Dr. Condon / Kauffman are A+ droctors...with that said....some idiot has re structured the OFFICE & way to actually contact the place. It is 100% a screwd up operation now. Makes patient interaction a total UNPLEASANT nightmare. I would never use this place IF the dr.s were not so good. What a shame as this used to have the VERY BEST office around. Deceptive billing practices. Told practice was in network. Once billed, insurance said otherwise. Forefront was adamant they were in network. Communicated with Forefront billing including local office numerous time only to get the run around. They insist they will fix things and call back but never do. Will report this to agency that handles fraudulent billing. read more

On several occasions I have been left waiting in the exam room for more than 40 minutes with nothing on except my underwear and a thin piece of paper to cover me. The Room is cold. I asked for a blanket and was not provided with one. The last time this happened it was a 45 minute wait in a very uncomfortable exam chair. It was especially uncomfortable since I had recently had surgery on my lower back. I ordinarily wouldn't complain, but this is a consistent pattern. Try someplace else. read more

I had an appointment with the nurse practitioner for a body check for moles, etc. I thought she was OK, although she froze off a couple benign PK's, the one on my neck left a visible scar! Overall was not impressed with the office staff or the ease of making or changing appointments. I have decided to go elsewhere, I no don't recommend this office. read more

I am consistently impressed with the quality of care and caring attitudes at Forefront. Dr. Sean Condon has been my primary skincare physician and prior to that, Dr. Kaufman, thru several MOHS procedures, over several years. Dr. Condon has the perfect personality for this profession, kind, calm and informative, with excellent procedural skills and perfect (!) cosmetic results. Whatever minor front office issues some reviews mention have long been resolved--everyone I come into contact with over the phone and at the front desk now is professional and friendly, and I generally wait 5-10 minutes to be seen. I used to dread my skin checkups but now can relax knowing any problems are certain to be handled with high standards and empathy. read more

The receptionist in this office (lower level) was so rude and unhelpful. I actually almost walked out without being seen. It was definitely not a warm, friendly or helpful greeting! I made an appointment with this office to address my skicare issues, I had brought my entire skincare products to be reviewed by the Dr so that I could be advised on what I could do better/what might be causing my acne. When I got there the front desk people were quite nice and I waited about 5 minutes to be seen, after I went back into a room I waited a short time for the Dr. When the Dr got there she introduced herself asked me one question and then instantly prescribed 2 medications without asking me if thats what I wanted to do or telling me about the side effects I may experience. I showed her two products I used which she immediately gave back and disregarded. She told me to make a follow up appointment in 3 months and then left, this whole interaction lasted around 5 mintues and then I left feeling very disappointed and upset. I expected the Dr to spend more time with me asking me more about my skin type/tell me what is is, look at my skin, look at my products and get to know me better. She seemed like she just wanted to get me out of the office quickly and didn't really care about what I had to say. The Dr I saw was Mira Stotland. read more

After seeing an MD at Forefront for 2 years I made an appt. with a PA because of the lead time to see the MD. Unfortunately the PA was not sufficiently trained or experienced in the use of liquid nitrogen and burned through a couple of layers of skin resulting in open wounds that are causing considerable discomfort. Terrible with scheduling. I was scheduled for the same appointment 3 times because every time i called to see if they had gotten my referral, they would say i didn't have an appointment and would make a new one. After i was finally able to get in (two months later) i got notifications of missed appointments (the extra appointments they scheduled). As far as the care goes, it was fine. nothing notable. it felt a bit rushed and impersonal to be honest. still waiting for a follow up to be scheduled to actually treat my symptoms (two month later). I'll just keep calling, i guess. I wish i still lived in LA because my Derm office over there was AMAZING. So i know what to expect as far as patient care and overall experience. read more

The doctors can be a bit hit or miss here but the overall quality of care is satisfactory. Both the upstairs and downstairs offices are clean and comfortable, though in my experience, the downstairs office is far more luxurious and my care was much gentler. This is the worst company I have ever dealt with. I paid my bill in full with a check that was cashed 3/22/24. On 3/25/24 they charged my credit card for the same amount. I called in early June to get a refund and was told it would be 4-6 weeks. I told them that was ridiculous and they said they would expedite the payment. 6 weeks later no check. Called again and the agent said all she could see was that it was expedited but it appeared no check was sent. I asked to talk to someone in Refunds and she said she wasn't sure anyone would answer. That was not a surprise given their service so far. I have worked in Accounting for over 45 years and I know for a fact it takes literally 2 minutes to request and process a check. I originally got a referral to this office and heard great things. It has been multiple times of consistently waiting. Either someone isn't scheduling things correctly or the dr is always running behind. The first time I came with my four year old the dr was 48 min behind our app time. We had back to backs. I couldn't even be seen because I had to go back to work. They also charged me for the visit so I had to deal with billing. Then Had to reschedule a another month out. The next visit: Now they told me to come 30 min early to my app so I could sit and numb. That would be 3:15. I got here at 3:10. My app was at 3:45 and I haven't even been seen or numbed yet. The nurse thought I was doing a body exam not biopsy's. Now at 4:22 I have to sit for another 20 min to numb then have a 30 min procedure. When I was suppose to be numbing at 3:15. read more

I have been to Dr. Laura Blumenthal several times. Every time I return, I hope for a different outcome with advise and bedside manners. First, she has a habit of posturing back and forth ( if you are an attractive woman with any designer items or jewelry ) she will care more about sizing you up than listening to you. Second, when you try to explain to her why you are there along with your medical history, she tunes out half of what you're saying while pushing medications that contradict what your explaining. 2 office visits she pushed a specific antibiotic I have researched for my adult acne and hyperpigmentation, that causes serious health issues like strokes, rapid weight gain and a laundry list of proven side effects. I have a blood clotting disorder so I specifically can not take certain medications. She was advised of this and still kept pushing the antibiotic. Now, if I did not research the medication and took it solely on trust, it would have either caused me to have a stroke or serious weight gain due to the studies you can research ALL over the internet. Lastly, I asked her to look at my toes. I have had several toes that have been red, slight rash under the skin, swollen, freezing all the time, hard time walking along with my legs feeling tired and heavy. I brought this to her attention once, she kept speaking over me to her PA. I tried to bring it up to her again and she kept walking towards the door to open it. So I tried to bring it up again and had to say, I had 2 reasons why I came in today so please refer to your PA and she stepped back into the patient room coming off rushed and annoyed... took one distant glance from the door and said, "That's covid toes" and shut the door and walked out with ZERO explanation. I was pissed to say it lightly at her poor bedside manners. I then followed up with a foot specialist which laughed so loudly at her diagnosis and wrote down her name. Short story, this led to an ultrasound being done on both leg's which led me to a vein specialist because I have a circulation issue in both legs, which is not allowing enough blood to my toes. Again, if I didn't get a second opinion and just listened to her, who knows what could have happened to me within this time period of waiting. DO NOT TRUST this doctor with any advise given. She is so self absorbed and doesn't have her patients in her best interest. . read more

I found Forefront Dermatology through my Aetna app. On Aetna it says it is in network and I was told I was in network when I called and made my appointment. When I arrived, the receptionist took my ID and insurance card and charged me a $55 copay. Right before the doctor came into the exam room, an assistant came in and said I was actually out of network and there might be additional costs if I had any procedures. As I was not having any procedures, I said it was okay. At the end the doctor said I would be charged $150. When I was checking out at the desk, I was told my $55 copay was voided and I would be charge $145.80 self pay. Now, one month later, I received a bill for another $106.20 with no explanation for the additional costs. This was a terrible experience and I am now having to dispute charges. It should have been made very clear what my charges were and that I was not in network when I made the appointment. I was literally in the exam room by the time they told me I was not in network. The appointment was also not great as Dr. Ngo spoke very quickly and left me confused. I wanted to go over what I was already using and what I needed to stop using and she seemed like she was in a rush. Highly do not recommend for patient care and billing. read more

The last few visits have been long waits in the waiting room up to an hour before being put into a room. Only to have the Dr rushing me out. Currently looking for another office. So frustrated with Forefront. This office was excellent before they bought it out, but now I can't get an appointment in any reasonable amount of time for my favorite Dr. (Cole) who I've been seeing for many years. Dr. Cole (and Dr. Condon) are both wonderful, but unfortunately I'm now looking for a new office because Forefront doesn't seem to care at all about patients. Before Forefront, I was valued as a patient and treated nicely. I could call the office directly and get an appointment. Now, I call, I'm routed to a call center that can't even get me an appointment after I've been on hold for 30 minutes, and they finally transfer me to the local office who then tells me the closest appointment is a couple of months out. I have had so many skin cancers, I'm a pro at knowing when I need to be seen and when it can wait. My current spot is one that needs to be seen, but the office acted like they couldn't care less about it. I want the old office back, the old billing team, the WAY less corporate feel. Forefront has made this place go downhill fast! read more

Patients are expected to show up on time but providers aren't expected to see you on time. They clearly overbook and don't care because the more patients they see the more $ they get. Waiting in the lobby for over 40 minutes, only to wait longer in a room to see a doctor is unacceptable. The excuse from the girls in the front was, "it's our busiest day"... well, don't overbook and actually try considering other people's lives and schedules because those are important too. Everyone is "busy" and to expect that patients have nothing better to do other than just sit and wait is unreasonable and disappointing. read more

I went here for a consultation, the doctor went over what I could get done, said someone would be in to talk to me about pricing for the procedure and she asked if there was anything else. I asked her about a spot on my cheek I had treated before at this location and she said they could not really do anything for it. They then proceeded to charge me for a $98.00 office visit. Health care is out of control. It is the insurance but it also the hidden fees being charged for those in charge of our health. Now we have to watch for what we say, how we respond to a seemingly simple question like "is there anything else" from your doctor will cost you $98.00. It is places like this, which were 30% higher for the consultation than their competitors, that make me mistrust the health care system. It is sad when it is us against them. I came to them because Dr. Kaufman did a great job a few years ago. I would not come to them for anything other than his treatment for skin cancer, period. read more

Instead of putting on hold until they were ready to talk to me, they would ask my name, have me spell it, put me on hold, then apologize, ask my name again, put me on hold again, ask my name again...this process repeated w my phone number and email. In re appt time, I told them I could not do the time they offered. So, they offered me a new time, put me on hold, than came back and told me I had an appt for the time I said I was unavailable. After spending 20 min on this, I said forget. I'll make an appt another time. However, I've now gotten a text that I have an appt scheduled for the time I said I was unavailable. So, now tomorrow, I have to waste my time trying to cancel this appt, I could never make to begin with. A hot mess is an understatement. read more

This review is about the lack of responsiveness of the front office. I had a scheduled appointment or that's what I thought. I am going to this office for a 3 session treatment, so I know for a fact that I had an appointment today. I went to the office and the front office let me know that I was not actually scheduled in the system. Instead of apologizing for what might have happened that caused the situation the front office was extremely rude and made me feel as if it's my fault that I showed up to what I told was my scheduled appointment. I was put in a situation to discuss my private needs in front of waiting room full of patients. Sometimes all you need to hear is "we are sorry"however this was not the case, the person was extremely defensive and made me feel as if I am the one that is at fault. She offered me another appointment that was way too late for what was needed to be done. Finally offered a more reasonable appointment that I took. I just do not appreciate the treatment and how hard it is to just say "sorry". read more

The worst. In my opinion if a doctor is running one hour or MORE late you should really have your front office call the patient and give them a choice whether or not they would like to reschedule. Someone with two small kids at home and paying a babysitter does not have time to sit in a waiting room for 40 minutes then get called back to sit in a room undressed for 20 plus minutes when I specifically asked the nurse and her robot answer was "she will be RIGHT IN". Because they clearly have no time management and also over book i finally got myself dressed came out of the room and said im sorry but this is taking way too long. My actual doctor who was standing outside my room just charting away which in my opinion if your running that late then you need to be charting on your time like lunch and after hours. She turns to me and says sorry bye! Im sorry WHAT!!!! So rude. Needless to say i will be taking my business elsewhere. Not that that care anyway since they are running a meat market. read more

I went here because my scalp had a bad odor and nothing made it go away. They took off a piece of my scalp to biopsy. It came back benign. They had no answers for the odor. I got my haircut a few weeks later and the hairdresser recommended dandruff shampoo. I didn't have dandruff so I had not tried it before but I gave it a try then. Well, it worked, and the odor is gone. This office biopsied my scalp for nothing. Now I have a piece of my body literally missing of my head permanentaly. I feel angry and sad every time I touch my head. All for something dandruff shampoo could help. Screw this place. I'm furious. read more

I, unfortunately, was the recipient of news in December 2014 that I had a Malignant melanoma skin cancer on my lower right calf. I thought that it was "nothing". Mine was a T1a 0.65mm tumor that Dr. Kaufman was relatively easily able to remove. I'm 42 year old female, of North Western European heritage so fair skin, green eyes and I work outside (in shorts) here in Southern California. I, before December 2014 was a sun worshipper. During my 20s and 30s unbeknownst to me, I was preparing myself for melanoma. Anyway, to get to the point, my feelings about Dr. Kaufman and his staff, Tiffany on the front desk, Kim and Terry in the surgical room are nothing short of professional grade adoration. During my surgery time I made small talk with Dr. Kaufman, Kim and Terry as I always do to "get myself through" things. Dr. Kaufman engaged my humour, Kim was nothing short of a total sweetheart and Terry did something that made me feel the most comforted ever. Imagine the scene, I'm laid on my front having a scalpel remove a tumor from my leg, I have tears rolling down my face that are falling down onto the carpet as I can't believe how I even got myself in this ridiculous and extremely dangerous situation having a malignant cancer and then Terry simply lays her hand on the back of my left leg throughout the entire surgery, comforting me in the most simple way possible. Her doing this was wonderful. I was beyond worked up and this stopped me in my tracks. I'm sure most people are probably bored with this review so far but that doesn't matter to me; what will matter is that if THEY ever have to come here for treatment because of it (and I hope to God they don't have to), they'll be damn glad they selected Dr. Kaufman and his team for their surgery and recovery. This man knows what he's doing and surrounds himself by others that know what they're doing. This people of professionals is simply awesome. Thank you Dr. Kaufman and team. Lisa C. I have recommended this office to many friends. I've seen 4 different doctors there based upon their specialty. Last week I saw Dr. Ngo who quickly found a potential problem and followed up with a call within 2 days of the appointment. The wait time for this appointment was very reasonable - maybe 10-15 minutes. I will continue to recommend this office. read more
