extremely disappointing read more

Read the Reviews. Come here at your own risk. Dr. Sarah Taylor is fabulous but unfortunately it will take you 60-90 minutes to be seen by literally anyone. If you are escaping your family and want an excuse for 2 hours of alone time then yes, this is great! If your time is coveted and you have a full time job/responsibilities then literally avoid this place at all costs. I have been a patient here or a couple years and I have finally realized they will never change and its time to find a new practice. Update after response from business: I have emailed Niccole, sent in two forms for feedback and still nothing in response. read more

Horrible front desk service! Inconsiderate and unhelpful. I was speaking and the person hung up the phone

So poorly managed. Great doctors but this place is a goat rodeo. Appointment system is so broken. If lab results get faxed they won't show up in system. It's. It about the patients it's about lining pockets. read more

We visited a month ago and was issued a prescription but here we are a month later and the clinic has not issued prior authorization to the insurance company yet. Very frustrating. Awful experience. read more

Super incompetent. Came in for dermatitis and came out with 3 very expensive prescriptions that aren't covered by insurance and want $85 for one of them from their preferred pharmacy. What a joke! Had to speak to nurses multiple times to get a general prescription for a common issue. Waste of my $50 co pay - go elsewhere. You can see when you walk in they are used to upselling! read more

horrible experience. There is no communication from the staff. after leaving several voicemails and emails with no response my daughter has been told she will need to restart accutane after being on it for 3 months. Staff did nothing to make sure bloodwork was received to be able to process prescription. read more

I have seen Dr. Issa for the very first time. The Doctor and staff were nice on the day of my appointment. It felt rushed, but overall, I was pleased with the service. They prescribed an ointment after a freezing procedure of a small dot on my nose. Later, I got a call from the pharmacy they recommended. To my surprise, the ointment price (co-pay) was US$1,132.00, so I decided to call the office for an alternative or additional explanation. I tried two full days and realized how terrible the experience through a call could be. I completely agree with the comments here (I wish I knew). No manners, unkind, unprofessional, and they hang up on you! Do we really need to keep up with this? As a patient and human being, you should always be respected; they don't seem to make an effort. Seems that they all have the same approach to stay sarcastically silent or just hang up on you. read more

Dr. Sarah Taylor is excellent. I have been seeing her for several years and recommend her highly. She is the basis for my 5-star rating. Unfortunately, two other talented professionals in the Vienna office have left recently. read more

Once you can get someone on the telephone they are helpful. When calling for an estimate it took me 3 tries before my request was addressed. Also, be ready to wait 10 to 15 minutes on hold before you get a person that can help. If your appointment is at the end of the day be prepared to walk around the building; once they lock the front door you are not allowed to exit. Also get aftercare in writing. They expected me to remember an item after they cut in my arm and yes it was an outpatient surgery yet all surgery has a fear factor. Not all details are captured when they are not written down. So I had questions and had to call back and leave a message after I was on hold for several minutes. read more

I love Dr. Taylor. She is the primary reason I have stayed with the practice for the last 4 years. The office/admin staff used to be awful: condescending, uncaring (bordering on seething), and all around unhelpful. I just had my annual appointment and things were definitely improved. Staff was pleasant and medical assistants even gave me the heads up to let me know the schedule was running a bit late. I would recommend giving this office a second chance if you haven't been happy with them in the past. read more

Absolutely avoid this place at all costs. I went here for IDF treatment and it was a complete waste of time and money. They never disclosed that it would take multiple sessions, and they charged an outrageous $400 for ONE tiny spot. The treatment didn't work at all, and when I called about a follow-up they refused to retouch the spot without charging another $400. On top of that, they misquoted me during the consultation, which feels incredibly dishonest. This entire experience felt like a scam. I'm still stuck with the red spot on my face and $400 down the drain. Do yourself a favor and go to a doctor who is honest, transparent, and cares about results not just taking your money. read more

Dr. Sarah Taylor is awesome. Great bedside manner! I enjoy going in to see her. I started with her in 2021. My husband goes as well and he also thinks she is great. read more

This review is for the front office staff. They do not have great bed side manner or kindness and the little bit of kindness that exist seems fake. I know good staff are hard to find but your front desk is impacting your overall brand. You can have great doctors but if the front desk is disorganized, not friendly and clueless. People will likely go somewhere else. read more

Extremely disappointed and frustrated with the unprofessional and uncaring treatment my son has received at this practice. My son suffers from severe eczema and is in desperate need of his highly controlled prescription; Dupixent. Due to your incompetence, we have been unable to obtain a refill for over 3 weeks and he is now suffering through extreme Eczema flare-ups.The lack of empathy and care shown by your staff goes against the very principles of the medical profession. It is unacceptable that my son is suffering because of your negligence and disregard for his well-being. Someone needs to be held accountable for this gross misconduct. This has been the most awful experience I have ever had with a medical practice, and it is clear to me that you should not be practicing in a field where compassion and professionalism are paramount. ***Medical grievance filed for neglect and violation of code of ethics. read more

Unable to get make an appointment online. It took about 30 minutes on the phone to get to a live person then was disconnected

My first experience was a good one. This was a recommended dermatologists I knew they had to be good. The front desk staff is super friendly and helpful with the check in/first time visitor process. The wait time wasn't long at all. Before I knew it the Doc was in my room for the checkup and not long after that I was out the door and off to work! read more

I showed up for my 7am appointment with Dr Missale Mesfin for a Mohs surgery. I was surprised to learn that she was going to cut on my face without knowing exactly where she was to operate. She stated many times that she had the pathology report and the general area but not the exact location. With over a month to prepare, this office did not think it was important to have all of the information needed to perform the procedure. I find this to be very unprofessional and irresponsible. I would not recommend utilizing a medical office that is not prepared and thinks it is ok to cut someone's face on a guess. Unfortunately, the procedure was not performed, and I have to reschedule with another doctor at a better prepared office. read more

Used to see the doctors in this practice before switching insurances. Now I'm back with a great insurance provider and able to return to this wonderful practice. Scheduled with Dr. Millett, as it didn't matter as all I was getting was a full body skin check, which I do ever other year. Have seen Cecelia Ross, the PA and also Dr. Fran Rotter, in the past and both are excellent diagnosticians. Dr. Millett was fine, friendly and quick and verified no changes from previous visits. Asked about a slightly changing mole on my inner thigh, and he looked in more depth but nothing needed to be done and I was comfortable with that answer as I watch it regularly. I printed out most of the forms for a new patient (even though I wasn't truly new) from their website and filled out the last one in the office. Front desk staff is very friendly, warm and helpful. The PA who took me back to the room was friendly and provided me a gown to change into. Within a minute or two, the doctor came in, introduced himself, did the skin check and we were finished. Got dressed and headed out. Very friendly group, very efficient staff, highly recommend. read more

Very little regards to patient's schedule. Booked a same day appointment, just to arrive at the office and be told that I wasn't in the system. "Our scheduler made a mistake," they said, and they were sorry, but could not do anything for me. read more

I have been to this practice twice, and both times had no issues making an appointment. They seem to have plenty of availability and the front desk staff is very friendly. The doctor I've seen has been able to help me quickly, and I feel confident in her abilities for any future issues I may have (which isn't always the case with doctors!) Most medical offices in this area have you wait past your scheduled appointment time by 30 minutes or more. At Forefront, I typically wait around 15 minutes and am able to get in and out within 30-45 minutes, which seems more appropriate to me. The only caveat with this office is parking. What a nightmare! There aren't enough spaces for the number of patients coming to this medical complex. It isn't the fault of this office, of course, but is something to consider in the timing of your appointment. I'll keep coming back to this office as long as I stay in the area as I feel the front desk and doctor are prompt and competent. read more

Price gouging Dermatologist. For a 15 minute skin exam, removal of a couple skin tags, and a biospy of a mole I was charged over $950.00. This is insurance adjusted. I will never go to the Vienna Forefront Office again. read more

I'd scheduled with Dr. Millett last April. It was a waste of money and time. He was insincere. But Forefront pissed me off with billing issue. I paid $189 for my visit on April, and have no idea why I still get this $211 bill!!! Please stop mailing me with SCAM billings! read more

This review is for scheduling/front desk, not my experience with the doctor, who is always very professional. I arrived for my appointment this morning, which was made months in advance, just to be told that my doctor is not in today and I would need to re-schedule. They supposedly tried to reach me but said my line was busy. That is utter bullXXX. I am very responsive to my calls and VMs, but they never bothered to leave a VM -- what does that tell you? They also never bothered to reach me by email (I double checked and they have my correct contact info on file). Their automated system, however, texted and emailed me to confirm the same appointment. The front desk said that "they have nothing to do with the automated system". Really, do you not both work for the same company?! I drove half an hour each way to get there and took time off work, just to be turned away at the door and now I have to wait an extra month for my new appointment. All this on top of their chronic inability to answer the phone on a regular basis, which can be confirmed by others who left reviews before me. Get it together people! You're not the only game in town, so if you want to lose patients, keep up this inconsiderate attitude. read more

Not happy with services and billing. They did not pick up my calls and the explanation provided for the high bill did not feel justified.

Had the worst experience at Forefront Dermatology today. My doctor sent me for a routine skin check and when I called back in August for an appointment, I was told the earliest appt would be December. Went in today and the first strike was the attitude I got when I called to tell them I was running late. The woman said "we're aware of the traffic situation but if you're 15 minutes late you'll have to reschedule". There was a Toys for Tots event across the street that tied up traffic and added 20 minutes to my drive. I made it there with minutes to spare and this should have been a huge red flag - I walked in and no one had a mask on...patients and staff alike. I checked in, gave them my paperwork and a few minutes later they called me to the desk to report that my 4 month old referral...the one I got the DAY I made my appointment..had expired and I needed to reschedule my appointment. No offer to call my doctor to get a new one faxed OR as I've had other doctors do, offer to see me anyway and allow me to provide a post-dated referral afterwards. Or how about REMINDING patients to make sure the referral is still valid before the appointment when you're scheduling that far out. I walked out and called my doctor for a new referral to a different practice. One that respects their patients by requiring masks and offers help when met with red tape. read more

Very unimpressed. At 4:30 pm after offices closed I received a message to log into a portal view results of lab test for possible cancer tumor. I could not decipher results. I called next am asking for return call for results. No return call but later same results appeared in another portal. Later received a call from an unidentified person in office saying that the info appeared in the portal before she received it. She did answer my questions. Maybe she was the nurse practitioner who saw me? read more

My husband and I have been patients for years while it was an independent dermatology practice. Now it looks like the corporation that bought it has fired anyone capable of answering a phone. Today I called to schedule appointments for our annual skin check ups. After seven minutes of being on hold at 9:30 am, I began to feel that my call was NOT very important to them and hung up. We'll give the practice one more try because we like Cecilia Ross so much. But we will drive there to make the appointments. I just hope that there's a real person at the front desk. read more

I recently saw Dr. Kent for the first time. I was impressed by the friendly office staff, and the efficiency of checking in and not having to wait at all before seeing the doctor. Dr. Kent was excellent in providing a thorough skin examinationa and recommending and treating a couple of differnet skin issues. He took time to answer all of my questions (without being overly technical). With my insurance, I paid only the $20 copay. Also appreciated the convenient location near Virginia Square metro station. read more

Be careful if you require a tissue sample to be sent to a pathologist for analysis. Forefront Dermatology has invested in their own pathology centers and use them vs. sending out to an independent lab. Get a quote upfront before you do this. Their pathologist charges are very high!!! read more

I have been going here for 8 months now for Accutane. While my doctor is nice and the receptionists are pleasant people, I always have to wait 45-60 minutes past my scheduled appointment time to be seen. I have a monthly check-up and this has happened every time; whether it's in-person or Telehealth appointment. My appointments only last 3-5 minutes, so waiting that long just for a 5 minute appointment is absurd. Never recommending this place to anyone ever and will never go back post-Accutane treatment. Do not go here if you don't like having your time wasted!!! read more

Very satisfied with this practice. They have early morning appointments which makes it easy to then begin the workday. You don't have to wait a long time to get an appointment. Front desk and nurses are all very friendly. There is little to no wait time when you get there. Have mostly been seeing the physician assistant Cecilia Ross and she has been amazing. She takes her time and explains everything in detail. Although she found a stage 0 melanoma mole in me which was very scary she did her best to put me at ease and answered all of my questions even though I had a lot. I had the surgery with Dr. Mesfin and she was great too. Again answered my questions and had good beside manners. I just started seeing Dr. Issa for hair loss due to the stress of the skin cancer, although it is too early to tell whether the treatment that he put me on works he again had great bedside manner. He took his time explaining the hair cycle and answering my questions. Overall great practice with caring staff. Highly recommend this place!! read more

Two stars are for the receptionists. I've gone to this practice a few times for general dermatology concerns. Wait time averages 30 minutes, way too long for a practice this size. Today I left work early so I could arrive in time to finish my returning patient paperwork. My appt was at 2:30, I arrived at 2:20 and at 3 PM I had enough and let the front desk know that the wait was ridiculous. The lot was virtually empty when I arrived and 3 other patients were waiting when I went inside. Wait times are unacceptable when there are equally if not far better derms in Tysons Corner. The least they an do is tell their patients they are running behind. I left the office without seeing the doctor who was no where near finished her conversation (yes I could hear it) with another patient. Waste of time. read more

After signing in, I sat in the waiting room for a total 35 minutes, 25 minutes past my appointment time, being ignored by the front desk staff until I finally lost my patience and asked for an ETA. At that point I was provided with registration paperwork. 10 minutes afterward, I was called back to an exam room where a very nice medical assistant took down some details. Shortly after, the doctor came in and spent about 5 minutes giving a diagnosis and treatment instructions. Completely ridiculous experience waiting for 45 minutes for a 10-minute appointment, but upgraded my review from 1 star to 2 due to professional and efficient assistant and doctor. read more

From the beginning to end, I was really impressed the Forefront Dermatology. The scheduling and front office staff were patient and nice. Would give no stars if possible because I have no idea what the doctors are like as I was never able to see her. Arrived on time for my appointment and had my forms filled out in advance. Walked into a very packed waiting room. 45 minutes later still sitting there during which time a catered lunch was delivered, a pharmacy rep shows up, and a walk in was seen. I was told it would be at least another 25 minutes which would put me nearly 1 hour 15 minutes past my appointment time. This practice was clearly over booked at least for today. Interestingly I received a phone message, text and e-mail to remind me of my appointment. Yet no courtesy calls to patients to allow us to rearrange our days or save a trip and cancel in advance. I will not return to this practice. read more
